View Full Version : Rebuilding Underwood

Ok, I just learned Underwood got destroyed in the Corone Civil War, so I want to rebuild it as something Sei can do for cannon.

If enough people are interested, I'll make this a series of quests.

Might even try to restore Knife's Edge while we're at it.

So who's in?

I would be interested, Azza's current time line though is... "Pre Underwood destruction." So... I'm not exactly sure how it's gonna work. But I'm certainly interested.

I'm sure we'll come up with something.

Who else wants to be constructive?

This thing just screams woodsman...*coughcoughRevnantgetyourbuttinherecoug hcough*

When did an entire forum get destroyed without anyone noticing? Blowing up the newbie zone seems to be in pretty poor taste. Who decided it should be canon in the first place?

I'm with Visla.

The Civil War has been in limbo for so long it's in bad taste to suddenly move it into the current canon without any sort of accurate portrayal of events.

The Underwood Sub-forum, whilst not exactly active, is a core part of the Realm of Greeting/New Player arrangement; if somebody decided that the town is suddenly destroyed, and we're expected to 'fudge it with liquid time,' I'm sorry, but that was a grossly miscalculated decision.

After speaking with Visla about it, I've decided that he's right, and we need to scrap Underwood being destroyed entirely. Close this thread OOC mods.

Related note, I will find a way to destroy something so we can rebuild it guys, I just don't know what yet.

I wouldn't mind rebuilding Knife's Edge, but we have one problem: We don't know who rules Salvar. The king died in the FQ, the chuch lost, and the league didn't have a clear leader but rather a myriad of nobles that were supporting the king. We could make shit up but it'll all be washed over once someone finally decides to make some canon for Salvar.

edit: I don't think Task's thread would solve this alone... I think Ashiakin's FQ thread has the king killing but I'm not sure, but there's no mention anywhere on the forums on what sort of government takes place after the war.

How about you write the new King of Salvar, and submit it for consideration for Canon in the relevant thread Rayse?

A while ago I did submit an idea where Salvar has broken up into several smaller states ruled by the individual Barons that were leading The League.

It's also possible to have an oligarchy if you want a united Salvar, since all that's left now is a bunch of nobles with power. An oligarchy would work well since it's very tyrannical in nature, leads to a lot of tension and suffering and attempts by nobles to control the populace, and has a chance of breaking down into democracy through reform/revolution. Just have the Barons be at the top and there you go.

Or you can... have some sort of new king? Is that what you're suggesting? I have no idea how you would've expected me to do that, so maybe you could submit that on your own.

As far as I know, there is only someone's word backing up the destruction of Underwood... no clue when or how it happened as I haven't found a single thread backing it up.

I read the thread that was about Knife's Edge being destroyed, and I must say, it wouldn't have destroyed an entire city. The Cathedral of Denebriel, yes. The catacombs, yes. The entire city, no way that would have happened from that thread.

Rayse's idea about what to do with Salvar in the thread he started a while back is intriguing and will probably be a huge idea coming into what we have planned for Salvar. As it stands, I'm not entirely sure what happened with the church v. Sway. All I know is that the St. died and that the King went into hiding/exile. I'm tearing through as many threads as I can right now to make sure that all the things that were possibly canon are lined up correctly so that it all makes sense and each thread can flow into each other.

The mod force is currently re-organizing and preparing to make sure everything is up to date and the canon threads are all correct. We'll be incorporating everything into the wiki that's up to date and we'll have it all out as soon as we can. Instead of throwing duct tape of the broken pipes we're trying to fix it all at once and release it all together as one thing. It may take a few months, as the very least, but it'll all be coming out when we get it all explained and fixed.

Damn it, it's hard to wade through all that garbage to find the info you need. I'm fairly sure that Saxon is the one who told me the score, but I'm not 100% anymore. That last thread of his seems to imply that the only untouched areas were The Merchant's Quarter, which was barricaded, and Rath-whatever Square, which was controlled by The Sway at the time of The League's final push (so we can assume it was under siege and destroyed as well). I asked Saxon about it, and in my FQ thread I pretty much describe the residential districts as totaled before the thing even started.

But, I don't care about the little details. It's already been over half a year, if you don't at least have a very generic government body to declare then you never will. I'm going to assume there's an oligarchy and smaller, provincial governments with the local nobles as governors until someone tells me otherwise. Once I'm out of college I won't have time for this stuff anymore, I can't just sit around and wait.

i agree with orphans on the wiki

ON A SIDE NOTE, I NOMINATE ME FOR LEADER OF KNIFE'S EDGE!

i wanna make it into a socialism/communism. wahahah

sei, i'd be honored the ixian knights supported me, as i intend to do it legit and implement it properly. that way, everyone should be happy.

of course, it would be a complex set of rules on how knife's edge is operated that i would have to write out so that future people writing stories in knife's edge know how it works.

either that or ill just implement an underground capitalism that runs the streets like a mafia but in "supportive" way that actually helps the people and hurst the nobles. think robin hood.
