So I don't know if any of you are fans of the Food Network, but there's this show called "The best thing I ever ate...."

Basically, the famous chefs have a "theme" that they follow on that particular show and they talk about the best thing they ever ate in that "theme" and can tell you where to get it. I live in the NYC area so a lot of them are near by.

There's also a show called "Food Feuds" which is basically a particular food done two different ways and the host picks the best one. I've seen meatballs, cheesecake, Philly cheese steaks, and there'll be more.

My point for this thread is if you've ever eaten something worth mentioning that just blew you away, tell us where to find it, what it is, and describe the experience (as a writer).

Also, post a big area you live near and maybe I'll see something on the show that I can share. Some of the common locations are the ones you can expect famous people to visit; Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, Miami, so forth.

Finally, there's also a more random show which is called "Diners, Drive-ins and dives." which are more random locations, so if you live in a certain area and I see it, I can post it there too.

SO tell me, what's the best thing you ever ate, and where can I get it?

My wife and I vacation quite a bit, and one of our favorite things to do is indulge in the local fair. Hands down our most memorable meal, in terms of food quality, was experienced at The Left Bank (http://www.leftbankrestaurant.com/) in Buffalo NY. It wasn't overly pricey, and the food was tremendous. I had the Cheese Tortellini and my wife ordered Penne with grilled steak “au poivre”. Being "that couple", we traded plates halfway through the meal, so I can attest to both being exquisite. Nice atmosphere as well, and close to the concert hall and Albright-Knox if I remember correct.

We live near Cleveland, so there are a handful of Michael Symon restaurants within thirty minutes or so. We've eaten at Lola, but I don't recall being that impressed. Certainly not for the money spent...
