“Kit! I don’t like this!” Inari complained while walking on the black ground. “If one beast did all this we won’t be able to take him.” She said while Kit looked at the ground.
Inari was probably right.
Still Kit looked to see the damage, this blackened pile of rubble was once a section of a city and overnight a dark creature decimated it. There was nothing left but piles of rock and bones. “Yeah it won’t be easy but we’ve dealt with worse.” Well maybe not, Kirin are said to be as strong as the spirit dragons. But the damage the creature did was too much for Kit to sit around while the monster runs amok. Dragon, Kirin it didn’t matter, no creature had the right to cause such devastation. What made Kit decide was a little toy that belonged to a child that would be about Inari’s age if the young fox girl didn’t have an accelerated growth.
Kit didn’t want the monster to hurt any more children.
“well if you say we’ll be fine…” Inari said as she practiced her mother’s always-right routine that allowed Kit to get away with more than she should.
“Don’t worry, we’ll bag the demon and claim the reward.” Kit smiled at Inari and the younger fox tried to mimic it.
“Yeah you’re right.” Inari swished her tail lightly but not quite sure.
“tell you what, lets have a nice dinner to get in the mood.”
Inari bought the bait of a nice dinner and her tail began to wag. “You mean it, we don’t have to eat at a cheap joint tonight.”
“nope only the best for tonight.”

“Wow this food is really good!” Inari chimed as she finished her kitsune udon. She was eating the noodles really quick and forgot about any doubts about hunting the Kirin. She lived for the moment and this moment was to enjoy the food.
Kit however was on the look out for help, she needed it and she was sure. While she was confident that she could take on the Kirin, she had a feeling that she would need help, there was reports about a brotherhood of monks that protected the mad beast. Of coarse the evil thing had to have help. Still it wasn’t going to be fun dealing with them to get to the beast. Kit needed some way to deal with the monks before the Kirin got involved and things got messy. She was going to need more than Inari.
