Description
Smoky red eyes peer out above a forest green bandit's scarf that settles in just below the scar that crosses his nose. Long pointed ears stick out of ebony hair that is streaked with silver. Studded leather armor covers the vital parts of his body, a light brown in color, whilst his clothes a lightweight mix of greens designed to blend with the forests of Raiaera. His skin is pale, with ashen undertones, and he is built much like any elf, slim and athletic.
Personality
Tenebrian is a hotheaded halfbreed with a mind hellbent on vengeance. Impatient and brash, he balks at anything that makes him wait or slow down. There is a softer side, but more often then not it is hidden these days, cloaked by his rage. His hatred is directed solely at Xem'zûnd and his undead legions who have taken everything from him.
History
Lady Teresma Rathmoril was a minor Raiaeran noble, and like some very young members of nobility, she rebelled against it. She fled Eluriand and headed west, presumably into Alerar. And for years it was assumed she died. But she did not - 18 years later she returned, this time with child.
She would not speak to anyone about who the child's father was, but there was a sadness in her eyes whenever asked about it. And once Tenebrian was born she would always speak of how much like his father he was. Eventually she settled down, a marriage arranged between her and Algalon Mentiri, a Raiaeran noble so minor that even a disgraced marriage into the house of Rathmoril was a step up. In spite of all this, Algalon held no ill will towards Tenebrian - he was a baby after all. In fact he stepped up, acting as father in all but blood for the boy.
Outside the home though, there was little Algalon and Teresma could do to protect him. For although he did not look like a Dark Elf, he most certainly did not look like a High Elf, falling somewhere in the middle. Taunted constantly, he turned mainly to staying home, playing his own games alone. He found no companionship among the other elven children, not until the birth of his sister Terellia.
Only his half sister some would say, but talk like that never happened in the household. And if there was any separation between the two over the issue of paternal bloodline, it was never visible for the two were practically inseparable. And even as they both neared adulthood, their interests changing and diverging they simply supported each other's pursuits whilst following their own.
Terellia pursued the magical arts, going into the school of Lissilin. Tenebrian joined Tel Taur'ohtar, the Rangers. While neither of them had the time to spend on each other they did before, the moments they did get together were still magical, carefree, and joyous. If only because Tenebrian did not bring his training home with him.
Learning the ways of the Ranger was hard going, especially considering his trainer was a fiercely prejudiced elf who tried his hardest to convince Ten that there was no place in the Ranger corps for a halfbreed like him. But it was not the first time he'd faced adversity, and no matter how brutal the man's methods were, they were shaping him. Forming him into a soldier that knew nothing of fear or doubt, who's wits were as sharp as the arrows that flew from his bow. Who would live to serve Raiaera, or die in it's defense if that was what was called for.
But the great evils of this world do not bide their time, waiting for those who might defeat them to gain their full skills. They follow their own timeline, moves serving their own end with ghastly efficiency. So it was with Xem'zûnd and the armies of Alerar. 6 years ago, an entire generation of young warriors and wizards were coming near the end of their training. But they would not get to finish it in the fields or in libraries or in towers made of stone. Instead their last lessons would be on the battlefield, inked in blood and carved upon the bodies of their comrades.
They were not ready.
In truth, none of Raiaera was. Tenebrian was sent out into the field with 2 squads of his peers, led by a senior ranger who himself was not nearly experienced to take a command. They fought first the armies of Alerar, then the wicked hordes of Xem'zûnd, losing many of their number along the way. When word reached their ears that Eluriand had been occupied, all he could do was pray that his family was safe. 2 years passed, and though Xem'zûnd was slain there was no relief from the hordes he left behind. Fighting in skirmishes just outside Eluriand, Ten was present when whatever deep magic was called upon flushed the lands of the taint that infected it, returning the dead to death.
Tenebrian felt hope for the first time in many months, and as efforts were made to rebuild and reclaim the city, he made for home. What he found there was the smell of death and the bodies of his mother and his adopted father. Of his sister there was no trace. Vengeance was all he could think of, bloody and neverending vengeance on the darkness that had consumed all that was good in his world. And yet there was noone to direct it upon, Xem'zûnd's forces gone. He left the Ranger corps, travelling on his own and seeking out any undead he could find, it mattered not that they did not serve Him, they represented the unnatural cancer.
His focus on the undead caught the attention of Tel Ranar'silma. And though his sometimes ruthless tactics gave them pause occasionally, his results were unquestionable. Directing him on the path of the Ranger, tempering his hatred with focus, was what they advised. And he agreed, traveling the Endless Path with dedication and passion, knowing it made him stronger in order to face those things that lurked in the dark.
When Xem'zûnd reared his head again, he was prepared this time.

Forestwalk - Knowledge of the forests and woodlands of Raiaera combined with his Ranger training give Tenebrian what almost amounts to a 6th sense within the woods. Tracking - Tenebrian is an average huntsman and tracker, able to stalk and follow game and other animals well. This extends to people as well, though characters higher level than he can give him the slip. Any abilities that make one untrackable work against this ability.
Dual Disciplines - Tenebrian has average weapon skill while dual wielding one handed swords and using the longbow
Favored Enemy - Undead - When fighting undead Tenebrian's strikes are 1.2x more likely to hit, and deal 1.2x the amount of damage.
Guerilla Warfare - Tenebrian has a slightly below average knowledge of stealth fighting and hit and run tactics.
