Linking Profiles Question

So I know that if you have two profiles you can 'link' then in UserCP. What does this do though other than just saying you're linked?

It gives you a fast way to switch between accounts - in the upper right-hand corner of the screen where it says "Welcome, Hysteria", there's a little white arrow. Click it, and the other accounts linked to Hysteria will drop down. You can log into the other accounts just by clicking on them from there.
