One Bright Spark

Talen slowly walked along the line of shops. What he wanted was not something that your normal blacksmith would be able to make, at least not the quality that he wanted. The youth found a small store filled with a number of small devices that looked similar to what he needed and stepped inside.

"Excuse me," Said Talen to the small shop keep, "I am looking for a device that I can fit to me wrist that is able to generate a small spark that shoots out about ten centimetres. Maybe two small pieces of flint?"

Karen the Artificer was divine at designing trinkets such as these. Even as the man described what he wanted, she knew how she would go about creating it.

"Let's see, a small leather wristlet with a spring activated flint snap?" She began to doodle on a piece of parchment with some charcoal. It was a simple mechanism, and a great party trick to boot. "How does 80 gold sound to you?"

Talen paused and feigned thinking about it. The price of the trinket seemed exceptionally good to the shadow puppeteer.

“Well, if that’s the best you can do, 80 gold it is.” Said Talen handing over the money.
