"Argh! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

Age: 22 Years Old
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs.
Birthplace: Kusanagi, Akashima

Appearance: Medium-tall for a girl, Aeryn cuts a rather imposing figure when her black and amethyst armor is taken into account. Her body is rather lean, though her years of military duty have strengthened her muscles and corrected her posture to an almost arrogant degree. Aeryn has the traditional features of her oriental lineage, including almond-shaped green eyes and pale coppery skin. Her fingers are those of an artist's long and slender. Dark red, almost purple hair grown long is normally pulled back in a high-rise ponytail.

Personality: Once a well-known and respected lieutenant in the Royal Army of Akashima, Aeryn was kind and calm, supporting justice with all of her strength. But, as was eventually, times changed. Her affliction made her personality as monstrous as the creatures that became her traveling companions. Now, she is cruel and rebellious. Once earned, her animosity knows no limits, her vengeance was swift and certain as a coming winter. Though she doesn't go out of her way to commit evils, she will not shy from the path that leads to them either. Her heart is as cold and hard as stone. Her sense of humor is black and morbid, her fascination on the subject of death nearly a fixation.

History:

Born as a commoner in Kusanagi, Akashima, Aeryn was always out of place among her people and relatives. Where they only cared for tending crops, weaving, or hunting, the thought of glorious battle drew her attention. Her mother and father supported her, despite their misgivings, and encouraged her to join the Royal Army when she became of age. Her childhood passed in mediocrity, and on her sixteenth birthday, she left to join the Royal Army. Her parents remained in Kusanagi. They wait there to this day, still awaiting her return.

She trained diligently, learning all she could of the arts of war. The years passed in a chain link of peace and war. For months at a time, she would fight boredom as she did nothing but train and wait. Other times, she was in the thick of battle, her sword letting the blood of some enemy or another. Such was the life of a warrior in the Royal Army, lived in short streaks of glory over a canvas of boredom.

And then came the day of reckoning. Xem'Zûnd had returned. And even in Akashima, his presence was felt. Dispatched by his dark master to spread the seed of corruption through Corone's regions and sow the seeds of destruction, a Necromancer agent arrived. The turmoil he caused in Akashima lasted weeks, and when a task force of Royal Army warriors was sent to bring him to justice, Aeryn led it. Newly promoted to Lieutenant status within the Army, she fought with zeal. She was a beacon to her followers, rallying them to strength and honor.

And during that battle against the hordes of living dead, the Necromancer found her. Face to face with the man who had reaked such destruction, Aeryn charged. The battle lasted only moments. But in the seconds of her victory, she realized why the Necromancer had died so easily. He had allowed himself to die, and in so doing, had placed a piece of himself within her.

The curse drove her from the lands of Corone. At first it was little more than a sense of wrong that lurked about her. And then came the corpses. After staying in one area for too long, any undead creature within fifty miles would shamble slowly toward her. And when it had found her, it would simply stand and stare at her. Her life soon became a horror as she was followed constantly by fascinated, yet harmless dead bodies. And when it became too much, the second half of the curse came to the surface. In a moment of emotional agony, a black cloud billowed from her skin. It rose to cover the skies, and wafted through the city she had sought refuge within. Thousands died, simply from inhaling that toxin. And so she came into the honorary name of Aeryn Sunkiller, as her plague blotted out the sun.

Since, she has wandered the land, seeking some form of escape from the corpses, and the dangers of the burden she now bares.

Inventory:

Armor - Strength of Steel

A set of black and purple armor, granted to her by the Akashiman Royal Army on her advancement to Lieutenant. Currently has the strength of common steel.

Abilities, Skills & Spells:

Raise Mortalis

The only Necromantic spell consciously known by Aeryn right now. This creates a Golem made from blood, dirt, and old bones. It currently has the melee abilities of a level 0 character, but with the intelligence of a common household spoon. Accepts verbal or mental commands from Aeryn, though the later method requires a great deal of concentration. The Mortalis is resistant to physical damage, but is highly suceptible to magic of any kind.

The Black Plague

Due to her curse, Aeryn emits a cloud of highly poisonous, airborne toxin when under heavy emotional duress. Though the first manifestation of this ability was dramatic, it has since then weakened, likely due to Aeryn's increasing self control. Currently, this cloud extends no further than three inches from her body in any direction and can't be controlled.

[This ability will not be used in any Battle threads, nor will it ever be used without the approval of the Quest Leader of the thread in question. Plot related ability.]

Basic Swordsmanship

Aeryn is moderately skilled in the very basics of swordsmanship, preferring to wield two short swords. In most situations, she has a good chance of not cutting off her own foot.
