Appearance: Jack, as he likes to call himself when around people who don't know him well, isn't much of a looker, but he likes to consider himself at least moderately handsome. Preferring casual over formal, Jack usually dresses himself in a dark colored tight fitting t-shirt, loose fitting boot cut blue jeans and black combat boots. Should the occasion call for it though, he'll spice himself up a bit with an untucked white Harvard shirt, loose fitting tan slacks with matching belt and brown loafers. However he choses to dress though, he always make sure to have a pair of sunglasses on.
Skills/Abilities: Being of the casual sort, Jack hasn't really pursued many extra curricular activities. Until quite recently that is. Perhaps through some freak accident, or perhaps a screw gene in his family history, Jack has developed a rather remarkable reaction time. It started some seven months ago while he was playing at a game of darts and one of his dart 'buddies' decided it would have be funny to use him as a dart board. Long story short, Jack, staring down the receiving end of a fast flying dart, reached out and caught the wayward projectile out of the air. Now normally, most people would have written it off as pure dumb luck, but Jack proceeded to repeat the feat twenty more times. He was stunned, as was everyone else, and he found that he had to beat feet rather quickly before things got even more out of hand for him. Now that he's had the time to think on it, he figures his reaction speed is now sitting at somewhere close to one and a half times that of a normal person, and it appears to only be getting faster.
In addition to this strange passive trait he's developed, he's also noticed that his reaction time increases exponentially when he is faced with a 'fight or flight' situation. Usually something that involves large amounts of adrenaline to be produced within his body, and although he really can't put a number on it, he thinks that it's close to two times faster than a normal person. Or, close to twice what his resting reaction speed is.
Other Abilities: Because of his increased reaction time, Jack has found that he's fairly decent at a number of things now, ranging from fist fighting to dodging people and/or projectiles of the slow nature to the ever rare sword fight. Granted he's no master, or even slightly skilled in said areas, but he has been able to use his heightened reaction time to at least survive long enough to flee or otherwise put an end to the confrontation.
Brief History: Born into mediocrity Jack hasn't known wealth, or true poverty, but he does possess a strong work ethic and won't usually take things for granted. Having worked for most of his worldly possessions, and lost quite a few in the process, Jack understands that nothing in this life is free, and as such builds his life around the principle. He also understands the true meaning of being alone, as his parents left him for happier pursuits at the ripe age of twelve, and he's been more or less on his own ever since. His aunt did end up taking him in, a few long months later, but he never really regained the sense of family that he had shared with his parents. As such he vacated his aunts residence as soon as he was able, about eighteen, and has truly been on his own since. Quick to a laugh, and only slightly slower to make friends, Jack found that he fit well in most aspects of society and has more or less remained free of worry since. He recently quit his job working at a pig slop in a small town near the edge of the Concordian forest, and has taken it upon himself to explore a bit of the world before he finally settles down. It was while on the road to Radasanath that he discovered his new found ability, and with it, he finds himself wondering what the world truly has to offer a man such as himself.
