Late afternoon. Wearing a mask, the mutant found himself in The Bazaar in Radasanth. Typically, Lorenor wore the attire of a High Priest of N'Jal. However, Radasanth did not take kindly to the followers of N'Jal and he was forced to wear the attire he wore in Salvar. That of a nobleman. He wore his favorite colour which was black. The Vlince was wrapped around his about his body. Noticeably, it was embroidered in purest of gold. Lorenor wore several elegant jewels and kept several artifact pieces upon his person at all given times. He also wore a backpack that was hidden behind a thick, Salvarn hide cloak that warded off the cool afternoon breeze. Lorenor wore a mask too that he'd won in Raiaera recently thanks to his services for The Sway.

The Salvarn cloak had a hood, and at the moment he wore his hood up. As he walked many people stared at the dark nobleman. Giving off a tremendous air of darkness, wise people moved out of the path of the mutant. His goal that afternoon however was not some elegant weapon, piece of armour, or a new artifact of power. No, his goal was entirely different. Lorenor knew that his goal would start a revolution on Althanas, for the industrialist was always on the cutting edge of technology. Spotting the building he sought no less than a block away, the mutant turned towards a Northern direction away from the business and noise of The Bazaar's main shopping districts.

Lorenor was quite familiar and intimate with the economical situation of Althanas. He'd shopped in The Black Market not too long ago, and he'd made several obscure purchases at The Bazaar meant to improve his power. When he finally reached the building he was after, the mutant observed the sign carefully. It creaked gently in the wind. Ancient letters and symbols were etched upon the wooden sign in black. It read: "Real Estate Market." The mutant knew what he was after. No more paying hotels for a few months at a time. Those days are over and done with. Its time I began to hoard property. There was a porch in front of the old building. A single bench was visible that swung on its own thanks to the use of chains. The mutant spotted a single old man sitting on the bench, he wore a wide-brimmed had and smoking pipe rested between his teeth. Lorenor immediately recognized the scent of cannibus.

Looking at the man for a brief moment, Lorenor grinned behind the mask.

"How much for a stack of that cannibus herb?" The mutant had to ask.

That got the man's attention. Raising an eyebrow, he responded with a heavy Radasanth accent.

"We'll discuss that when you're done with whatever business brings you here."

"Very well. I shall see you a bit later."

Stepping up to the counter in the main gathering hall located within the building, Lorenor was addressed by one of the business people there.

"What can I help with today sir?" The man stared at Lorenor with a weary gaze.

"Well its like this. Someone told me that this is the right place to inquire about buying a place to live. I'm looking for either an apartment domicile, or a small house here in Radasanth. Maybe you can help me out? I have good gold to spend."

Lorenor said and he waited for the agent's response...

“Whoever that person was certainly sent you to the right place, if you remember their name I can get them their reward for sending over new prospects.” The man smiled and placed his hands on the desk in front of him. Littered across it were elaborate and beautiful sketches of everything from mansions to shacks by the docks. Real Estate in Radasanth was a dwindling market, mostly due to the civil war that had finished but was still causing havoc here and there. “Anyway, let’s get to business. What kind of place are you looking for? I gots anything from your noble mansions to your hovel shacks. Uptown apartments, and downtown flats. It’s your choice, and the amount in yer pockets that determines what exactly you’d be lookin’ at, of course.”

Remembering the name of the man who sent him to the agency, Lorenor considered revealing that information. Information was never free, was never cheap, and was always power. The High Priest studied the man before him very carefully. Merchants were a lot that oft dabbled in dirty dealings. Under normal circumstances, Lorenor would have settled for a simple shack to call home. However, these were not normal circumstances. I must be cautious. I cannot just reveal the identities of personal contacts. I will need to proceed with caution. I know not the way of The Merchant's Guild. When he heard that his contact would be rewarded, the man decided it would be safe to reveal that information.

"He calls himself Sullivan. Luther Sullivan."

Clearly, the name was a code-name and not really the true identity of his contact. To the business man before him, the contact's alias should have been enough information. These days, Lorenor dealt with upper class folk in Corone, and had learned from experience that most noblefolk were a shady lot. Greedy bastards that would stab their mothers in the spine for a gold piece. Lorenor understood the stakes. He listened to the words of the man as he attempted to analyze them.

"An apartment near The Bazaar will do with at least two bedrooms. We'll start there and work our way up." Lorenor tapped his chin. "What will be the ballpark figure of gold for such an investment?" The mutant was in a game now. He knew that the merchant-folk were a devious lot, and he would not allow them to have their way. Lorenor waited for the man's response.

“We have small one person flats near the Bazaar for 1400 gold. A one bedroom apartment would be 2000 gold, and a two bedroom like you requested would be 2800 gold. Of course, these are unfurnished apartments and are basic and unadorned. Nothing special. However, the pricing is higher due to the fact that you are in the capital of Corone, as well as wanting a place above a rather high appeal district.” The agent turned three sketches towards the man, pointing to each one as he named their price. The sketch was grandiose at best, with an outline of the floor plans beneath each individual one. “The only pre-furnishings that are already there are of course a bed and wash pan, as well as the general kitchen outline that you would expect. All other furnishings can be easily purchased though, it would be a matter of contract agreements and more money for anything extra though.”

Listening to the details of the purchase, Lorenor nodded meaningfully. This was the first step to creating a real-estate empire. Young in the ways of the mogul, Lorenor had not yet figured out how to turn his fiefdom into a profit. He already had a pretty good idea of what he sought. Being light-sensitive, he would only ask one specific modification be made to the apartment. If they could do it, all the better. He worded his request very carefully so that it would not raise suspicion.

"I am somewhat sensitive to Light." Lorenor began. "I prefer dark places. If there are windows outfitted in the apartment, could you possibly remove the windows and fill the spaces in before I move in with my stuff? Also, another thing, can I have people living with me?" Lorenor was a man of details. In the world of Althanas minor details could come back later and bite you in the ass...

"I'll take the apartment complex for 2,800 plus the modification I asked for."

"You want me to... fill in the windows?" The agent had been in the business a long time, but a request to remove windows was something altogether new. Bigger windows, elaborate glass placed in their place that was the sort of request he had heard many times over. That was the sort of request that got more money coming his way from commission. Filling them in, that was something he wasn't sure he could even charge for. "Alright, that can be done. I can't reasonably charge for you to not have windows, so we'll stick to the base price for that one."

The wiry man smirked and scribbled a few notes on the piece of paper with the two bedroom sketch and layout on it. He tapped a small bell and before the chime stopped rebounding off the walls a young boy had appeared from the hallway behind him. "Take this to the appropriate place, have the requisition completed before our customer gets to his house. It shouldn't take more than a little bit to block those off, and I better not have him coming back and complaining about it."

The boy nodded quietly, unfazed by the near-to tongue lashing he had received. "As for guests or others living with you, I don't care. As soon as you sign the original document like the one I just sent off, that house is all yours. You can do what you want, furnish it how you want, and have whoever over that you desire. Just sign on the bottom line and get me the gold and you'll be set."

He listened quite carefully to what the man said. Every detail was absorbed, every bit of information calculated. Lorenor realized he could work with the man, his client, Luther Sullivan, had done him justice. Folding his arms across his chest, Lorenor smiled behind the mask. The rules of the game were in place, and Lorenor would finally have a place to call home. Though it was true he owned a Fiefdom, Lorenor didn't do much with it. He knew he would have to remedy that...

"Very well. I shall sign the documentation."

Lorenor moved towards the documentation and signed his name where it needed to be signed. There were no code-names or aliases. He used his real name for the signature. Lorenor V'Halkulus. Businessman extraordinaire.

"Here is the money good man." Lorenor removed a small pack that contained his money. He pulled out the exact 2,900 Gold. He added an extra 100 gold pieces to tip the man for a service well done. "The extra bit is a tip for you. I know it isn't much but it'll do for now. You will be seeing a lot of me in the near future." Lorenor had plans for Radasanth, and what that would mean? Only N'Jal knew.

Neatly the agent collected the paper and shoved them into the desk at his side, quickly filed perfectly from years of practice. "Very good, here is the key, and a small map with directions on which house exactly is yours. Feel free to stop by again any time!"

Done.

Lorenor loses 2900 gold and gains a 2 bedroom apartment in the Bazaar and 25 exp.
