View Full Version : A Thank You to Althanas Staff

Well, I think this is important, and I don't get the vibe that people are thankful. I want to create a venue for some people to give their appreciation, and I'll start.

I'm somewhat new to the website, and I'll admit that, but I've been pretty active since joining. I've not done this before, yet I've had multiple people tell me that this is one of the very best places to be, and I'm glad that I started here.

I wanted to send out a thank you to all the staff members who are currently active.

Sei was the first to message me when I made my account and greet me, he's been writing with me, and most of all he's been tolerating me. He continues to make people feel welcome and offers to write with them and get them started.

Letho has been fun to chat with, especially with the World Cup, but he's been very active in the ROG forums and I can expect that if a new character is up, it'll have a post from him within 24 hours.

Revenant is putting up those judgments and hopefully is bringing back the monthly competition, and I'm looking forward to reading some of the entires.

Atzar, though no longer a mod, was always willing to help me with my writing and give constructive feedback on my posts even before they were submitted, which really helped.

Task, though he does a ton of work behind the scenes, is still on the front lines with judgments and ROG help when he can, always taking that extra step. I know how hard he is working, and I just hope he finds time to relax as well.

There's plenty more I can say about these mods, there's plenty of other people on this forum that I'm thankful for, and there are surely other mods who are slipping my mind at 2:00 AM as I write this thank you.

So here's the venue. Take some time and let them know how you feel. They don't get paid, they do this for the love of what they do and to help us out. I've done writer's workshops and I can guarantee judging isn't easy or quick. Show them that they aren't going unnoticed or unappreciated.

I'm pretty new as well, but everything Artemis has said is very true as far as I can tell. My character got approved the very next day if I remember correctly, and all of my threads have been judged very quickly and the judges have left very useful commentary and suggestions. I'm not sure I would enjoy writing here as much if there were no judgment process, so I'm very thankful all the staff take the time to provide that process.

I hope to stay here quite a while and get to know some of the mods a little better.

EDIT: Glad this post isn't being judged, I said "very" like 10 times in 4 sentences.

Story: 0/30 I'm sorry I got no feeling of the story behind the post...

Mechanics: 12/30 You've had better posts, and you used very like, a million times in one post...

Character: 0/30 I got nothing on who you are and how that relates to your post!

Wildcard 10/10 I'm mainly doing this as a spoof so you get points for having me come out of hiding to do this...

EDIT: Now that this has had some time to fester...

You are welcome, and thank you for the gratitude. It helps us when we get some thanks, no matter how small for our efforts.

I have to say that without the mods and admins here the whole place would have deteriorated into a shit hole ages ago. I'm glad we have so many great mods who give insight and keep the whole thing running.

Quoted for for completely apparent truth, completely apparent.

They're doing a good job, and I'm grateful for the service and future advice they provide, also kind of impressed, most sites never reach this kind of quality. My only concern is just why there are fewer and fewer of them?

Cause some of them get dragged away by RL events. Some lose internet, some move, or something unexpected happens, like a death in the family. Or some go through writers block.

Or, to add to Wolfie's examples as a former mod who is friends with two other former mods: school. School is a super-major free time killer...

But yeah. Thanks, you forever varying staff!

Nothing says "thank you" to us as much as activity on Althanas, because that usually means that we're at least doing something right and people are having fun. But we appreciate this gesture as well.

Well when a mommy thread and a daddy thread love each other very much....

Friction occurs, and when a high enough temperature is reached, they spontaneously combust and result in forum activity.

No but really Cyrus, I wasn't around two years ago =)

You can do that for a thank you thread but you can't get your butt to judging Jungle Fever?!

Anyways, thanks shouldn't be shot at me. I'm just doing what I love helping people get better, th0ough I do appreciate that it's being noticed.

As a result, let me thank all of you for being so gratuitous towards us mods, as well as being a kick ass bunch of roleplayers to roll (pun intended) with.

Oh, and I've just multiplied all of you guy's experience by 1. As well as your GP to show my appreciation. Ain't I the greatest?

yarh... I'm trying to remember how I ever came about to this site. Don't really know but I'm glad for it.

I remember some of the older faces and such, and I remember asking the mods a lot with what to do with a character. ^ ^

Friendly folk and such, as long as you're reasonable~

Awww.... jeesh.

*looks down sheepishly*
*holds hands behind back*
*twists toes in the sand*

A big "thank you" back at all of you for bulking up on activity as of late. There's no use being a judge if there's nothing going on to judge.
