Archiblad was chillen in Fallien, the Irrakam Market District (for what it matters), when a gust of wind tugged at his mages-hood. Without notice, a golden mantis dove from a dark cloud and gently glided to the sandy earth below. Before Suravani's eyes the mantis transformed into a semi-attractive man with parted hair.

"Hey, Archibald Butler!" The golden-haired shapeshifter shouted, "you wanna' try out a dice battle?!"

"Sure...wait... Who are you?" The aeromancer replied.

It was that exact moment that all hell broke loose...

Caysim had been standing there in a strange new plane. The ground was covered there with sand, but as he inspected farther into it, he noticed that it was a floating rock in the sky with nothing around him. This was all there was, him, and this squared platform of natural rock just floating there in a violet sky. His mind was completely oblivious to what the blonde haired man had done.

“You have to be kidding me…” Caysim muttered as he walked away from the edge.

The warriors footsteps left prints on the sand as he made his way back to the center of the arena. He cursed under his breath at how he had been conned into it. He was told nothing more than there was going to be a battle and money to be made. The one weakness he had, and also the reason to his accomplishments, had once again been exploited. Caysim was feeling royally fucked at the moment for taking the challenge on.

Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, spin of wind started to form. It swirled there vertically, as if to make a portal created of sand. His spear was hoisted up and his shield brought in front of him as he prepared for the unknown. His eyes widened as he saw a man make his way through the sand formed planar window. Once across, the sand, simply fell back to the ground leaving nothing, but the two men on a large floating rock in absolutely no where.

“And now…we will begin!” A familiar voice said.

It was the blonde haired man who spoke. He could not be seen, but Caysim recognized the voice. It was obvious to him, now that the man that had entered in the same fashion that he had was going to be his opponent here. This wasn’t seeming to be a regret anymore to the Wyvern. This was feeling like it was about to be one of his accomplishments.

“Fight!” The voice shouted out.

Arai
11-10-10, 02:23 AM
He'd been promised money and a good fight. Both of which he knew he couldn't pass up. He had been told by a man with hair the color of the sun above that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

"Who could pass that up?" said Arai as felt himself being whisked away an instant after he finished his statement.

A brief moment later, the scene had changed completely. One minute he had been venturing through Concordia forest, and the next he was on hardened ground with the clouds seeming much closer than before. The day was giving way to night as the sun set, bringing about brilliant shades of indigo on the horizon.

Inspecting the area around him he realized the ground is made of nothing but stone topped with a few layers of sand. He sees an edge, but he dares not look over it knowing almost for a fact that he was on a platform in the sky. Arai then noticed two other men with him. Both appeared to be humans in the same age group as himself. Each were poised for battle. Arai reached his hands behind his jacket and grasped the handles of his blades, prepared for battle.

He heard the word "Fight!" ring out from an unseen announcer.

Arai smiled and says, "You don't have to tell me twice..."

Seconds after his meeting with the mantis Archibald found himself enclosed on all sides by a sea of violent clouds. The ground beneath his feet was still dry like Fallien, and still compacted well with every heavy step, but it wasn't really ground anymore. Or really grounded for that matter, Archibald concluded while watching cloud mist drift by his nose.

"You guys go ahead," the aeromancer said to his dazed opponents. "I don't really know what the hell's going on."

Crouch followed twirl, and then Archibald jumped. For a moment he glided, but eventually he flew.

Cowardly as it may have been, the wizard wanted to see if the dogs would bark or if they'd bite.

“You guys go on. I don’t really know what the hell’s going on.” The first man to have appeared said.

Caysim’s teeth grinded together as he heard the cowardly comment come form the apparent opponent. His body jumped forward with a failed hold of anticipation. Before he could even get two steps, however, the man that had spoke crouched to spring into a jump. Within that second, the stranger was in the air, levitating there several feet above the arena.

“What the hell?” Caysim said with a gasp.

The warrior had never seen anything like that. Then again, he was from the dunes of Fallien. Magic was known of, but he hadn’t ever seen actually sorcery of that level. He had known multiple shamans in his time and they could manage magical feats, but nothing as solid as what he had just then witnessed. His attention left on the man was short, however, as he diverted away to his new opponent, a white haired man with drawn swords.

“I wonder is he’s here to run and play games too…” Caysim muttered underneath his breath as he stared the warrior down.

The Wyvern warrior hoisted his shield up, holding it in front. His sword was still sheathed there on the inside of the large round shield, but his spear was held tightly in his right hand. He exhaled deeply and then started his slow run towards the man. The sand crunched there under his boots as he charged at a slow pace towards the unknown warrior.

Closing in, the warrior kept his shield there in the front guard. His spear was still hanging there in his arm to his side, not even readying an attack. That was something that he wanted, however. He was up against someone he did not know. The danger and tension was high, but likewise, his opponent knew nothing of him. Caysim wished to keep it that way and keep the man off guard.

Suddenly the shield dropped to his side with one arm. With his other arm, the spear was slung up and reared back. He lunged his arm forward, tossing the spear towards Arai, but didn’t stop in his run towards the warrior. With his spear, thrown, however, and his ploy gone, the shield was to his side and his legs pushed off the sand even harder as he sprinted faster towards his opponent, as if to outrun the spear.

Just a couple of yards in front of Arai, Caysim reached in for the hilt of his sword. He yanked it form the sheathe that was strapped there on the inside of his shield. His knees bent and he leapt to the sky and towards his opponent. Whilst in the air, his body turned, his shield arm was held out as he lessened the distance in between him and Arai. While in the twirling motion, his shield was swung there at Arai first, but his body continued its spin and he came around with his curved blade sword quickly afterwards.

“Ah!!” Caysim roared as he launched his attacks.

Arai usually liked to be the first one to act, but this time he was beaten to the punch. The man in the brown cloak took the air, hung there awkwardly for a second then rose above the makeshift battlefield.

"A sound strategy if I must say so myself." He thinks to himself. "Relieving yourself from the fray to judge your opponents is a battle tactic I'd use myself if I could perform such feats."

Arai didn't have much time to worry about the skyward man, as the taller opponent had turned his attention his way--and he was now making a bee line towards Arai. His shield was raised, defending his front as he made his advance. Strangely enough his spear was being held almost limply at his side--not raised into any attacking stance Arai had ever seen other spear wielders use.

The reason was soon made clear as the man raised the spear up and behind himself and sent is flying towards Arai. Arai shuffles to the right, to move out of the projectile's path and away from the edge of the large stone they all stood upon.

The man had picked up speed, having shed himself of the large burden he threw Arai's way. he then took to the air, spinning, and then attempts to unleash two successive attacks. Arai jumps back during the Shield attack knowing that a hit from that, blocked or not would surely result in a lose of balance.

He then finishes his descent with a slash from his curved weapon, in which Arai's response is to toss a throwing knife from his right wrist harness at the man's right knee cap in an effort to prevent anymore charges.

Archibald didn't get a chance to watch his opponents fight. Instead he found himself face to face with the golden-haired man, who was now sitting atop a throne of clouds.

"Where have you brought us?!" Archibald asked, applying a high degree of urgency to his voice.

"You're grounded..." The man said with a flick of his wrist.

Suddenly the clouds surrounding Archibald melted into sand and dwindled to the skyline arena below. Like rain from the heavens sand fell, and amongst the collapsing skies the aeromancer struggled to keep flight. Midway between an aerial dog-paddle the aeromancer succumb to the gravitational wave that pulled him, and the cloud-dust, to the earth with a resounding crash.

Half-dazed from his fall, Archibald looked up to see his opponents only feet away. The falling sand didn't seem to effect them, as they were just finishing their opening combos. The tribal man, Caysim Winters, looked like he was at the losing end of the skirmish, already having been disarmed of numerous weapons. It was time for the wizard to join the fray.

"Here guys, catch." The aeromancer playfully called, swinging his right arm in the motion of a over-handed throw from behind his head.

At the point his arm passed his nose line an almost transparent, blue mist emitted from his palm. The mist shot outward, taking the shape of a whip. In the instant that it took for Archibald's wind-whip to form, he managed to let loose a single burst of blue wind from his free hand in the direction of Arai's chest. With the whip travelling a fast course towards Caysim head and the sphere on it's way to Arai, Archibald prepared for any counters his opponents with have thrown.

The glass made spear tip of the weapon struck into the sand, causing it to spray up around Arai as he had made a dash off to the side. The man then looked up from where he newly stood to see that Caysim was still continuing his sprint, but at an even faster pace. Now, the shielded warrior was only a few yards form the warrior and making another attack.

Caysim took to the air with his shield held out. His torso twisted as soon as his booted feet left the sand of the arena. His arm stretched with force and the metallic surface of the weapon made contact across the demonic mans body as he fumbled to strike. As the momentum of his turn brought him back around with his sword at the ready and swinging, those fumbled hands had made their destination while he was also airborne.

The knife had been jerked from its sheathe that was strapped on the outside of the mans leg. As soon as the shield had cleared Arai’s vision, his sights were set and the projectile was thrown, causing Caysim to cease his attack and react differently. Not much could be done in that time frame, however, and as he shifted his sword arm, the dagger flew by the curved blade as the block was denied. The blade created a loud ding then as it collided with Caysim’s armor just on the inside of his shoulder.

The blade, reflected from the steel plate, hurled through the air and finally descended to stick tip first in the sand at the same moment Caysims feet landed firmly on the same surface…

The Wyvern warrior slid a foot or two from the force that he had gained from his sprinting jump. He turned viciously, letting out another roar. This time, he stood on the opposing side of where he once was. Now Arai was in between him and the floating wizard, and his back was to the closest ledge. His spear stood at a slant from the ground just a few yards form his left side, and the dagger a few yards behind Arai on the right side.

Caysim’s eyes grew wide as his attention was sighted pass his closest opponent, Arai. Instead he was watching the wizard moving around on the opposite side. Something had happened and quite honestly, he figured the mage was trying to conjure up another trick. Instead, however, he completely fell to the ground. Confused, his alertness rose again after watching the wizard get back to his feet and shouting to the two.

The warrior took no more time to react once he saw the play of the wizards hands over the shoulder of Arai at a distance. His shield raised and his legs bent at the knees. He took in a large breath and then simply just exhaled. As his own wind passed the feather that was worn around his neck an eruption of light exposed itself into clear sight. A griffin poured out of the brightness screeching from its beak as it was raised on hind legs with feathers expanded. Its enormous feet slammed forward and its talons scratched across the sand right before Arai, but as quickly as it appeared, it vanished, and so did Caysim.

Suddenly from the sky, Caysim came crashing towards Scrotus. His feet landed firmly on the sand and his body lunged forward. It was through his spirited jump that he had left the area and Arai to the attacks that had been delivered from the mage. Now, the defender had become the attacker, and Caysim was not about to waste the opportunity, so his sword was aimed at the wizard as his arm held it while his body leapt forward.

Arai

Arai expertly dodged the huge weapon thrown towards him. He stepped away from the edge of the floating arena quickly, but not being used to this terrain he lost his footing on the sand. The armored warrior by this time had changed his trajectory and capitalized on Arai's misstep.

With a battle cry the man rammed Arai with his shield, knocking him completely off balance. He was lifted off his feet, but undeterred in his attack. He tossed his knife his sights set on taking out the bigger man's legs. The armored man noticed it, and tried to deflect it, but missed. Though with the attempt did manage to make Arai miss his mark. The knife bounced off the man's chest plate. It flung off him and landed somewhere behind Arai.

Arai hit the ground, rolled twice and hopped up to his feet. By the time he looked up he saw a flash of light and a great winged creature came forth. The fact that the warrior was no longer in view didn't concern him at this time. He scrambled away from the beast instantly, not realizing that it was only a vision.

Upon turning around he saw saw that the flying man was now grounded. He also saw the blue light headed towards him. He rolls to the side hoping to avoid the magic attack. Arai also noticed the armored warrior has someone managed to slip past him and was now coming down upon the flyboy.

Seeing his chance to kill two birds with one stone, Arai held out his left hand to his side and formed a sphere of fire in his hand. It started small then quickly increased to the size of a human head. The flames swirled violently in his hand as he launched it at his opponents.
