BattleMage

The glittery halls of the Citadel were seemingly bare on this harsh winter afternoon. Finally the short handsome faced elf would try his skill in a fight. Until now he refused to enter the place of the great Ai'Bron monks on account that he feared defeat. He was a strong willed man with a sensitive sense of confidence. The Citadel was known for it's epic battles and Derrick Magnum feared losing in such a prestigious place.
Man this place is a lot different on the inside!
Derrick's jaws dropped to reveal a look of awe. In each direction were halls lined with stone pillars and masterwork statues. Above him was a roof lit by hovering balls of red flame. The leather trousered mage entered and couldn't help feeling a bit out of place. Normally he was radiant with cofidence and could easily charm small town babes. Radasanth women were different though, it seemed most of them were after fame and fortune. Two qualities that were very foreign to Derrick. That was why he left his small village in Underwood though. Derrick was a fame seeker.
Derrick was suddenly taken from his state of awe by the cold stare of a chubby monk, "Let me guess you're here for a fight, correct?"
Derrick smiled, shrugging off the hint of attitude that coated the monks voice. "Yeah... I guess you get that a lot huh."
"Certainly do young man!"
"Well is there anything I have to do? I am kind of new to this type of stuff."
"Just follow me mage." The monk turned revealing a set of sweating neck rolls that reflected the red flames above.
The monk led Derrick to a small chamber with a heavy oak door. The seemingly small room didn't seem small enough for Derrick to scratch his ass in, let alone fight somebody. Inside the chamber was a hovering blue flame that hardly lit the room, but revealed bare walls that would've been hidden otherwise.
"So is this a waiting room or something?" Derrick questioned, wondering if this was some kind of joke.
"No this is where you will be fighting." The monk opened the heavy door and motioned Derrick to go inside, "Now please enter here sir."
With a simple shrug and a smile Derrick entered and leaned against the plain walls. A snug comedic look spread across Derrick's face as the monk closed the door. The room was shrouded with silence and the simple dance of the blue flame illuminated the walls within.
Whatever happens next I'm ready!
Derrick's face was painted with amazement as the room around him shifted under the gentle violent of the blue flame. The dance of the flame intensified and now grew and shrunk at will. Suddenly the flame burst and for a few moments caused Derrick to go blind.
Upon the restoration of his eyes the room around Derrick had changed completely. It was now a long hall full of mirrors that reflected images infinitely. At first sight Derrick almost developed a minor case of nausea, but worked hard to swallow what arose from deep within. The maze of mirrors around him was going to play a great role in his up coming fight.
