The smithy was rather large and the furnaces unusaly big. It was even more odd knowing that the work shop was run by dwarves who were short even for their own kind. But they were the fastest and best in the business.
Haro looked around, admiring all the weapons crafted and armer forged.

Dwarves, even the genetically different super short kind, were well known for their skill with metal crafting, greed, grudges, and drinking. The leader of the miniature group was standing on a stool, brushing his beard which was not genetically altered in size. Gray specked hair, tightly braided where he had already brushed and smoothed, reached past his heavy leather booted feet and to the ground. Over his shoulder he heard footsteps, a slow gait which meant a taller race, human or elf. A smile lit his pudgy face, flashing the yellow teeth barely visible beneath his thick moustache.
“Oy,” Grosh Ironskin said in a traditional dwarven greeting. “Welc’m t’da Greenh’rn Smiffy. Watcha need ‘elp wiff t’day?”

A dwarf with tidy hair and an air that seemed twice his size walked over to Haro. His thick dwarven accent was tough to understand, but He could make it out ok. "Not much, I am looking to either change my sword or have a new one forged. I have a design in mind but I want to know what you could do for what."
Haro hoped that what he was looking for could be forged here, if it could be forged at all. It was the best thing that he could do for now.

“Ch’nge yer s’ord or ‘ave a new ‘ne made? Well, ain’t we the mos’ speciffic p’rson shoppin’ t’day? How ‘bout ya tell me watcha want an’ we’ll see iffin I can ‘elp you wiff it.” The dwarf was not one to deal with people that spoke in round about questions that gave him no information to work off of. If the kid wanted something, he’d have to actually say what he wanted and then little Grosh would be able to help him out.

Haro felt iffy telling the details of his family's sword, but it was lost in a fight by one of his ancestors. He had no choice but to tell. "What I have in mind is re creating an old heirloom. The blade is one and a half inches wide and two and three quarter feet long. With a flat strip like a blood grove starting in the middle and extending to about an inch above the hand guard. The blade starts tapering about six inches from the point." Haro said, measuring in the air all the dimensions. But the blade was the easy part. He did not know about the hand guard or pummel. "The Hand guard is two wings extending up to the Hand guard around a piece in the center. The handle is two more wings folded down, widening at where the hand grips and tapers down to make it a hand and a half with the end another pair of wings that are small and wrap up, starting on the opposite side of either a small stone or whatever and the tips meeting at the handle." He hoped that his description was accurate enough and not too complex. making it more expensive for Haro than he could afford. He wasn't sure if he should, but Haro pulled out his fathers charm. It let out a gentle tone as it slipped out of his shirt. "I would like you to use this as the piece in the hand guard. The Hand guard is five inches long, and the handle is seven, with the pummel three inches. So would it be essayer to work with the weapon I have now, or would it be better if you just forge it? If it helps you could salvage my sword for parts." Haro was conserned it would be pricy, but put on his warrior face, the face that said nothing of what he was thinking.

"Thas' a lot of detail," the dwarf mulled over the idea of the sword, trying to picture it in his mind and formulate the costs that would go into it. Of course, it depended on the base materials used for the swords creation to get a true estimate. The details that would have to go into making the wings for the sword would be the hand-guard and handle. The length would add more to to the possible details, since the overall feel of the blade would make it a common hand-and-a-half sword, or bastard sword.
"What type of material's you lookin' ta use? Steel? Iron? With the detail involved, and the time it would take the replicate it, I'm guessin' that it might be a pretty penny. It all depends on the metal though. Y'knowhatimean?"

"indeed, I was thinking iron like my current sword, or steel. If you could make steel from the iron from this blade that would make things cheeper for the both of us. But if it is better for you to take your own steel and forge the blade, that would be good." Haro thought hard about the best way to get the materials for the smith with out having to pay for his, but Haro could think of nothing than use the materials from his own blade. "Now that I think about it, it would be best if you took my blade and used the iron from that and make steel. I believe it would save a penny for the both of us." Haro almost regreted using the sword he trained with. But then he would not be losing it, it simply would be reborn.
Reborn, like the new history of his people would be.

The dwarf pulled out an abacus and started calculating, adding and subtracting, sliding little beads for calculation. "Well, iffin' yer lookin' for 'n av'rage s'ord mad'a steel yer lookin' at 425 gold fer the details 'n make. I'rn woul' run ya 250 gold fer the blade. 'N givin' up yer s'ord ya 'ave alr'dy woul' drop tha' down ta... 30 gold for either one."

The price astonished Haro so much he almost couldn't hold his joy in. The price was more than fair and he could hold his title as a trainee swordsman behind himself and move on. "Done." Haro said, unbuckling his sword belt and taking it off of his back. "The price is fair." Haro handed the stumpy dwarf his sword and started taking the pendant of of the string and popped it out of the holder for the chime sphere. "I Would like this to be able to fit in the hand guard of the sword, like I can fit it into the holder. I'll throw in another twenty thousand for it, it means a lot if I put it in and take it out when ever." The Chime was importiant, and still a mystery to Haro, he did not want to do anything permament to it till he was sure what it was for. Haro handed the sphere to the dwarf and pulled out the gold for payment. "I am sure this will be a fine piece that you make."

"Of cours'," the dwarf responded with a greedy smile. "You takin' the i'rn blade then? W'th this trink't added in? Give me a day and we'll 'ave yer s'ord d'n."
((Just throw up a post having a day pass and we'll finish this out.))

The blade was almost perfect, the center of the guard had the holder for the charm and the handle fit perfectly. "This is just right. I am glad that I am getting my moneys worth. I appreciate this greatly." Haro put the sword in its new sheath and set out for the next adventure, getting the other party member for their raid.
Ok, so the pendant is suppose to have an unknown power that grows with Haro, but Haro doesn't know what it is yet. so I was wondering if its o.k. if I use that in latter posts, not any think I am going to be working on soon. But as the truth about the winged get out I would like to use the secret power of the chime. for the next two or three posts its going to continue sleeping, is that cool?

Transaction complete.
You don't have to submit these for judging, since the mod working on them will close them and finish them when completed.
Also, since it's done I'm not sure what you meant by the sleeping thing... I'm going to go ahead and close the thread and stuff. As for the charm's use, when you write new threads you can work on getting new abilities and stuff approved for the charm. That depends on how well you write the thread, as well as if the judge approves the spoils though.
Haro loses 220 gold. He receives 20 exp for interaction, as well as the new iron sword. It is average quality, and has the winged detail as described, as well as a small socket for the charm to fit in.
