Age: 22
Race: Soulless
Gender: Asexual (see race description)
((Referred to as male, closest resemblance))
Height: 6’
Weight: 185 lbs.
Hair: Deep violet, almost black
Eyes: Deep blue

Guild: N/A
Personal Alignment: Neutral Lawful
General Description: (http://animevisions.net/Pictures/guys/WOG1.jpg)
What is there to say about Osato? First and foremost is what everyone sees whenever he enters a room, his face. He is a pretty boy, to say the least about his zeal in the appearance realm. He is always clean shaven, always freshly bathed, and his hair is always freshly brushed. His nose and mouth are small and unobtrusive, his eyes are high-set and normally wide, and he sports a high cheekbone (giving him the look of royalty at some times). His hair, long enough to extend below his waist, is as smooth as silk and as vibrant as the midnight moon. It is parted mostly to the left, with a wisp of hair allowed to lie across his forehead, giving him a rather dramatic flair.

His body is of a medium build, muscular but not obscenely so. Most of his power, and as such his bulk, is found in his legs. He has a finely sculpted chest and abdomen, both of which he is pretty proud of and always working on. With his months of training and fighting under the Yerrian Order he has almost ‘fallen in love’ with his body, as the girls back home would undoubtedly.

His clothes are only what were issued to him when he joined, though the original set was traded in when he graduated from the training. They are the blue, black, and silver of the Yerrian Order. Worn proudly, and meant to show off the warriors physique, the top is a sleeveless silver shirt that is tight across his body. Around his neck he wears a common black collar, made of thick leather, which is no more then a fashion statement. His pants are rather tight as well, but made of a light but resilient fiber allowing them to stretch and accommodate Osato during fights. He wears a wrap of silver, which flows around his heels, that is overlapped by the symbol of the Yerrian Order. Both of the items of clothing are cut to reveal the warrior’s legs and allow him to move freely when running or even riding. Both hands are wrapped in fine black gloves that come from his fingers to elbows, made of the same material as his trousers. And finally he wears a thick and heavy leather boot, the most beloved part of the soldier’s wardrobe. The boots are made to withstand heat up to 150 degrees to anything below that without taking damage from the temperatures.

Belts and straps meet in random places across the uniform, holding down certain parts while allowing other to be exposed. There are not enough to be a significant factor, but they are in areas that could serve as good places to store smaller weapons if the need arose. Osato is proud of his uniform, as well as the Yerrian Order and would never let the clothing be dirty if he has a way to clean them.

Class: ~+~Warrior—
The warrior is a class that holds more possibilities then any other, and also the most people. There is an almost unlimited amount of adaptations of the warrior class, and the subclasses are always expanding with new additions. To pick the warrior class is to enter into something far bigger then most people even realize. The warrior class extends throughout all of Althanas, making up the spine of civilization from the common troop of an army to the High General of Asvisidek.

Sub-class: -----Mercenary-----
A mercenary is almost always no more then a simple wandering warrior, just a sell-sword. They are almost always money hungry, power hungry, and blood-thirsty, looking for nothing more then a challenge. Most are cowardly when it comes to fighting opponents much stronger, or when they don’t outnumber the opponent by at least two to one. Though it is rare to find one who is loyal to those that are paying, it isn’t unheard of to find one. They have a strange way of working across battlefields and the skilled and experienced mercenaries are often looked up to with their abilities to think faster in a battle then any other warriors.

Armor:
**Steel Gauntlets – blackened steel gauntlets that cover from the tips of his fingers to his elbow in length, common armor for a grunt soldier. These are only the metal parts, which wrap around the gloves that the character has as part of his normal clothing.

**Steel boots – blackened steel plates that cover the top and sides of the thick leather boots that he wears, common armor for a grunt soldier. These attach to the front and sides of the thick boots, easily removed or replaced without damaging the boot itself.

Weapons:
**Steel longsword – blackened steel longsword. It is an estimated three feet long, with an eight inch handle wrapped in thick black leather straps. It is of a common make, nothing outstanding about it to set it apart from any other Yerria made blade. There is no sheath for the blade, but instead a ‘sling-like’ object that allows it to hang from his belt at his side. The sling can be adjusted as the user sees necessary, and can be used in almost any position including across the back or along the leg.

Items:
**Tablet of Order and Chaos – a battle-trinket that is given to all soldiers of Yerria when they complete their initial training to join the army. It is a small tablet-like object, made of Delyn, with the words of Order inscribed across the front of it. On the backside it holds the words of Chaos. It is not something that can be sold, and is commonly wrapped around every soldier’s arm to remind them always of why they serve.

**Charms – three K-9 teeth from mature dire-wolves, a hole is burrowed through the tops of them and a cord of Delyn is wrapped through those. The cord hangs from the sword hand of the soldier, dangling only about three inches. It shows past victories, it is only a minor trophy for others to see and cannot be sold for anything.

**Gift of Am’aleh – a charm that hangs from around his neck, it signifies the symbol of the Coronian god of the sea. Osato has a minute belief in gods, even though he is a direct creation of them. It is made of thick steel cord and winds around a second time to make two necklaces. The second is used to hold ‘favors’, small rings granted upon completing a mission or task in the duty or in respect of the god. These are bestowed by the High Priest of the different religions, all gods represented by a separate ‘parish’ on Yerria.

Class Bonuses:
30% proficiency with all sword-like weapons of common craft (no martial or unique weapons)

30% proficiency with all armor, though anything of the heavier medium (scale mail) to any heavy armor presents difficulties with a flowing fighting style that Osato prefers.

Racial Bonus:
25% Immune to spec. magic – Osato, as a Soulless, is immune to most things that would affect the soul. Spells and magic that are directly inflicted on a person/being/creatures emotion or threatens their eternal soul being stolen (enter cliché devil-soul trade here) he is immune to it.

((Because I don’t want to be putting all empathy/emotional mages at a major disadvantage this skill much rise just as any other. Spells of an ‘emo’ like nature will affect him if they are above that 25% mark, but instead of attacking his soul they will mess with his mind and body instead…))

Skills:
25% proficiency in hand to hand combat – Osato has trained his skills with his hands and feet only minimally. His greatest strength, and only strength, lies in his sword, but when the time calls for it he is able to fight without the weapon. Unfortunately most of his style revolves around a fluid motion and his strength in his legs, which is proven to be 2.5 times stronger then his fists. Most times the area is limited and when he is on the ground grappling he is easily overtaken.

Pretty boy – The man cannot help but look good. He is resistant to bruises, wounds hardly ever scar, once closed a wound will normally heal quickly, and his hair always seems to fall the way it’s supposed to. Osato just cannot help it, but then again… he really doesn’t mind that much either.

History:
Personal:

Osato was spawned on the island of Yerria, off the coast of Corone. It is a large island when compared to the others around it (small though when compared to even Scara Brae), alone holding only a city that takes up nearly all of it and a port for which it is known. But over many years the island’s defense was transformed into a machine, working across other islands. In ten years of island hopping the Yerrian Order came to bear upon thirty other islands off the Southern coast, all the way up to the middle of Corone.

The larger island nation seems to pay no attention to the smaller feuds off their shores, but instead watches with a sharp eye.

Osato, being raised on the host island, where all the power of the Yerrian Order rested, was quickly adopted into the militia. From the age of 15 found himself training with his weapon, the long sword. He was no more then a common soldier though, and though most could sense his skills growing none truly understood him. In his deep eyes people would often find themselves transfixed and lost.

As time progressed the people that he had grown up with, people that he had found himself looking at as both friends and family, began to look at him with a different eye. No longer did he feel so comfortable, no longer did he feel safe. He slowly began venturing into the port more and more, plotting and pondering solutions to his problems.

At the age of 20 the man ventured away from Yerria. As a deserter (though it was expected by the Order) he began a new life, one where the ‘soulless’ are rarely known or seen. Althanas’ understanding of the soulless beings may not be as well known as in Yerria, nor as well accepted. But Osato is willing to be a sell-sword and work for his earnings as a mercenary.

Yerrian Order:

As a foundational organization the Yerrian Order has been a dominant part of the small island nation. The island once held only a small town, dependent completely on their marine and naval trades. Besides that, Yerria was barely known. Until thirty years prior the port island was part of a vast trading ring with many other islands, profiting from them as they did from it.

However, progress and fair trade sometimes do not work hand in hand.

Yerria was the brunt of an attack, the first of many, from another island west of them. The nation of Sud attacked quickly, stealing what they could and gathering the lay of the land for future attacks. Yerria began quickly forming a true army, instead of a militia/watch, and secured their ships for battle.

In the years to come the battles between the two nations increased, each taking other smaller islands in turn. Both saw the smaller islands as profitable enterprises, mere means to strengthen their own war machine, or provide industries and trade that they could not get otherwise. Yerria slowly began to take charge of the war, pulling from other islands equally and fairly, unlike the Sudie who found themselves putting down revolts almost as much as fighting off attacks.

Some islands came to Yerria without the island having to take it. Such as the island of Uunai, who offered to pay a tribute in exchange for protection; or the island of Tennemos, who revolted and sent emissaries afterwards to tell Yerria of the revolt and their loyalty to the island nation. In the war between the islands, which took almost thirty years to complete, the island of Yerria had taken through persuasion and promise up to twenty other islands, including the island of Sud.

Now, though the revolts and civil wars have been put down across the war stretched islands, Yerria still finds themselves dealing with other problems. The Yerrian Order constantly makes runs through the straights, hunting both pirates and rogue Sud warriors (sometimes happening to be the same thing).

Yerria is always expanding now, looking for more avenues of approaching business and enterprise. Unfortunately, through experience, the people who are part of the business are often forgotten, instead the ‘glory of Yerria’ shining through. The people who are used do not mind, because of an over-whelming sense of pride or nationalism felt.

The Government is a monarchy, run by the King and Queen. The military consists of naval aspects and marine forces (Naval being only sea whereas Marine is land but transported by sea making them stronger then the average army soldier.) Many aspects of daily life are deliberated and decided upon by the Guilds of Yerria. There is a guild for almost all forms of work, and during the war many more were added due to the assimilation of new careers and voices from other islands.

Prominent Persons of Yerria

~+|+~King Riegal and Queen Gioness

The King and Queen of Yerria are both older, in their late fifties. They hold themselves with a very high esteem, and are looked upon pleasantly by all those of the Yerrian island. They were in power, just barely, when Sud first assaulted their beloved shores, and were the strength and resolve of the people. Though most royalty would have taken a back seat to the war, King Riegal was often seen rallying his men during island assaults, or shouting out orders during naval backbones.

Most have said that he was the true back-bone of the navy, and what inspired victory.

Queen Gioness was also very active in the pursuit of victory for her island. While her King was away she handled all the matters of state, from pensions for soldiers and their families to trade and embargo’s with other islands. She was the force behind raising pay for sea-men and was the reason that the borders of the Yerrian Fishing Guild was extended around other islands. While the war was taking place she was elected, unanimously, as the head of the Guild House, and given the hear-say on almost all decisions.

They are of the duchy of De Run, and the family has held the crown for over a hundred years consecutively.

~+|+~ Grand Admiral Tuton von Strikeel
The Grand Admiral position is coveted by all naval personnel. The position is given to only a single person, and grants that person near unlimited power over all maters of naval exploration and fighting. Tuton is the fourth person to hold the position since the beginning of the war with Sud, only the fifth to ever hold it. He is almost forty years old, diligent in both study and sword-play, and can often be found amongst his sea-men giving words of encouragement.

Grand Admiral Tuton is known for his strength in battle. His men are inspired by his figure, holding the heavy war-hammer he wields, and his enemies cower when fighting him. He is often the first to board another’s ship, and always the last to leave his own. He is an example for all captains and admirals.

~+|+~ Master General Elrick Tussle
The Master General is the head of the marine forces. The positions, as that of Grand Admiral, can only be awarded by the magistrate. In the beginning of the war between Yerria and Sud the position was known still known as Master General, but was held by the leader of the Militia. Instead of being an assault force against other islands it was solely for the leader of the police-type force of Yerria. Through the ensuing battles and what led to be a war, the position was taken from militia to marines. He is well known for his full suit of scale-mail, made from the legendary sea serpents off the Coronian cost, and his six-foot two-handed sword.

~+|+~Watch First Captain Garrett Luscio
The Watch Captain is the position originally called Master General. Though, instead of the watch being the sole means of both offense and defense it has been transformed into a police force only. Now the Watch, headed by Captain Luscio, is grounded in Yerria and stays on the island. They are called to act as last line defense if the time ever arose, and are suppose to both keep peace and offer protection to the normal citizens of Yerria. There are ‘watch houses’, headquarters for the watch, on every island under Yerrian control, and in each is a Captain of the watch. The First Captain is in supreme control though, having first say in all matters from control of riots to head of important investigations. Luscio is well known for his deep-set black eyes, long platinum hair, and overall aspects of a soulless being (the only one in such a high position).

Racial Information:

Name: The Soulless, Soulless, Forgotten, Forsaken

Age: The Soulless mature and age just as a human, but when they reach a certain age they cease to mature any further. Soulless are seen for the first time at a human maturity equal to 10 years of age, and mature for only another 15-20 years. During that time they can either mature quickly or slowly, sometimes appearing 18 years of human age to even 50 years of age. The oldest living of the race is over 300 years old, and none yet have died due to old age.

Attributes: Just as a human, which is exactly what they resemble, the Soulless can be of any build, color, or size. They range from 5’ even to over 6’ 6” tall. They are so diverse and hard to tell from humans that they are often overlooked, even mistaken by humans as other humans.

Regions/Class: They can be found in any reason, found doing any occupation, and are never found living in societies of strictly Soulless. They, instead, are social creatures using other civilizations as their medium for life. Soulless, though normally not known, make up the backbone of armies of humans, they act as scholars, rogues, and even Councilors or Elders. Because of the rather long life span, and desire for adventure, a soulless will always put themselves at the forefront of conflict. They never truly start things, but will always be the first to raise arms and the last to put them down.

Racial Abilities:
[25%] Immune to spec. magic – A Soulless, is immune to most things that would affect the soul. Spells and magic that are directly inflicted on a person/being/creatures emotion or threatens their eternal soul being stolen (enter cliché devil-soul trade here) they are immune to it.

((Because I don’t want to be putting all empathy/emotional mages at a major disadvantage this skill much rise just as any other. Spells of an ‘emo’ like nature will affect them if they are above that 30% mark, but instead of attacking their soul they will mess with the mind and body instead…))

[30%] Communicator – Soulless, being that they have no soul in their body, are able to allow a soul of the dead to inhabit them. This skill is normally used to allow the dead to speak to the living, leaving the Soulless being as a mere medium between the barrier. Unfortunately this skill, if untrained as it is in most Soulless, can be taken advantage of and allow a spirit/soul to force itself into the body without the consent of the being… be they too weak to repel the invader. ((Can be easily trained))

Description:

The Soulless were one of many races created and put forward by the gods. Because Althanas is inhabited by creatures such as Hellions (able to eat the soul of a being and live on it) the Thane created the race of Soulless to balance nature out. They were created at the same time as all other races, and though the Soulless race was equal to all the other races that were their opposites to begin with, the balance has been left to shift as it wills.

A soulless being is ‘spawned’, humans refer to it as created or born because it makes them feel more comfortable with it. Because the soulless beings are neither male nor female, yet sometimes take the appearance as one or the other as they age, they do not reproduce as normal humanoids. There is no intercourse involved with soulless. Instead, they have a mutual transferal of genetic material between two beings. Through locking bodies while nude, hugging basically, they transfer their genetic make-up (there very structure) to one another.

The window for this form of creation occurs only once a year for soulless beings, and only for three months. If the two soulless, both within their time frame for recreation, are successful they form a ‘pod’ on their abdomens (only one of the two, and it isn’t normally known which one until the pod begins to form). To most it looks like the soulless is pregnant, just like a human, and if one looked at the stomach area without clothing covering it they would not be able to tell otherwise. However, after a 5 month gestation period the pod is loosed from the host and must be placed within the respective area’s (Raiaera, Corone’s costal islands, or Haidia) within a moon’s cycle or it will wither and die.

Once placed in the select area the pod will further develop, undisturbed by other pods and must not be contacted by anything besides another soulless. (The reason for that is yet unknown). After a full year of change and development the pod is broken, and it releases a new soulless entity. This entity will have the marks of the two ‘parent’ soulless beings that helped create it. It will be of a maturity equal to a ten year old human, and within 15-20 years it will mature into an adult.

The reason for the three specific locations is unknown, even to the soulless. There is a ‘drawing’ as the soulless have described it, which pulls them to the places, and a certain calm that surrounds them when they enter the areas.

They are almost exclusively from the islands off of the Corone coast. Though exact numbers of those ‘created’ or ‘born’ into Althanas are not kept, the Soulless from the larger island nations are secretly recorded. Over two hundred years Yerria has seen 500 new soulless; Sud 250; Richlund 75; and Valli 150. The average number assumed, including the numbers from the larger islands and the assumed amounts from the smaller ones, is 4300 soulless on Althanas.

Though the islands may not be the only place for the soulless to spawn, it is the only recognized exact location as of yet. There is rumor that they also spawn in the depths of Haidia and the magic infused forests of Raiaera.

I really don't like giving immunities, but I suppose it's low enough.

Approved.
