:: Appearance ::
Echo is of average height, with a lithe, almost fragile build. She's pale, with long blue/black hair. Her face has been described as somewhat mousey, with her small features and upturned nose. Her eyes are the defining feature of her face, large and vivid green.
:: Personality ::
Echo was, and still is, a very shy child. She prefers to keep to herself, and won't enter a conversation unless prompted. This is mostly due to a great confidence issue, as she detests being seen as stupid. She won't enter an arguement unless she first knows, beyond reasonable doubt, that she is right. Echo also rarely tells people about her visions, unless she's sure of them. She's been disbelieved and ignored too many times in the past, and has come to loathe her "gift".
:: History ::
Echo grew up in the port city of Talmhaidh, on the continent of Dheathain. She lived rather comfortably. Her mother was a seamstress, and her father specialized in enchantments. The two had built a business together before Echo was born, her mother sewing items for her father to enchant.
Echo spent most of her childhood marvelling at the sights of the city, and the people within. As humans are fairly rare in the city, the few friends she had while growing up were either Draconian or Fae. Due to this, Echo has a great love of anything out of the ordinary. One of the few things that will break her out of her shell is an interesting person, item, or ability.
When Echo was eight years old, she started having terrible nightmares. She saw accidents, people dying, ships in the port sinking. At first this was no cause for concern, as little girls have nightmares all the time. Later on, however, she started to notice that the events were coming to fruition. Echo explained this to her mother, and after that her family took much stock in Echo's dreams.
At the age of ten, Echo had her first vision while fully awake. She was sitting at the breakfast table with her mother and father. Her mother noted that Echo's eyes had glossed over, her expression had gone rigid. She shook the girl, telling her to get her head out of the clouds, and when Echo came around she was almost in tears.
"Momma, please don't go to the market today," the little Echo said tearfully. Echo's mother sighed.
"Sweetie I'm sorry, but we've got to. We're almost out of food. If you want to come with, I suppose you can," said her mother. Echo shook her head violently.
"No, no. No one can go. We need to stay home," Echo said.
Echo's mother got up from the table, and began clearing the plates. She busied herself about the kitchen, scraping the dishes and straightening up. "Echo, that just isn't an option. We've nothing to eat for dinner. Why are you so intent on staying home?" she asked.
"Because something bad is gonna happen at the market and we need to stay away!" the little girl yelled.
Echo's mother turned to her daughter and asked, "Have you had a dream, sweetie?"
Echo shook hear little head. "No, it wasn't a dream. It was just now, at the table. I saw it, Momma," she said. Her mother rolled her eyes. Echo's father leaned across the table and took his daughter's small hand in his. He gave her a reassuring smile.
"Baby, that's just your imagination running away with you. You've never had one of your visions while awake. You just don't want to go, and your mind is making things up," he said.
Tears flooded the little girls eyes, and she stomped off to her room. She'd hoped her parents would follow, but shortly after she heard the front door closing behind them. Echo ran out of her room just in time to see her mother and father's little wagon taking off down the road. She ran outside and screamed and screamed for them to come back, but they couldn't hear.
That day at the market, Echo's mother and father were both killed after a thief attempted to steal the family's most expensive possession; her mother's wedding ring.
Her mother and father gone, Echo wandered around as an orphan for years. This is where we find her now, six years later. She has but a few possessions to remind her of her parents. A coat her father made, which finally fits her, and a heart-shaped locket she took from her mothers jewelry box before abandoning the house she grew up in.
:: Abilities ::
•Random Foresight
Echo has random visions of the future. They tend to come more often during natural sleep, but have been known to crop up while awake aswell. She can't call upon this power (as it's completely random), and the visions can be misleading or foggy.
•Arcane Mimicry
Echo can mimic another's power/spell if she touches them. This only works on characters at or below her current level, and she can only mimic one spell/power at a time. Whenever she grabs a new power, the last one is lost.
:: Equipment ::
•Enchanted Coat
Echo has in her possession an enchanted coat, made by her father. The fabric is the same weight/texture as wool, however it's enchanted to withstand tearing/slicing. A sword (steel or lower) wouldn't puncture the item, but would still cause considerable damage. (Bruising and/or broken bones). Any well swung blow can still bring Echo to her knees.
