Name: Roland Blacksmith
Age: 14
Race: Human
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dirty blonde.
Height: 5’0”
Weight: 90 lbs
Occupation: Fighter/Rogue

Personality:
The young Roland is a very loving boy indeed, but his shyness tends to get the best of him. He finds it difficult to speak when he’s around people unknown to him. Mysterious because of him usually being quiet and trying to be a grown boy and not cry, standing tall like his father always told him to do. Though the boy seems kind and passionate, he also is very stubborn when he has a goal ahead of him, he’ll never give up until its physically impossible.

Appearance:

When you first see the boy, you can just tell he’s a quiet child, perhaps under a great amount of stress that he’s having a hard time bearing. The boy was blessed with his mother’s beautiful green orbs. His shaggy dirty blonde hair was given to him by his father. For fourteen years of age, Roland is very handsome and is yet to experience what love is all about.

You see a poor boy in tattered leather clothing. He doesn’t seem like he can do much with that sword of his. Do not underestimate him though, he’s more then he looks, for his heart is large and strong.

History:

Before we get into the reason why the boy left home alone into the large dangerous world, lets go a little into his younger child hood years. When Roland was at the age seven, his father Jack started to teach him the arts with the sword.

That all was around the time when the child became very fond of his father and wanted to grow to be just like him. His father Jack actually started out was a carpenter, but later became a soldier, going out on quest and not returning for months at a time. Roland would always miss him dearly.

Roland could remember how his mother would always watch them from the window of their home. She would just smile warmly at the two while getting supper ready. The small family lived in a poor village, but they were happy the way they were. It didn’t matter if they were poor, they had each other.

After years of training, Jack finally taught the boy all he knew about swordsmanship. Roland now knew enough he could at least defend himself, nothing fancy. Slowly through the weeks Roland and his mother started to find a flaw about Jack. He was growing weak and tired, something was wrong with him.

On a quiet night, Jack was burning up with a deadly fever. A priest tried healing him, but the man was sick beyond his help. Jack had drowned into a comma like state and if he wasn’t treated, he would sleep a few years and then eventually die.

This struck fear into the boy’s heart. He did not want to lose his loving father. So the next night when his mother was asleep, Roland took his father’s sword and iron buckler. Roland was determined to find a cure for his father, even if it meant searching the world and fighting goblins. When the boy’s mother would wake in the morning, she would find a note explaining him being missing.

Now Roland has a big journey ahead of him, one that he will never forget. Will Roland Succeed in finding a cure for his father, or will Jack fall into the fate ahead of him?

(History will be updated after events)

Skills:

Basic Swordsmanship:

This one is pretty much a given. The boy knows the basics about fighting with a sword and defending himself.

Pick Pocket:

Roland hasn’t mastered this small skill, but he started to get good at it when he was hungry and in need of food.

Lock picking:

With his little lock picking set, he can opened average locks. Some locks tend to take some time and patience.

Weakness:

Roland’s greatest weakness is mind games. For when someone is messing with his head, he tends to break down emotionally. Don’t forget, he’s just a boy.

Equipment:

Roland has some of the basic equipment for traveling, canteen, compass, back pack, and etc. (don’t forget his lock picking set)

For weapons he has a broad sword that he took from his father’s side. There’s nothing special about it.

For armor he has a iron buckler, his leather clothes don’t seem to give him much protection, for they are already tattered and ripped.

A braided necklace with a cross on it, which was given to him by his mother long ago.

What is the broadsword made of?

A very strong Iron, but it could be broken by a stronger metal like Mithril. Theres nothing special about it, Roland will get a stronger weapon through time.
