Luca
07-26-06, 12:05 AM
Name: Baroness Luca Terlios of Snowdale
Age: 21
Race: human
Hair Color: mahogany
Eye Color: hazel
Height: 5’8
Weight: 143
Occupation: Aristocrat
Personality: Luca acts like your typical noble when she must, but in privacy or the company of her servants or twin brother, she is short tempered, stubborn to a fault, and quite resentful of her aristocratic birth and the responsibilities that come with her position. Quite persuasive, and often openly deceitful, Luca is self-serving and rarely thinks twice about how her actions will affect those around her. Although she’ll never admit it, Luca is just as vain as those nobles she hates.
Appearance: Luca is of average build, with perfectly groomed mahogany curls and almond shaped hazel eyes that miss little. Typically dressed in the fancy ballgowns and extravagant accessories that are the custom and trend for the nobles of Radasanth to wear, if she can get away with it, Luca prefers a comfortable tunica and soft leather boots to the stiff clothing that is normally required of her.
History: Luca was born to Baron and Baroness Lucian and Maruu Terlios of Snowdale. She and her twin Locrian ((who is played by another player on Althanas) were the only children of the couple. Growing up together, the twins are quite close, although they tend to bicker at the drop of a hat. Luca, no matter how she hated it, strove to be the picture of aristocracy, and therefore when her brother disgraced himself and their family, she became the heiress to the estate. Their parents wanted to have Locrian put to death for his dishonor, but through Luca’s persuasion, they allowed him to live, simply disowning their 16 year old son. The Baron and his wife were killed by robbers on the highway traveling through the Concordian forest to a party, leaving Luca their estate when she was only 18.
Before long, Luca discovered a way to bolster her dwindling income by passing information between the nobles she entertained, and the low-life scum her brother rubbed elbows with. Throwing parties which are the talk of the town, Luca manages to skim all kinds of intriguing gossip and political talk from the aristocracy of Corone, which for a price she passes on to her brother’s comrades. On the same note, for a price, she will gather information on the activities and services of the Radasanthian Crime Syndicate for those she entertains, acting as a go-between for those too embarrassed to be seen around such disgusting bottom-feeders as the criminals whose services they require.
For Luca, there are no regrets at using her aristocratic comrades in such a way. She despises their habits, their attitudes, and their vanity (although she’ll never admit that she herself is at least as vain as they are). Many times the Baroness happily connects her fellow aristocrats with people whom she knows will leave them penniless or worse bleeding to death in a gutter. All this she does for the sheer joy of seeing such idiots get what they have coming to them. Of course she always makes sure she is far enough away from such events never to be connected with them.
Skills: Basic swordsmanship – Anything her twin brother was expected to learn as a proper nobleman’s son, Luca insisted upon being taught as well and therefore has basic fencing abilities with a rapier and saber.
Deception/Persuasion – Luca is very skilled with the “gift of gab” as her brother calls it. People tend to believe whatever it is Luca tells them, and are easily persuaded by her eloquent words to give her whatever information or favors she decides she might require.
Innocence – An ability that she has learned since her parents died, people see Luca as innocent, regardless of what she does or says. So even if Luca says or does something hurtful, people just automatically think that she couldn’t have possibly meant it. Because people see her as innocent, it is an ethical struggle for them to hurt or attack her in any way. This is easily resisted by anyone with a moderate ability to read others or who are extremely suspicious.
Equipment:
-An entire wardrobe of fancy gowns and matching shoes and accessories in which she is usually attired.
-A fancy steel-bladed rapier which was her father’s and his before him, with gold embellishments on the blade as well as the hilt. The butler of Snowdale insists that it possesses magical qualities, but neither he nor anyone else has been able to prove this.
