Ancient stone structures seemed to surround the Overmage. He could feel the Elemental Manna flowing through the area and making his skin tingle. Looking up at the sky, the Overmage had a lot to think about. First off, was the organization called Vice. It seemed that this man, Logan, was looking to recruit individuals for the shadowy organization. Logan was promising the resources necessary to aid the Overmage in his quest to topple Xem'Zund.

Stars twinkled in the eternal blanket that was the sky. A few clouds lurked overhead promising the storms and tribulations of tomorrow. Jotham was no scryer, but he trusted his gut instinct. Experience had made him that way. As Jotham stood there leaning against the oak staff, he could feel the organic passage of time. When the night-time hours came by, and the infinite stars shone overhead, Jotham saw the phenomenon known as a meteor shower. Several bursts of lights traveled in a southward direction as heavenly bodies crashed somewhere on Althanas.

The light-show lasted for several minutes as hundreds of objects cascaded into Althanas' native atmosphere. Jotham had some knowledge of the cosmos through philosophy and the teachings of the Magi. He wasn't entirely certain what was out there, but the Overmage could speculate what was out there. As he speculated, he found that a great deal of time had passed and the others meant to join Vice had parted ways long since.

Only Jotham and Logan remained. When an Overmage slept, he slept with both eyes open. Dreaming was done with a semi-conscious state as the Overmage thought of the many calculations and speculations done throughout the day. For some reason, as Jotham slept, he thought of a female sheep that was humanoid in characteristics and physiology. The sheep was arguing metaphysics with him over a cup of coffee...

The last few recruits had left, and Logan breathed a sigh of relief. As he turned to leave, he was startled to find the Overmage standing completely still and watching the sky.

Hours had passed, and the psion did not remember if the Overmage had left or not. It kind of freaked him out a little, but he shrugged it off as too much stress. Approaching the Overmage, Logan realized something was different, perhaps wrong. The mage was still breathing, but he didn't seem awake even though his eyes remained opened.

"Jotham?"

The psion noted the Overmage's eyes remained affixed upon something above them. Looking up, Logan was greeted with the sight of a beautiful display of heavenly bodies and flames. Everything above him in the night sky seemed to dance that particular night.

Another hour passed, and then the psion heard Jotham stir.

"Ahh, Jotham. Are you alert now?"

Logan's presence caused the Elemental Manna to flow in a distinctive pattern. He hadn't noticed the pattern before Logan approached him, but now he was studying the pattern as he rested. When a voice resonated from him, Jotham soon blinked several times. His eyes lost their far-away appearance. As his consciousness was removed from the stars, the Overmage felt the natural ebb and flow of the ruined structures surrounding him. Marble and stone columns ascended towards the heavens, but were cut off at various angles where their former height was struck down by time and erosion.

Letting the question linger for a moment, the Overmage blinked several more times as he rejoined the conscious world of the Firmanent. Jotham yawned visibly for a moment and took a stretch, his battle-staff was stuck in the ground for a moment where he'd pushed it in there a time earlier. He gripped the staff once again after he was done with the movement then he looked at Logan and responded.

"Ah, Logan. Pardon me, I fell asleep for a while. I was pondering many things. But yes, I am awake. Is there something you needed sire?"
