I'm an avid gamer. I own all the current gen consoles (Even have the slim ps3 and the new xbox 360, though I still have my Launch date Wii.)

I have a DS Lite that I really only pic up and play Chrono Trigger every once in a while. My PsP sees more play time when I'm in transition to and from work.

I mostly play RPGs, FPS and Action titles. Though I'm a huge fan of RTS games there aren't that many great ones on the consoles besides Halo Wars and C&C Red Alert 3.

So what does everyone own? Favorite game/console? Or discuss anything else game related if you wish.

Favorite current game right now is Smash Brothers Brawl. Don't challenge me unless you're actually good...

I own a PS3 slim, a 360, a wii, and a DS.

I personally really liked Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Also was a fan of Ninja Gaiden. Finally, the Pokemon series, which is the only reason I ever bought any Gameboys. Plenty of other games that I've played and were kinda fun, but nothing really matched up to these.

EDIT: Forgot the Assassins Creed series. Love that too.

Mostly I just get really frustrated with the brevity of games. They take years to develop and less than a day to beat. I think most new games average out around 12-ish hours for me. If that. (Single player)

I'm one of those "gamers" that pick up a game, play for a little bit, then ditch it for a while before playing it again three months later. Thus, I love roleplaying games for that exact same reason; as long as you're not jetting through the storyline in two nights (see: Star Ocean, Kingdom Hearts II...), they last you a while. Sometimes, a long while.

I own a Wii, the old Playstation 2 (and no, not that crappy slim one), and a regular DS. I still go out to Gamestop and sometimes buy a couple of old PS2 games sometimes, just to enjoy the "oldies". Silent Hill, Dynasty/Samurai Warriors (because we all know they're the same thing), a little Final Fantasy...yeah, you can see on our shelf the usuals. The big wigs.

I don't like RTS's. Don't know why, just don't. So you won't see me playing Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty any damn time soon.

And Arai? I own the Super NES copy of Chrono Trigger.

Yeah. Suck it.

Nice. Except you can't take you're SNES away from a power source and play it, haha. Good job having an original though.

I play all the Samurai Warrior and Dynasty warrior games that come out as well. You play the Warriors Orochi series?

I also agree with the length of games nowadays. I've been waiting for Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 for what seems like forever, sit down and beat it in less than a day. What kind of BS is that? Luckily I only rented it or I'd be truly peeved.

I actually bought Fable 3 on a whim because I enjoyed the first two, though I had plenty of problems with them too. Honestly, I've been so disappointed that I'm still sitting there without having beat it, even though the game is about 10 hours long to beat. It's devastating. At least God of War 3 gives me enough because of a personal vendetta to have beaten the series on the hardest difficulty setting, and I did. Still, most games just don't have the duration.

Lord Anglekos
11-08-10, 01:08 PM
You should try Gamefly.com for that problem.
No, I haven't, and at this time have no intentions to do so; after "beating" both series, I've found I've hand my fill of one-versus-a thousand. I can't really play a game that doesn't give a feeling of "growth", if you know what I mean. The Warriors series are games that don't really "progress"; they just "are".
I haven't play the Unleashed games. Yet. Although I'd like to do so; but yeah, the shortness of the game is slightly pushing me away. I'd rather appreciate the storyline from a distance than waste seven bucks on a game where I know when and what everything is going to happen.
Even the Final Fantasy games seem slightly shorter nowadays. I was replaying FF9 about a year back, and I was shocked when I got to the last "area" within a few days. Granted, I was playing straight through; weekends gave me too much time off. But still, I was surprised. I only hope that Versus XIII isn't as "quick".
EDIT: Ten hours? For Fable 3? Man, is the system fucking us over.

There was pretty widespread disappointment with how linear and brief FF 13 was

I remember. Developers are saying that Versus XIII will bring back a return to the nie-open ended fields and whatnot, like in XII. I'm hoping that they make good on their promises, this time around.

Though I was never in to console systems, there was a time when I used to call myself a gamer. Then I got a job, then I got married, and then I had a child. Still, whenever completing a form that asks for the name of my mother or father I simply enter: Ultima Online.

If anyone comes across 8 years of existence, that'd be mine and I'd like it back.

I use Gamefly, and to me it's a Godsend. I can play everything I want for only $21 a month for 2 games and don't have to settle for disappointment if a particular title isn't work the $60 I would have paid for it had I not had GF.

Working at Gamestop and being able to rent games helps too.

Currently, I own a PS3 Slim which I play on occasionally, Xbox360 which is gathering dust, PSP which gets recalled to active duty on occasion, PS2 which is in a box somewhere, and despite all that, I play most of my games on a PC. I grew up on a PC and picked up my first console only around the time of PS2 and I never truly got into them. I mean, I appreciate all the advantages that they have and I do love to play certain games on them, but chances are, if there's a game is multiplatform, I'll play it on a PC. And before you ask me why I own that many consoles when I don't play them, the answer is because I fucking can.

Still, there are some things I do enjoy on the consoles. I'm pretty addicted to Resident Evil 5. I own both the regular and the gold edition, I've beaten it on every difficulty and I'm currently working on getting the SS rank on every scenario in the Mercenaries/Mercenaries Reunion. Other than that, I love MGS series and I'm playing MGS4 currently. Because Snake is God. Before that I finished GoW 3 which was crap, but then again the series were a downhill hissy fit of a bald dude with father issues pretty much from the start, so I wasn't hoping for anything different from the third one.

RPGs are my favorite genre, no surprise there. Dragon Age is probably my favorite game of all time, followed closely by more Bioware goodness in form of Mass Effects, KotORs and Baldur Gates. Fallout was awesome two, but the third one was a bit dull aside from the main plot. Haven't tried New Vegas yet, but I have it somewhere on my HDD. I play RTSs occasionally, Dawn of War 2 being my favorite mostly because it's not a classical gather-build-tank rush RTS, but more of a tactical RTS with elements of an RPG. Starcraft 2 wasn't bad.

FF13 was.

I also shoot people occasionally, but FPSs these days are all about 4 hour long single-player campaigns and then you're supposed to proceed with the mindless shooting in the multiplayer which I don't do.

I typically stick to my fighters, or my heavily storyline centric games. KoF, SC 4, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (and soon, 3), Heavy Rain, Enslaved, etc etc.

The shortness of game times nowadays is quite astounding. Of course, it's worth it if you enjoyed yourself (IE Heavy Rain and Enslaved), or if you enjoyed the story, despite the horrible ending (IE Enslaved).

But yeah, PS1-3. And 2 GBAs that come out of retirement should I feel the need to catch 'em all.

Letho
11-08-10, 03:53 PM
Heavy Rain was pretty awesome. I didn't mind its length at all because it's a different type of game, almost an interactive movie, but one which you can (and should) replay because of multiple endings and the effect your choices have on the story. I still think Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy was a bit better, even if the story jumped the shark a bit near the end, but maybe I'm just nostalgic.

x3... It's insanely fun to play mindless games with friends on a voice chat... like vent or skype or teamspeak or ect...

and then do really silly things!

Yeah...

Wii, PS3, and PC mainly. I'm debating of getting another PS2 since my old one exploded = _ = (more or less literally) and maybe a xbox360... but I don't think it's worth it.

Genre wise I tend to stick to rpg types and I used to love rts on their hardest settings, but eh. I dunno.

I game hop a lot on PC though, and I tend to roll around all of the mmorpg type games, but most of them are run of the mill and don't really hold interest.

I do like searching abandonware games though on the pc, and it's always fun to see really old stuff.

I like my original 60 gig PS3, fully backwards compatable which is awesome because some of my favorite games are Parasite Eve, Azure Dreams and the psx final fantasies, all of which work on my baby.

I also have a DS lite and I'm playing Dragon Quest: sentinel of the starry skies, which is pretty awesome. Most customizable DQ I've played yet.

Then of course, there's fallout 3 which obviously won game of the year for a reason. New Vegas is decent too, but it lacks the sheer world-size of fallout 3. The only really interesting feature is survival mode, where you actually need to eat food, drink water, and sleep, along with a whole whack of other things that make exploring the post-apocalyptic desert even more realistic. I'd recommend either completely to anyone who hasn't already tried it.

But yah. PS3.

I just platinumed Fallout: New Vegas for PS3. I'm kind of a trophy whore. He probably doesn't know it, but I'm in an on-going trophy war with Vampiric Angel. He's level 12 with like 35% and I'm level 12 with like 24%. I will catch him and win.

Anyway, my PS3 name is Dirks09. All I play multiplayer is Bioshock 2 right now, and that's only until I platinum the game (five more levels to go). If I fix my Xbox, I'll be purchasing Black Ops. My name on that is Votesok if you guys want to play.

Just a heads up, all PS3s play PS1 games, the 'backwards compatible' ones that people refer to mean the ones that can play PS2s as well.

I don't have a PS3 that can do 2s, but it plays 1s just fine.

I have Call Of Duty: Black Ops but I'm not playing it just yet. As posted in the other thread, my Gamertag is Cha0tics0ul.
And for any PS3 owners: Chaoticsoul is my username for that system

I don't currently know my Wii code by heart. Also I was in a Achievement war with a couple of my friends. I had about 40k he had a 51k. Now I have 67k and he has 62k. Talk about a comeback.

My poison of choice is mmorpgs typically. I've tried several, both free and pay-per-month. Sometimes I don't stick with it; leaving around level 40. While other times, I get hooked and end up finishing almost everything. Though I still try to collect console games. I would have a PS3 right now, if it wasn't for the fact that I have to put what little money I did have saved up, towards a new computer since my lappy-a-splode.

Recently bought one of the new 360s. Slim black with a 250gb hard drive. Hooked up to live with the gamertag G1G4M3SH, so feel free to hit me up.

I don't play multiplayer games too often. I like RPGs such as Mass Effect. Recently I've been playing the hell out of New Vegas, currently rolling on about 80 hours of play with my one save. Played through Fable 3 also. Could've been a hell of a lot better, but meh, I still enjoyed it. I'll probably grab Black Ops soon too.

I have my old Ps2 slim also, with all the classic favorites of that system. I have my laptop also, which I play games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion on. I also play Final Fantasy 7 and 8 on my laptop, and recently installed Breath of Fire 4. I love the old classics.

I used to have a Wii. Launch date and all, I stayed up all night in a Wal-Mart to get it. Then a former friend turned douchebag stole mit and traderd it for somas and weed.

All I have left is an N64 and I think my Super Nintendo and Genesis. I used to have a Gamecube, but I pawned it for cigarettes/drug money.

Anybody here except Max got into Fallout: New Vegas? I've been sick for the last two weeks and still managed to get some 30 hours into the game, and it's pretty damn good, I must admit. I expected little more than a simple expansion to F3, but so far I'm enjoying it more that I did 3. It's more of a Fallout game than 3, meaning that it reminds me of the first two much more than three did, but that's not surprising considering that Obsidian made the game and not Bethesda.

It's not without it's flaws, though. There and bugs up the ass, even when you patch it. It crashed twice on me so far and once my quicksave got corrupted and kept loading me at the very beginning of the game with no gear whatsoever. And sometimes my idiot companions attack people for no apparent reason. And not to mention the stuttering issues and slowdowns if you play it on a PC (though I heard the consoled occasionally suffer from the same), but there are ways to fix that luckily. It's also still too easy. Unless you run into Deathclaws, the rest doesn't seem like that much of a problem, and I'm like level 15. Granted, I didn't opt for the Hardcore mode (leaving that for the second playthrough), but even though it's a bit harder than 3, it's still mostly a walk in a post-apocalyptic park, especially if you make good use of the V.A.T.S.

Still, I find it quite enjoyable so far. I'm still not tired of exploding heads with shots from my trusty sniper rifle and I don't care that after some 30 hours I didn't even get to Vegas yet. I think that people who felt that 3 wasn't a real Fallout sequel might want to check this one out, regardless of the fact that the engine of the game and the gameplay are pretty much the same.

Have New Vegas and played it. I enjoyed it. I'm on my second playthrough, but I kind of stopped after awhile. I've never been much for replayability, and this thing sort of gets repetitive after awhile because it just seems like 125+ quests isn't enough. I ran through most of the areas, quests and content my first run through with the place with my traditional "wanna-be gunslinger, but uses any weapon to get the job done anyway."

This run through, I decided to experiment with character development and try something I never have before since melee and unarmed has been given some much needed love. I made a red-haired bruiser with a strength of 10, endurance of like 8 or 9 and some other stats to make him an excellent fighter. Looking to maximize my DT and damage output, I'm roaming around whoring for this shit.

The sole goal for this character is to do something I've never done in any of the fallout games before. To be able to go toe to toe with the deathclaw in the Quarry, and not only be able to live through it be able to beat them either barehanded or with some kind of melee weapon.

I tested this awhile ago with what I had so far by going to the Quarry and seeing how I'd fair. I killed the Young Deathclaw in front of the place before he even turned around. When I got into the quarry.. which I sneaked into, because any dumbass whose played this game before knows very well that Deathclaw's range of aggression is so large that they will charge you before you even get to see them in the distance...

I was rushed by two of them, and they cut me down in three hits before I could get my lumps in. A little disheartening, but I still will not dismiss the idea. I will not give in! I still haven't gotten my power armor or ranger armor yet, and I know there's some sort of displacement fist or other melee weapons that I haven't tried yet to take them down.

I'm certain there are other avenues of approach and different tactics I can use to do this, as well. Its going to be especially tough because these deathclaw are packed all together. And as you may already know, Deathclaw are feared for good reason. When they hit you, their damage is supposed to surpass a certain amount of your damage threshold regardless of what your armor is. So, logically, even with the best armor I still can't imagine that I will be able to take very many of them on consecutively at such a close range. .. But, I'm going to try.

This was a half-hearted try at first, but if I actually manage to accomplish this, I'm going to find some way to record it and post it on youtube.

EDIT: I'm also on hardcore mode for the second time, too.

I have New Vegas as well. Haven't finished the main quest yet, but I'm close. I went with Hardcore the first time around; I don't usually go for achievements in games, but it seemed fairly interesting so I figured why not. It certainly is interesting, but I don't think I would do it again--it's not difficult by any means, but carrying around food and water is just an annoying waste of inventory space.

Who is everyone's favourite companion (or companion combo), if you use them? I stick with ED-E for the Enhanced Sensor perk, and Veronica because... Felicia Day. Need I say more? (It doesn't hurt that she's a beast with some Power Armor and a Super Sledge.)

As for taking on Deathclaws with melee, I wouldn't dream of it myself, but I do know of strategies that will work. First off, armor is irrelevant because Deathclaws ignore it completely. Obviously you'll want a good melee weapon with as high a DAM as possible (I think Deathclaws have a DT of 15, but I might be wrong on that; the Alpha Male and Mother might be even higher, and those are the King and Queen of the Quarry). Also, get some combat moves that knock down and/or stun your opponents. The ranger in Novac teaches one such move, and Veronica can teach another, in both cases as a reward for completing quests. Stun the Deathclaw, then beat it to death. That's the only way I can think of to handle them in close-range combat, because of the fact that they ignore armor.

Saxon
12-01-10, 09:27 AM
Yeah, I got some fighting techniques from that ranger, Veronica and a legionarie from The Fort. I think there are some other moves that I can use too, but I'm going to look into getting perks that'll help me out. I already have Purifier, Ninja, and the one that lets my unarmed attacks pass through 15+ DT, but I was hoping to get paralyzing palm, slayer and the knockdown effect to melee/unarmed as well. There are a slew of other perks I have too.

Regardless, I agree that I need to find something that will at least give me some sort of edge against them. I'm going to try a couple more times to see if I can take them head on. If it doesn't seem to be the case, I'm going to try and upgrade with melee weapons that I think will work. I know there is some kind of thermal lance that I can get from the brotherhood that may or may not be melee, but it might give me some kind of distance between them.

Barehanded might be more then I can hope for, but if I can at least conquer them with some kind of melee weapon, especially an entire pack of them, I'll be satisfied.

I like Veronica because she's voiced by Felicia Day, too. Plus, she's a dyke and she's funny to listen to. I honestly thought it was pretty funny when I gave her the dress she wanted and listened to how she reacted.

I liked to use Boone, however. He's definitely overpowered, but he can lay waste to practically anything in the game short of deathclaw or a horde of super mutants with or without your help. I gave him an anti-material rifle and the ammo to use it during the battle of Hoover Dam on my last runthrough and turned him loose. Ideally, I was supposed to just sit around and let him take care of Caesar's Horde, but there are too many legionaries for that to work. I had to do my share of the fighting and heal him occasionally, but I will say that seeing somebody else use the equivilant to a .50 cal sniper rifle at point blank range on somebody with rags for armor was very satisfying to watch.

The results, as you would imagine, were very messy.

Funny thing, Saxon, for my second playthrough I plan to use an exact opposite of your character, meaning I planned to go for a sort of a brainiac. I hate failing all those science/speech/whatever checks but that's not surprising considering how I distributed my points. I pumped them into perception for headshots and agility for AP and V.A.T.S., and all my skill points went to guns, repair and lockpick. Though repair isn't really as useful as it had been in 3, what with repair kits and folks that can repair your stuff up to 100%, it's still good to be able to fix just about anything with just about anything (Jury Rigging) and make your own bullets that kick ass (Hand Loader).

As far as companions go, I'm only scratching the surface so I've only met ED-E, Boone and Veronica. ED-E is cool, but due to some bug it kept attacking neutral/friendly folks after I spent a while in a certain area. And Boone kicks major ass, but since I play the role of a sniper as well, it's kind of redundant to keep him around. Veronica is pretty cool, though, more so because BoS is probably my favorite faction in the entire franchise. I ran into some Power Armor in REPCONN HQ and gave her since I can't carry it yet, so she can freely rush in while I cover her from the back. Also, she's a dyke, which is awesome. She and that Betsy chick from 1st Recon at Camp McCarran should really get it on. :)

Good luck with your Deathclaw mission, Saxon. I only met them once so far and since then I've been giving them a wide berth. There I went, strolling around and kicking ass, when I see a bunch of them near some cave near Ranger Outpost Charlie, I think. So I charge right in, they come running at me and two hits later I'm running backwards and gunning like there was no tomorrow. A bunch of stimpaks and hectic gunfire later, I kill the damn thing only to realize that it was only a Young Deathclaw and that his daddy is coming over the hill, extremely pissed.

Quickload. Walk in an opposite direction.

Did you try using some of the chems? Pump yourself full of Psycho or something maybe?

EDIT: A question for all you who already went through New Vegas: Where the hell can I get that Ranger Armor from the title screen? I wants one! Fuck Power Armor, that thing looks ubercool.

I'm not sure whether it's entirely the same, but the closest thing in the game that I know of is worn by Veteran Rangers. I think you'll have to kill or reverse-pickpocket one to get it.

Saxon
12-01-10, 11:55 AM
You only see Veteran Rangers once you've advanced to a certain point in the main quest. But there's so many ways to get there, that its kind of moot to mention them all. But you'll notice it when it happens. People start talking about Rangers being deployed from California for the coming battle or preperation to contain Mr. House in New Vegas when you activate his army of securitrons. The same can be said for veteran legionaries and centurions that will pour in from Arizona for the same reason.

The rangers are fucking tough. I honestly sided with the NCR the first time around because I'm a sucker for army-related stuff, and I loved the concept of an actual encroaching military force in the wasteland that was NOT the BoS.

I've never reverse-pickpocketed before. How the fuck do you do that?

Elrundir
12-01-10, 12:02 PM
Reverse-pickpocketing involves giving someone a piece of armour or a weapon that's better than the one you want to steal (since you can't steal equipped items). The AI is programmed to automatically equip the best items in the NPC's inventory, so they will equip the new item, and then you can steal the one you wanted.

Much more fun, of course, is using this method to plant a grenade or mine in the person's inventory. I don't need to explain what happens next, I'm sure. Either option should work in this case.

I will admit it took a bit of time before I finally really got into the game, but now I'm loving it. Playing as a Human Warrior, built to be the tank of the party. The problem is that I'm kind of a pack rat, meaning I either like to keep the stuff I find or sell it for caps. And if I have an armor that's better than the Ranger Armor, I would really hate parting with it. There so no way to earn it, like that Reily's Rangers combat armor or something from 3? That one was pretty neato.

Human warrior was my first character too. And it turned out to be the least fun to play of the three classes, mostly because I opted for sword and shield and Alastair was also sword and shield. And that kind of sucked because he was funny and I liked having him around but having two tanks meant doing significantly less damage.

You might want to keep your save once you beat the game. There's no New Game+ option, but if you get your hands on Awakening, you can import your character and kick significantly more ass.

Not that I know of, no. But would you settle for a scripted assassination of a Veteran Ranger by a Legionary? In this (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/You%27ll_Know_It_When_It_Happens) quest, a Legion sniper will kill a Veteran Ranger and you can loot his armour, but you have to do it quickly or else the other rangers will start shooting you.

Saxon
12-01-10, 04:59 PM
Are you talking about the actual rangers with the headgear and the breathing apparatus or are you talking about the desert rangers in the black armor? If its the latter, fuck, you have 50x as many opportunities to get that armor without getting fucked over with faction then you do with the actual rangers that guard President Kimball.

Reverse pickpocketing will work, and so will the grenade thing Elrundir mentioned earlier. My other idea was just to kill them and take it. Being good is relative and you can build up your faction points again anyway. However, I caution you to find ones that wander around alone to do it. Because taking on a whole pack of them would definitely be very detrimental to your faction.

The other alternative is to just do this playthrough with the NCR, do your next one with Caesar's Legion or Independent Vegas and pick off NCR however you like. To be honest, the NCR aren't really that good. I came across a lot of NPCs and quests that made some very convincing arguments that the NCR in all its glory is just a bunch of like-minded expansionists that will shoot you, take your territory and make up a reason after the fact to justify it to the public. Which, if you read your history while your playing, it is arguable that they did on many occasions.

Just sayin'. =P

Just sayin'. =P

Sounds like the original way the American's expanded across the continent.

Yes it was. Trail of Tears, the Mexican-American War, the Annexing of Texas, the War of 1812, seizing the territory of Oregon and Washington from the British with a tremendous bluff.

We did a lot of despicable things too in the name of our country and progress. =P

Kinda just jumping in. But I play lots and lost of WoW. I used to play a lot of DS and nientiendo games but now I feel I'm mostly over console games. I've been playing World of Warcraft for three years now I think just around the end of BC. To be honest I'm exited for the 7th.

Eve online seems pretty interesting, anybody tried it?

Are you talking about the actual rangers with the headgear and the breathing apparatus or are you talking about the desert rangers in the black armor? If its the latter, fuck, you have 50x as many opportunities to get that armor without getting fucked over with faction then you do with the actual rangers that guard President Kimball.Yeah, I think it's the first one, which veterans wear or something. I really have no idea as I'm not that far into the game that I've seen any of them. I just thought it would be cool to have one, not necessarily for protection, but more because it looks badass. The last time I looked badass was after Primm when I got myself a Sheriff Duster and Hat and I went around killing people, yelling: "I'm the law around here, boy!".

I think I'll just wait for that one to get shot as Elrundir said. It's not really stealing if he's dead. :P
The other alternative is to just do this playthrough with the NCR, do your next one with Caesar's Legion or Independent Vegas and pick off NCR however you like. To be honest, the NCR aren't really that good. Just sayin'. =PYeah, but they are closest to good as you can get as far as I know. I too ran into NPCs who weren't too thrilled with some of the stuff NCR does (Bitter Springs being just the most obvious one), but at least they're not nailing people to the cross or whatever. Shame Brotherhood of Steel isn't playing a bigger part, so you can side with them. It's kind of weird to see them hiding like roaches after the role they had in 3. But then again, this isn't DC.

I actually like what they did with the BoS here. The struggle of isolationism versus sharing technology has been a struggle that has affected them from the first game. It would only stand to reason that as time passed and the rest of civilization caught up with them, that there would need to be that choice between closing themselves off from the world permanently or becoming a part of it. If its the former, then the BoS are doomed in the next couple of generations to survive. If its the latter, I'll point you to Fallout; Tactics which is the BoS I know and love.

I'm just saying, you can't fault the NCR for a tried and true tactic.

Yes I can and will. We were wrong when President James K. Polk baited Mexico into a war so that we could win and seize what would become arizona, new mexico and california. And President Kimball is wrong for trying to push the NCR through the Mojave and take everything that isn't bolted to the floor.

You can argue the ethics of it, but from a militaristic standpoint, you cannot fault them for their tactics. You are putting ethics into the Wasteland, which let's face it, ethics have no place. It's survivalism at its most basic dude.

Philosophical debate aside, I'm happy to hear that Fallout returned to it's roots.

From what I could gather on the internet, there are four factions with which you can side while resolving the main quests (NCR, Legion, House and Yes Man). I'm just saying it's a shame that BoS isn't one of them. But I guess it makes some sense, because with their diminishing numbers in the region, they could hardly compete with the others, especially the NCR and the Legion.

Reviving this bitch to post a link to a video that I thought was damned funny, though it is probably rather old since it's based on now aged Halo 3 and some of you might've seen it already. I thought it was hilarious, and I don't even like Halo.

Whoever tried to play something online fresh off the single-player probably had similar experiences.

I kinda do. I think I remember playing it with a mage character. I assembled the Staff of Nox and reached the final battle only to have my ass handed to me. Never beaten that son of a bitch. It was a nifty game, though.

I was feared in that game's online mode. Had a warrior and owned several people. Trick was i grab the war hammer, then take OFF all my armor and beat up people. Wizard's would cast their protection, so I'd rope them, ram charge em, then slam them with my hammer. Conjurer's would throw their force of nature, so I'd switch to my greatsword and bounce it back and then rope them so they got owned. Warrior's i'd let rope me, and when they tried to Charge me I'd pull a fast dodge then rope them and ram their ass down and hit em with my hammer.

Whiney bitches go home to their mothers and cry, cool kids solve their problems with hammers.

They called me Streaker. I was nude.

I had a conjurer named lim-dul. Never needed more than the bomb imps. They'd run around before ramming into you and setting off all the spells I put into them. Oh damn was I mean, I'd blink them away make them slow and poisoned, they went nowhere fast.

That guy got quickly banned from Capture the flag....

God damn it, the L button on my limited edition gold Triforce DS Lite has almost completely stopped working (it occasionally works if you press it a certain way, but only at random). It would cost $85 + tax + shipping (+ time + the chance of it getting lost forever) to repair.

I ran into the same problem with my DSi not too long ago. The cost of repair and the risk involved sending it away, not to mention the only DSiware game worth having is Shantae and I've just about beaten it, means I had no trouble downgrading to a DSLite again with some gift cards this morning.

And Arai? I own the Super NES copy of Chrono Trigger.

Yeah. Suck it.

Got EarthBound? *trollface*

EDIT: Read original post. Here goes.

Sitting in the corner of my room, I've got a LED and a CRT television. Hooked up between the two of 'em are an NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, PlayStation 2, Wii, and an Xbox 360 that I keep around for Rock Band, Live Arcade and any shmups that happen to get a stateside disc release. Oh, and EDF and Oblivion.

Taking up space on my bookshelf are a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance SP, and a Gameboy Micro. Resting on my foot on the floor is a DSLite, which will be replacing a broken DSi that's off in a corner somewhere.

I never could get into computer gaming; I keep DOOM and DOOM 2 on my laptop, I've got Minecraft but haven't really dove into it yet, and a few freeware indie games on top of it.

I firmly believe that the best years of gaming were the 16-bit era; consequentially, the SNES is my favorite console of all time. The DS, NES, and the 360's Live Arcade (I count it as a separate console) all tie for second place.

Genres of choice: Platformers, side-scrolling action games, RPGs (8- and 16-bit eras), puzzle games, shmups and beat-'em-ups. I'm old school in my tastes.

Favorite game at the moment? It's a toss-up between Super Meat Boy, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX, and Dragon Quest 9. Favorite game of all time? The Guardian Legend on the NES, hands down. Take equal parts Raiden and Legend of Zelda, add a dash of Metroid, and you get pure awesome.

tl;dr - Yeah, I play games.
