I've got me a ps3 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, I was wondering if anybody else had the ps3, that game and a gamer tag. If you got one, mind lending me your gamer-tag so I can hit you up. I'm in dire need of some online buddies for that game.
Sorry. I got the game (if you mean MW2), but it's for the 360.

What is with everyone and 360's? I mean yeah they are okay, but in the long run, ps3's are better. As for computers, That is a no brainer. Pc's are the winner there

Okay Uttam, let me give you a quick rundown before bed. Note that I have a 360, a ps3, and a wii, and a custom built PC.
The PS3 functions as a blu-ray player, which the 360 does not.
The ps3 has an HDMI output which provides much higher quality graphics. The PS3 has better quality graphics in general.
The data-storage format of the PS3 allows for less discs. For example, FFXIII for the 360 has 3 discs, whereas the PS3 has one disc.
The new PS3 Slim is smaller than the 360.
The PS3 controllers don't run on batteries the way the 360 controller does. They recharge via USB from the computer or via the system and do not waste your money. The 360 would only have rechargable properties from third-party products such as rechargeable batteries or a battery-pack.
The PS3 allows free internet usage and does not require you to buy a membership.
Also, do note that there are very few titles that are released these days that are console-specific. VERY few. Some that come to mind are maybe Gears of War and Halo. Then there's Nintendo games, but those aren't generally for the hardcore gamer.
Alright, while I personally can see how the PS3 is superior to the 360. My opinion is I prefer the feel of the 360 to the PS3. I was more comfortable with the feel of the controller, the prince difference when I bought it.
So personally, it's mostly just a comfort thing to me. That and I love Alan Wake.
well mr.artemis i believe Ps3 is shut down there will be no advances for some time
while the 360 will be constantly updated and more and more there will even be virtual reality
also Ps3 has bin through 3 stages and a mini (PSP) lol
but the 360 has bin through only 2 in much less time without a mini

i never really cared much for xbox. i never really liked how the controller fit into my hands. I greatly preferred the PS and PS2 controllers. I've also yet to see a game on the xbox that i wanted to play that didn't also come out for PS(version whatever) or Wii.
To me, that the PS systems have a mini is a plus, because it is that much more games that I can play on a similar system of play.
All in all though, I'm perfectly happy with my PS2 and Wii *shrug*

Then there's Nintendo games, but those aren't generally for the hardcore gamer.I agree on most of these points except the graphics one. I too have a PS3, a 360 and a custom built PC. And if you take the PC out of the equation, there is not that much difference in graphics between the PS3 and 360. If you take multi-platform games that come out for both systems, you usually won't notice any differences unless you either get very, very close to your TV or you do a real time comparison. Now, I'm not saying there aren't any. PS3 is clearly the more powerful, more refined platform with way more potential, especially when it comes to the processing power. But it doesn't really have "much higher quality graphics", especially if you plug in the 360 via HDMI as well.
Now, there is one clear advantage that the 360 has over a PS3, and it's actually the reason why I bought one. It can play copied games. If you invest a bit of money into modding your Xbox, you can pretty much download just about any game for free and burn it on your PC. You cannot do this with a PS3, and you probably never will. It does raise other questions like legality or morality, but I live in a poor country and I can't afford to fork out 70€ (little under 100$) for every game I'm interested in.
that ending was kinda sad man *sniffle*
still i agree with Letho 360s are advanceing Ps3 is at a standstill
I never said that 360 is advancing and PS3 does not. I think they're both trying to make a step forward, 360 with Kinect and PS3 with Move, unnecessary and misdirected though it may be. I rather dislike this game of catch up they're trying to play with Nintendo, trying to take a piece of that market, but that's no surprise because I never really fancied Nintendo. Well, not since SNES anyways.
Bottom line is, these kind of arguments are rather pointless. Whichever platform you play on nowadays, you're practically guaranteed to have loads of fun. Personally, I'm neither a PS3 nor a 360 fan. I own them because some games come out exclusively for them and some are easier to play on them. But I'm happiest with the good ole keyboard and mouse on the good old PC.

Okay, I actually had this console debate with my best friend yesterday, and here's a good comparison to the 360 and the PS3
Say you're driving down the road, and you find this beautiful woman on the street. You pull over and find out she's a hooker, and a virgin (it's her first day). So yeah, you're super excited she's new, and that you might get the first crack at her. You ask if she wants a ride, and she says it's 100 bucks. You pay, she gets in, you drive.
Now, you ask for her to do something naughty, but simple, and she charges you an extra 50 bucks. You are reluctant, but you do it. Then, you want her to go a step further into he foreplay, and she charges you another 50 bucks. You're getting irritated at this point, but still pay your money. Now, you want to go all the way, and guess what? Another 50 bucks. Now you're just so pissed you don't even want her anymore.
Now, keep in mind I'm using basic models here. 20 gig for the PS3 and XBox Arcade versions of the consoles. The XBox is pretty and cool, but it is not backwards compatible without dishing out cash, it does not do blu ray without dishing out cash, it does not have rechargable controllers without dishing out cash, and it does not give you online play without dishing out cash.
Now say you saw a girl at a young age, grew up together, she was your best friend, and you got married. It's your honeymoon and you're thinking 'surely she won't do -this-'. All of a sudden, it is her who suggess it. So you're super excited, and think she won't do something else, which she also suggests. The wedding may have been expensive, but she made it worth every penny that night.
PS3 gives you free online play, easily rechargable controllers, backwards compatibility (all PS3s play PS1 games at least), and blu ray. Three of those things I had not expected upon purchase.
As far as exclusive games go, it's a matter of taste. XBox has Halo, KOTOR (Stupid mistake letting The Old Republic go to PC, microsoft), Fable and Alan Wake, whereas PS3 has Little Big Planet, God of War, Heavy Rain, and until a few months from now, Metal Gear Solid. And with Twisted Metal announced exclusively for the PS3, well....it just seems like not only are more exclusive titles heading our way, but -better- and classic titles are heading our way.
360 is still better lol comfortable instead of x o and square or triangle lol

The only thing I have against PS3 is that upon release with its $600 price tag, the President of Sony said that I should feel honored to work overtime to be able to afford his piece of crap.
Fuck him.
Since then the price has dropped significantly and though I don't have one yet, one day I'll pony up as there are plenty of games that I'm eager to play.

Yeah Letho, but she's a hooker with a heart of gold.
In all seriousness, I really enjoy my Wii. Yeah it doesn't have the 'hardcore' games that seem to be the only thing that matter as far as games go nowadays, but there are plenty of nice, casual relaxing games on it. I love coming home from work and tossing a couple rounds of Frisbee Golf on Sports Resort or tagging some zombies on Umbrella Chronicles. It also says something that both XBox and PS3 have suddenly decided to play catch-up on the motion thing.

The Wii is starting to kick in with better games (Like, Metroid Other M, Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword, Donkey Kong Returns, Kirby Epic Yarn, Golden Eye, and other games that go further down the list that look actually quite great.) . Graphics ... meh.
Don't get me wrong, bad graphics will ruin a game, but I think people's obsession with perfect resolution down to the tiniest detail has actually done more harm than good in the gaming industry. How many games have you played that sacrifice on story and gameplay because the developers had to spend so much time making it look as 'realistic' as possible?

A sequel to Metroid, a sequel to Zelda, a revamp of the Donkey Kong and the sequel to Mario which is already out (Galaxy 2 or whatever). The cycle just keeps repeating itself. I love how everyone is sitting here yelling about 360 stealing money out of my wallet...
When they fail to mention that the ps3 online community is a bunch of twats. When you give away access to online games you tend to find that anyone and everyone is a troll, because if a name gets banned, you're back on in fifteen minutes for free. X-box live cares a lot more about its community than that, hence the purge of systems from live not too long ago.
Also, I play fighting games, and I'm sorry I HATE HATE HATE the PS3 controller for them. I feel like I'm either playing with a limp noodle on the analog stick, or that I'm grinding the controller into dust with the Dpad. I don't care if the resolution of the fighting game is unnoticeable but better.
Also, PS3 constantly loads, I'm surprised no one mentioned this, but when you THINK a ps3 is done loading, its not, it's still loading in the background and you may have to wait for loading to complete. 360 loads quick, part of that smaller disc thing I guess.
Other than MGS4 I have yet to see a ps3 exclusive title that actually calls to me. I'm not gonzo for god of war. I don't care particularly much for nintey nine knights...
Also to talk to you about that analogy its more like this Sei...
PS3 is the girl who you marry and suddenly she does all these great things, but suddenly she decides she doesn't want to do X anymore. You sit there and you say okay, thats fine, then she won't do Y anymore, and again you think its okay, then she doesn't do Z anymore and you realize...you're looking at a carbon copy of the girl on the street corner because she ain't offering much incentive NOT to go to her.
PS3 started out backwards compatible, then they dropped true compatibility for emulation, and lowered the price. Then you had another price drop, and guess what happened? That's right, emulation got dropped. From here on out PS3 is competing with PS2 because there is NO way for new consumers of the ps3 to get Emulation or even backwards compatibility without hunting one down used.
That's right, your so called lower price tag came at a price boys...and I don't think it was a smart one. When the difference between backwards compatibility and not is 100 bucks, you gotta ask yourself what the hell Sony is thinking.
While 360 isn't completely backwards compatible, they made an effort to make all the games they knew people were player WERE.
Excuse me if I go with the 360 over a model that screams to me "FUCK YOU FANS TAKE MY MIDDLE FINGER!"
That and Sony reps seem like rabid fanboys who are crass and unprofessional. That however may be just my personal accounts with them.

Though Zelda is one of my favorite series, the original Legend of Zelda was the first game I ever beat, I have to agree. I sat down to play Twilight Princess and quickly realized that it was just Ocarina of Time with a wolf. A shitty, annoying wolf. It's as if the Zelda crew says "well this was popular, if we do it again it will be just as good." Bah.
That's not to say that all 'franchise' games are clones of one another, but it would be nice to see some fresh titles coming out. I think the fact that they at least have these games shows that non-party games can be made for the Wii, someone just needs to do it.
I agree, like while the Mario games were crap after Mario 64. I think Nintendo actually achieved something with Mario Galaxy and Galaxy 2.
Platforming was something you just got used to quickly, but now you had to do it upside-down and backwards? And factor in objects with gravitational pulls?
It was a good addition in my opinion, but I don't think they should start spitting out more and more versions of it.

So.. for some clarity...
I bought an xbox 360 4 years ago because a store was opening a "gaming" section and they had a huge sale, where you could get the 360 for 100$ off. so instead of 300, i paid 200. took that puppy home with a smile on my face.
The ps3 I got because of God of War 3, and i threw in final fantasy 13 for it since i might as well give it SOMEWHAT of a library. plus, I liked the slim version that had recently come out due to smaller size and matte finish. I have had a ps1 and ps2 so I love the controller, but I don't have any preference over any. So, I got the ps3 within the last year.
Then I got the Wii... about 2 weeks ago for monster hunter tri.
i stuck to the 360 for the most part, and the only reason i got the ps3 is because the price was low enough, I could get the blu-ray player, and there was a good game coming out and likely a few more that are exclusive. (I also borrowed unchartered 2 and beat that, which was exclusive and good).
I don't prefer one over the other, but if there was a game that was for all 3 systems, I'd go with the ps3 first, then the 360.
I have no videogames, no consoles, no boards. Watching you people whine has been both a pleasure and incredible pain.

I only have a 360 because my girlfriend bought it for her ex, and kept the receipt. When they broke up and I got back together with her, she pulled that receipt out and said that it was hers and took it. So I play the 360 now. Granted, I was never a huge fan of the PS line's controllers, and granted I think the graphic quality of certain games are a little better, if you are scrutinizing it, on the PS3... I don't have one. I have an HDMI cord, a big HD TV (also my gf's lol), and a bunch of close friends that use the 360. So I stuck with it.
On that note, I don't know if there is a "one system is better than the other"... mainly because I've never actually played a PS3. I got a 360, relatively free, so why spend money on another system? I don't watch blue-ray's because I have DVD's. And I already have games and netflix set up on my 360, so I'll probably just stick with it. :p

Sei, that is a terrible analogy. You know nothing of sex workers! Different acts cost different amounts of money. You should ask how much it is to go all the way if that's what you intend.
Two-hundred and fifty dollars for a hot, virgin (STD free, thus not the 360) whore and you're complaining? Christ man, you have some high expectations.

I'm just tired of the PS3 is flawless debates. That's all. It's not, its a machine and machines have problems. 360's was in part bad design, then they got Jasper, but ps3 fanbois still rage on about RROD then the PS3 has a software failure over the stupidest thing EVER and they pretend it never happened.
I want to ask why a machine basically throws a hissy fit and potentially erases trophy data over the loss of a leap year?

Bad programming. Everyone does it. Sony, Machintosh, Toshiba, Little robot overlords, Arcsys. Everyone. Stop the debate, it's over. There is no superior system than the glory of GOD...

He does not! Didn't you see the noahs arc game based on the doom engine? Instant classic I mean, it was based off DOOM!
(P.S. I wish I was joking)

Never played that one (though I know of it). I did play the one that was a rip-off of Zelda, but since I'm a Zelda fan I didn't think it was that bad.
Except for the random bible verse pop quizzes. Uf....

Lol. But seriously Heretics. God-Emperor of Mankind demands you put away all your toys and sign up for the guard. The universe isn't going to save itself and the Emperor protects by sending your meaty bodies to the front line.

Cept' on Planet Tacotopia.

(P.S. I wish I was joking)Wait, wasn't it based on the Wolfenstein engine? Like, instead of Nazis, you went around shooting goats and shit? I think it's Wolfenstein.

Yeah it was Wolfenstein, not Doom. And it was one of those games that you had to plug into a real game because it was unlicensed.

No because the Emperor Demands TACOS! (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/237049)

Never lose faith that the emperor is with you, Leroy. The god emperor is listening to all we say, all we think, and knows all we know. Embrace the emperor of mankind.

Pat, I love you but...
If you buy a PS3, first you buy Metal Gear 4. It pushes every game to the limit graphically and the story is essential. Then you buy God of War III. I'm not sure about your present testosterone levels but the game will make you want to murder someone. Then go buy Little Big Planet. I made three or four levels, you probably won't be able to beat them unless I tell you how. Do you like baseball? The Bigs practically dominates the sport. I hate baseball but I love the game. What about multi-ports you ask? Just go to gamefaqs and listen to how douche the COD people are. Trust me I know I'm one of them. Dead Rising two (one principle reason to buy an Xbox) is rocking the PS3.
On a side note, PS3 is wireless built in. Only recently (since E3) did Microsoft cash in on the whole "we should put built in wireless to our consumers. I work at BBY. 9 times out of 10 I recommend a PS3 to a person my age as it simply does what that Xbox won't. At this particular juncture, the only thing Xbox does better is multiplayer. Still, with Sony stealing away 3rd party support and adding PS3 Plus, I'm not sure how long Microsoft can manage. GoW2 and L4D 2 are great games, sure, but for the past year and a half Sony has dominated the adult console race.
Ironically Nintendo is leading mostly because of the DS overall. Plus my mom likes Wii and she's like 60. This is sad. This is the end of my rant. Basically buy a PS3 and come posse up with me on RDR. The end.
