Skills, Talents, and Proficiencies

Racial
Fiendish Presence - Passive - Being the child of the joining of a fiend and a mortal gives to one certain aspects of the Fiendish bloodline. Just being around Lianrayel makes one a bit unnerved and perhaps shaky. Those with strong wills can resist this without problem.

Darkvision - Passive - Can see up to 100 feet in complete, natural(non-magical) darkness. Darkvision is black and white, but otherwise is just like normal vision. One with Darkvision is sensitive to bright lights. I.E. Bright flashes can temporarily fully blind and cause disorientation or even nausea.

Class
Shadowweaving - Level 0 - Passive - Shadowweaving is the measure of how well a shadowmancer can control his shadows. It determines how much concentration is necessary to maintain the shadows, how much energy it takes to conjure shadows, and how shaded the area he is in must be to conjure them. It also determines what sort and size of objects he can Shadowcraft. At his current level it takes about the same amount of concentration as aiming an arrow properly, takes a medium amount of energy, and he must be in moderate shade. These all may vary slightly per skill, but these are the general rules. See Shadowcrafting for Shadowcraft details.

Shadowcrafting - Level 0 - Active - Lianrayel can manipulate the shadows to create small, corporeal objects of pure shadow. At the moment he can craft a few, very small objects a day. He must use a mild amount to keep these items corporeal, losing concentration will cause them to collapse back to shadow. Trying to create larger items will result in them being partially to mostly incorporeal and collapsing swiftly. Current Level Example Item - A Coffee Mug

Disc of Darkness - Level 0 - Active - On command, Lianrayel can summon a small, thin, floating, razor sharp disc of shadow. They are equivalent in strength to steel, and can be launched by force of concentration. The require standard concentration(standard as defined by shadowweaving) but only a small amount of energy. He can summon and launch these as long as he can concentrate, is not exhausted, and has standard shade to operate in.

Dispel Shadows - Level 0 - Active - By exerting a large amount of concentration, and using a large amount of energy, he can disperse all shadows in an area surrounding him for 30 feet for as long as he can concentrate. This ability can also be used to dispel shadow spells of an equal or lesser level. Shadow spells of 1 level higher are weakened mildly but not dispelled. Anything 2 levels above him or higher is unaffected.

Weapons
The Evernight - When Lianrayel saw this weapon, he knew it was meant to be his and he dubbed it himself. It is a spear, approximately 6 and a half feet long. It's shaft is made of black oak, and the jagged head is made of black steel.

The Shadowmancer
The Shadowmancer is an arcane spell caster, similar to the sorceror in that his magical talents are innate not learned. Most have the blood of something darker in them, perhaps demons or devils, but not all. The source of his magic is the very shadows found all around us. It is made by light, but is the opposite of light. And so any user of Shadowmancy must be careful not to lose control, or else he may lose his soul to the allure of the darkness.

Tieflings
The result of the mating of a Fiend and a humanoid, they are exiles (forced or self-inflicted). Often they are raised by a single parent, and no matter how they are treated they feel like outsiders. In the Abyss, they are continuously treated like children, regardless of power or age, simply because they can never be as powerful as those around them. With their humanoid families, many feel uneasy around them, even if they look "normal", because of the aura that surrounds them.

Some have wings or tails, even horns. Something will always give away their demonic heritage, whether it is their odd eyes, a smell of brimstone, or a physical oddity. Most have pointed elf-like ears, and all have an eerie aura that frightens animals and makes other sentient beings uncomfortable around them.

In addition, most of them end up following in paths similar to their demonic ancestors, pursuing evil. Those that would try to shed such bonds are often ridiculed by their own kind, or even killed. They are viewed as blood traitors, and their life is all the more dangerous.

Personal Information
Physical Description
Lianrayel stands at 5 feet and 10 inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds. He is fairly slim, though not entirely without muscle, and has very pale skin. Two small, black horns protrude from his skin at his hairline, contrasting to the fiery red mane that cascades down his back and all around his face. He wears a simple, durable black travelling outfit, consisting of just a hooded robe with a tunic and pants underneath. A heavy black rope belts his pants, and his feet are protected by black leather boots. He also has a long, black, non-prehensile tail.

Personality
Lianrayel is a man obviously tortured by inner tragedy. The look upon his face is most often distant and sorrowful. Usually he is quiet, trying to keep to himself. There are very few people on this earth he let's close to him, despite his large capacity for caring. Though his countenance is dark, and his heart is wounded, he is still strong inside, and fights daily the Fiendish blood that courses through his veins, trying to lead him down an even darker road which he has no want or desire to walk.

History
To grow up as the spawn of a demon is difficult. To do so, and then rise above it is, refusing to give in no matter how painful life is, is even more so. It is this which the young Tiefling known only as Lianrayel has done.

Lianrayel does not remember much of his mother, except that she was a kind and beautiful woman, who had a deep sadness about her. Scraps of his mostly broken memory of his young life tell him that he began his life in the streets, and when his mother's life ceased, he was found by an orphanage and his rearing was continued there... despite many of the orphanage's staff's objections. For this boy was no ordinary one, it was obvious to all what he was - the tail and tiny horns on his hairline were hard to hide. Thankfully the headmatron was kindly enough to allow him to stay. Sometimes Lianrayel thinks it would have been better for him if she was not.

Life in the orphanage was cruel, the children gave him no rest with the taunts and teasings. Demon-boy and Devil's Child circled the halls all to often. And though such things often stirred within him anger and a lust for violence and blood, he fought those things down, for such things were not good... and if he were not at the very least a good tiefling boy... well there would certainly be no hope of adoption and finding him a home.

Of course for most of his life, despite all his efforts to be good and remain so, despite his long hours studying and becoming much more learned than the other children, despite his loyalty to those who showed him kindness and his pained kindness to even those who did not, there seemed no hope at all for his adoption. Lianrayel was left alone to his devices, naught but the shadows as his friends. It was not until he was 13 that his luck changed, the day a very old man came to the orphanage, looking to adopt. Naturally, most of the orphanage staff would have immediately denied the old man a child, for he was nearing the end of his years and could not hope to raise a child properly. But when it was Lianrayel that caught his interest, the staff was more than willing to be rid of the boy.

Saying good-bye to those who would speak to him, he left with the old man. Though he was overjoyed at the idea of finally leaving that horrid place, he could not help but wonder what the man's purpose was in adopting him. Soon it was revealed - the elderly man was a mage.... a Shadowmancer. One who controls the very essence of darkness itself. Looking for a student to pass on all he knew of the Shadow Arts, and within Lianrayel he saw the gift required.

The rest of the years of the man's life were spent teaching Lianrayel the way of the Shadowmancer, teaching him to understand how to control the shadows and not let them consume him. And not only this, but it was from this man that Lianrayel learned a father's kindness. To this day, he weeps whenever he thinks of when he came home from purchasing some items for his father only to find the man dead in his sleep. It had simply been the man's time to slip into the Shadows forever, and Lianrayel could at least be glad that the man's death was painless.

At 19 he was alone once more, but armed now with the knowledge of his father, and ready to face the cruelties of the world on his own.

Only one thing really. The Dispell shadow is far to strong... I don't know if I can even allow it at level 0.

If you are going to keep it make the area of effect much smaller, say... 30 ft. And it can affect spells equal to your level and only weaken slightly half the affect one level higher... something like that. But no more.
