Name: Wayland
Age: 19
Race: Human
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Blue/Green
Occupation: Labourer
Personality: A young man hailing from the farmlands of Yarborough, Wayland is courageous, somewhat brash and naive, but unbound from cultural restraints. He has a great deal of hope and determination to make his way in life and is willing to explore new lands and experiences to do it.
Appearance: Broad shouldered and well muscled, Wayland has shortly cropped brown hair, striking good looks but slightly uneven teeth. His skin is tanned to radiant glow and his fingers are well calloused from many years of strenuous work. There is a glint in his eyes that others find playful and daring, but there is a determination which can surprisingly cut through many obstacles. His nose is broken with a slight curve to the left and there are deep scars dug from what appears to be claws running down the left side of his neck. His attire is practical, well stitched and made to last.
History:
Born to peasants and labourers of the Yarborough Barony, Wayland has spent much of his life dealing with the growth of nature, or harvesting it. He is known to wield the scythe to great effect, cutting down grain relentlessly but when the stars come out lay for hours among the camp fires of his people, laughing, drinking and dancing the night away. It is the only life he's known. Somewhat migratory, his father worked and schooled him as a woodsman or woodcutter, a mason to erect local churches or buildings of note, a tracker, butcher and curer of meats. Never spending more then two years at a time in one particular field, Wayland's last position before deciding to head to the capital of Radasanth was as a carpenter.
When his father Macainus died of heart failure in the hard winters the year prior, Wayland carried the body on a skiff for two weeks through the northern mountains of Corone only to find his mother had frozen to death inside their lakeside hut. The lack of food and heat had taken their toll. Burying them as soon as the ground thawed, he left his old world behind to find his fortune.
Skills:
Labourer: Not greatly skilled in any one task, the lad has had experience as a carpenter, blacksmith, fletcher, fisherman, farmer, butcher, woodsman (hunter, wood cutter), mason, spirits maker. He is able to work with wood, stone and steel and solve many practical problems.
Longbow: Ever since a child, his family pressed him to build the muscles and perception in order to bend the might yew of the longbow. Years later, Wayland now participates in tournaments and hunts for game.
Axe: Using both a two handed and single handed axe, the young man is capable. Dealing with rogues and bandits, Wayland's aptitude is enough to make him feel experienced for the journey which lies ahead.
