This is something that may or may not have happened before, but is going to happen if people are willing. If enough people are game, there will be a mosh pit in front of the Citadel. No Chamber Rooms because of the size of this. There will be Monks standing by waiting to revive, but will only do so after a clear single winner is found standing.

Levels won't matter too much, but I'd rather it be fair to some other members, because I know people care about that and such. So perhaps if you're 10+, well, I won't say stay out, but just think about it is all. Other people may react negatively.

But enough of that. Who's in? No sides, no rules, no morals. =3

Am I taking that to mean that every single person on this site is scared of a slight challenge from a Level 0? Give me a break. If this is really that sad, then it's no wonder people are scared of Level 5+ people. I mean, come on guys. Somebody has to have wanted to see a mosh pit fight before.

The idea is crude an chaotic. Not to mention hell to plan. Threads with four plus people take waaaay to long, so just getting intro posts up for a fight this size would take at least a page, and then another page to do moves. The idea is great, but everything sounds good in planning. Your level zero experience shows that you have yet to do a lot of Threads. Organizing groups is hard. This thread would probably never work, and become hell to manage, plus the score would be shit do to the lack of pacing and clarity. Good idea though.

Agreed ...

I would join, but ... not to be mean, there wouldn't be any challenge to it. Managing that many people isn't going to work.

The more people you have in a fight condensed in one thread, the worse it's going to be ... trust us.

Just have four PCs and a bunch of NPCs. I know a large number of people is hard, but in the end its worth it. Five PCs would be a good number IMO.

Vincent. Petoux. Thank the Gods you came in and informed me of how terribly hard it would be to manage and how chaotic it would be. I especially like how you seemed to think my Level 0 Experience meant I didn't know what I was talking about.

Of course this will be messy. Of course this will be chaotic. Of course the clarity will go down in the thread score. This was to be for fun and only fun. But of course, if it's too hard then sure. You don't need to be in it.

And I'm not trying to be a dick about it but coming in and posting useless posts is kind of annoying. So, don't. It makes you look incompetent. Either that, or Head of the Department of Redundancy Department.

BM, they weren't being dicks, nor were they insulting your level zeroness. So don't get butt hurt where there's no actual attack at you. The idea is rough, and its been tried with terrible success. Think about it like this. Me and Lorenor have had a thread going for a little over a month now. He's been off and on due to writing creativity. If you have five or so people your have five or so schedules that determine how fast you're going. Also trust me, due to the fact that the only points raised so far were negative I doubt the thread will be successful. Battles are not meant to be "Mosh pits" they're supposed to be one on one, or two on two, full of epic stuff, refined and elegant. Something the bards would sing about. No one here wants to write a chaotic brawl and get a shitty score. If so much effort goes into a thread it better getting a fucking great score or it will be deemed a waste of time. Most of us here are insane in our own way shape or form. Half of us are perfectionists when it comes to writing. The idea is fun in thought, but the actual execution will be frustrating as hell, and boring when t comes to waiting for your next post. Its fun at first, but you quickly get tired of it.

Apparently, this is terrible success. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=11032)
Go for it, BM. I'm in the middle of a creative lull myself, but should you need a decent partner for this I'll support some manpower, if it's only in well-written NPC's. Especially seeing as Althanas is in the middle of a dry season and staffing seems to be relatively nonexistent.

I'm actually not offended at all, Jack. I'm frustrated. Extremely so. Posting in here with the obvious is just silly and wasteful. If they don't like the idea, then okay. It wasn't meant to be some big amazing thing that gets a perfect score all around. I myself don't think I could get that great a score simply in a 1v1.

This idea was just for people to have some fun. A battle can be whatever you want it to be. it doesn't have to be a 1v1. Really, you shouldn't be telling me how to do a battle, what with all your childish comments during ours.

I'm just asking if anyone is in the mood for a crazy, messed up battle: anyone against anyone. Clearly, Althenas is letting me down just because they're stuck on getting that EXP. Personally, I don't see why the score would have to drop anyway.

Of course it would, but clarity itself in a crazy battle isn't that hard to do. :\ It's actually easier that way. In such a visually seizure-inducing environment, you wouldn't notice everything; you'd be focusing on you and your immediate threats.

But don't listen to me. I suppose I should lurk a bit more, because I clearly got my hopes too high about Althenas wanting to have fun.

This thread can be closed now I suppose.

EDIT: Oh wow. Somebody posted positively. Thanks, Angelkos. At least someone thinks the idea's a good one.

HEY! I resemble that comment. On that note, I think I'll throw my hat in the ring here... I don't have a whole lot of open threads right now, so I should be able to have some activity in this.

EDIT: As for the last week, I've been out of the house at a friend's house, and I had little to no access to the internet (literally no access in the last few days, the internet went poof), so I'll be back in on my Judging duties and my regular posting as of this week. I really don't have anything else to do.

The Cell went pretty well IMO, that had what, six people at least?

Anyway, I didn't technically put my hand up, so *puts hand up* I'm interested.

Okay, well, we can start this up tomorrow if everyone's still interested.

That was a fun battle. Was glad to have taken part in it. (formerly The Writing Writer)

I don't think it's a terrible idea BM, but I also don't think your over hostility towards everyone that disagrees with you is earning you any credit.
