Given Name
Eric Anglekos.

Pseudonyms/Aliases
None.

Actual Age
Twenty two years.

Age of Appearance
Eric looks slightly younger than his actual age; a stranger would say that he appears to be an older youth, perhaps around seventeen or eighteen. It's only when he is overly enraged or upset that he looks older than he is, almost like a monster, his visage contorted and twisted.

Race
Salerian Human. Identical to "normal" humans in almost every way, except for one; part of their 'essence' is tied to the supernatural wavelength, allowing them and their children to be born with the ability to instinctively, and then consciously, use magic.

Gender
Male.

Natural Height and Weight
Six feet tall, and he weighs one hundred and eighty five pounds without armor. With all of his armor on, he weighs around two hundred and ten pounds.

Natural Hair Color, Skin Color and Eye Color
Eric's hair used to be dark, dark brown; looking almost black in the wintertime, but now it has darkened even further until no one can mistake it for the deep, absolute color of gunmetal iron. His skin color is incredibly light and fair, but not incredibly pale; almost a normal caucasian. His eyes are one of the most striking features, being a fair, ocean blue that at times look gray due to their light tint.

General Base Appearance
Standing at six feet exactly, Eric has a youthful, serious face that is usually kept shaven except in times of mourning or depression. He isn't ugly, but neither is he overly handsome; he would score a seven out of ten, one would say. His average height and average weight bely the swordsman's toned body, lined with muscle from years of battle and experience. His hair he has grown out to slightly past his shoulders, and it has darkened considerably until that even up close it has gone from a dark brown to black; perhaps a mark of his burgeoning talent in magic. Despite the fact that it could get in his way during battle, his decision to grow his hair is a personal, sentimental one; to represent his mental battle to overcome Amalia's death. Over his iron breastplate and clothing, which usually consists of dark pants and shirts of varying material, he wears his black cloak, sometimes like a long sash.

Current Occupation
After the war with Xem'Zund, Eric returned to what he was before; a wandering mercenary, looking for a place, and a person, to call home. However, upon coming back to Radasanth, the warrior found himself recruited into the ranks of the Ixian Knights as part of William Arcus's monster hunting squad. For how long he shall stay in this role, however, remains to be seen.

General Personality Overview
Calm and confident, he is the poster boy for the generic adventurer, usually wearing either a taunting smirk or forthcoming smile to both his friends and his enemies, as few as he thinks he has. One of his biggest prides is holding his temper back, as he personally believes those who let their emotions get the better of them have already "lost the battle", but when it does get out of hand, he finds it very hard to control and often makes rash decisions that justify that belief. And ever since meeting the ghoul known as Lorenor, Eric has found that the leash upon his rage has grown even looser, and it escapes his control which much more ease and far little provocation than before.
A simple man with simple needs, he wants for very few things; a life filled with vengeance has left him with simply existing, moving from place to place, and these days he only feels truly alive when his life is on the line; becoming, almost, what they call a battle junkie. He doesn't consider himself one, and if asked he would claim the opposite; that he despises fighting and that the only fight one cannot lose is the one not fought. Despite this, he unconsciously seeks out conflict, looking to prove that he truly is the better with his abilities. Especially now that he is truly coming into his power as a magic user.
Despite it being so long since his fiancé's death, he has still a long ways to go before he is completely over it, making it extremely difficult for him to love, or even lust, again. When he is extremely stressed out or nervous, he tends to touch the strands of her hair that he has wrapped around the hilt of the blade that was his fathers, thus inhibiting his ability to do get past it.

~Abilities/Skills/Items~

Martial Abilities

Swordsmanship - Eric now has masterful ability and trained skill in combat with all half-held blade-class weaponry, including short swords, long swords, great swords/bastard swords, and daggers and knives. Despite his great skill, he does not use a single particular style in his fighting, instead deciding to take strength in versatility and adaptability. Up to this point, he has been completely self-taught, preferring experience over a master, but now he seeks a teacher to help him grow beyond his own limits and push that potential forth more.

Anything But Ordinary - Whether it is due to his experiences in war and combat affecting his body at a primal level, or due to the magics that flow unchecked through his veins, Eric is now twice as strong and fast as the average human soldier. He can run up to a speed of nearly twenty-two miles per hour at full sprint, and can lift up to a weight of twice his body weight (up to 370 pounds), albeit it with difficulty. He can, with relative ease, lift up to 3/4's his body weight with one hand (up to 138 pounds). Despite the increases in his strength and speed, however, his endurance and ability to retain damage remains the same. [Ability is locked until level 3, where it must be re-approved.]

Arcane Abilities

Hiraishin - This ability allows Anglekos to literally supercharge his body with magical electricity, thus increasing all of his physical abilities by three times his natural abilities. While in this state, his skin constantly emits and conducts electricity in a thin field about him, and anyone who touches his skin will receive a sharp electric shock. This shock is mildly harmful if just a light, temporary brush or touch, but prolonged contact can be extremely painful and cause temporary physical paralyzation for up to twenty seconds. The state lasts for up to four minutes, although if he needs to he can shut it down beforehand. At the end of the spell, however, the effects lift and he is left extremely wearied and tired. It can only be used twice per day, and can be recognized by others when his eyes becoming entirely enveloped in a bright, glowing blue, and azure lightning flickers angrily over his skin, signifying his own magic enveloping his body. Lines of blue cracks crawl over his skin from his eyes the longer he uses it.

Shuurai - Upon willing it so, Eric can infuse his weaponry with his magical energy, causing the weapon he is holding or a part of his body to become enveloped in bright azure electricity. By imbuing this lightning, the striking speed and power of the weapon is increased by three times, and whomever suffers the blows also suffers lightning elemental damage, thus causing three times extra damage to creatures of water or air elemental affinity and creatures encased within armor. The effect lasts for three strikes of his blade, arrow, or other weapon. When he strikes, it looks like the victim is being struck by a bright blue bolt of lightning, and a resonating shock of sound like thunder erupts from his weapon upon doing so. While this doesn't effect Anglekos himself, it can momentarily deafen the opponent for up to thirty seconds. He can now perform this spell up to three times per day in quests, but twice per battle.

Rakurainiau - By willing so, Eric can imbue his mystical lightning into himself and/or another being, causing the body's regeneration process to speed up considerably; allowing moderate cuts and bruises to heal up right before the person's eyes, and restoring stamina as if the creature had received a night's worth of rest, as well as restoring a level of psychological wellness. He can use this three times per day, but only twice per battle.

Miscellaneous Abilities

Lorenor's Blessing - As a "reward" for taking down Lorenor's doppleganger at the Citadel, the ghoul infused him additional arcane power, allowing Eric to now double the amount of magic he can use per day. However, this comes at the cost of the swordsman immediately losing control over his rage, becoming almost a berserker. He may use this ability to double the amount of a spell he can use per day, but only one spell at a time and only once per day. (For example, being able to use Shuurai six times per day instead of three.) Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=21926)

Bond of Blood - Eric now has a bond with the demon known as Dan Lagh'ratham, due to the possession and pact made through the item known as the Blade of Death. Via this bond, the two can now communicate with each telepathically at any distance, and even know what the other is feeling during times of extreme pain and stress.
However, this bond goes further, due to the dark nature of both participants, and the arcane blood of Eric's combined with the demonic blood of Dan has sparked an even darker bond between the two. As it is such, Eric now has access to Dan Lagh'ratham's ability called Slayer's Bond, whilst Dan has access to Eric's ability called Shuurai, along with limited electromancy skills. This allows Eric access to the same pocket dimension that Dan uses, essentially allowing the duo to share weaponry between one another, and it thus functions in the same way; in essence, Anglekos can only use weapons that Dan informs him of, and vice versa. However, Eric lacks the same capability that Dan has of combining his weaponry, only being able to summon and dismiss them. However, if Dan shares with him a combined weapon that he himself creates, then Eric will be able to summon it, as long as the necessary components are not being used at the time. So far, the list of weapons that Eric may summon and dismiss into the dimension are as such:

Eric's own weaponry, save for Amalia, as the steel blade has organic material (hair serving as a tassel) upon it's body.
A large, mythril bladed great axe with a delyn core and haft.

Weapons

Amalia: A steel long sword, the blade being about three feet long. Eric has christened it "Amalia", after the name of his dead fiancé, the hilt having a tassel made out of a lock of her blond hair, which does not decompose due to being around his magical energy. The scabbard itself is made out of leather.

Pardolaes: A masterwork quality longsword made out of mythril. Double-edged, it measures about three and a half feet in length and it is about two and a half inches in width. Along the edge of the blade is inscribed it's name, which, unbeknownst to Anglekos, means "Dawnbringer" in Raiaeran. The sheath is made of ebony dyed oak, and along it is engraved white designs. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=19726)

Mortalitas: Also known as both "The Blade of Death" and "That knife that killed one hundred and one men", this titanium dagger has a personality of it's own, being completely sentient. Savagely thirsty for blood, it will never hesitate to spill the blood of an innocent, and if it's rage is not quenched fully it will attack even it's owner. As of now, it's owner, Anglekos, shares co-ownership with the demon Lagh'ratham, and both parties can wield it as such they desire. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=21125&page=12)

A yew long bow that functions as both a weapon and makeshift staff. He also carries a quiver that can carry up to twenty arrows. Currently, the arrows he carries are made of oak and the arrowheads are of iron.

Armory

Irastella: A long, ornate-looking titanium gauntlet that fits over Eric's left arm, this armor is the counterpart to the blade known as Mortalitas, as it is the only thing that seems to quell the weapon's rage when it is full throttle. Eric has also come to find that the ornate armor's effect seems to affect himself as well, as he draws upon it's power to help quell his own emotions when they grow out of his own control. However, this does not apply when he is under the effects of Lorenor's Blessing, only slightly lessens the rage to the point where he can think coherently. The tips of the fingerparts on the gauntlet are sharp, like claws. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=21125&page=12)

A simple iron breastplate, form fitted to his torso. Nicks and scratches all along it's surface tell the tale of it's long usage.

A pair of steel armguards and greaves. They are each enchanted so that the wearer, no matter how much equipment he is carrying or how much armor is upon his being, moves in utter, complete silence. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=18955&page=2)

A black cloak that provides warmth and concealment in the dark. It is made of cloth and carries with it no special properties at this point.

A masterwork mythril shield, lined with trakym. A single black cross is engraved into the front of the shield, and the armor is enchanted so that upon command, the cross will shine a light that turns away weak undead creatures. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=19726)

Items

A single coin with four square holes punched into it, and the name 'Reine' engraved into one side. It has no other monetary value. Gained here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=19054&page=2)

~History~

0
Eric originally comes from a land not unlike Althanas, a realm called Saleria. He was born upon an island country split into two nations at war, in a small village not far from his nation's capital. This country was unique in that everyone born upon its soil was bestowed with some sort of "power", magic that ranged from mere domestic uses, such as making a flame to boil water, to mighty war spells that could tame the weather to its user's wishes. It also was unique in that all of its inhabitants thought that their country was the entire world; no one had ever journeyed past the storms that surrounded the entire island. And so they lived in ignorance that an entire world lay out there beyond theirs. This country had been split into war between two kings, and it had gone on for so long that no one even remembered why it had begun in the first place.

Eric was born a rarity and freak amongst these people: unlike everyone else around him, he did not possess a scrap of magic in him. This was a terrible burden for him as his father was a great war hero and sorcerer, so everyone had expected him to display the same type of power and strength as his father before him. Forced to rely upon his wits and body and determined to live up to his father's name, he learned how to defend himself with a sword and bow and made up for his disadvantage in sheer tenacity and physical attributes. It was this knowledge that saved his life.

Soldiers apparently from the opposing nation came not two days before Eric was to be married to his fiancé, Amalia, and slaughtered everyone in his entire village. He fought valiantly but was eventually knocked unconcious and presumed dead from his injuries. Weak, Eric awoke to find his entire village burnt to the ground and everyone he had ever known slain. Also, a soldier bearing the colors of his nation was walking around, poking at the bodies with a spear. Eric approached him and assured the man that he was a friendly, but was immediately shocked when the soldier attacked him out of the blue. Forced to kill the man, despite his own wounds, Eric began to question just what he had always been told when he discovered a letter on the man, giving the soldier to kill any survivors. Thus, after a few days of preparing and rest, Eric buried his fiance' and left his village in search of the truth.

He was soon joined by two comrades who had similar stories to his. One was an older man, a blacksmith, who's daughter had been kidnapped and taken away, apparently by soldiers from their own nation. The other was a female ex-soldier from the opposing nation, a woman who had found evidence that this entire war was just a scapegoat. Once they had found her, they had tried killing her, but she managed to fight her former comrades off and run away. It wasn't long before they rescued a young man from soldiers claiming he was a wanted fugitive, and found out that he was actually the supposedly dead Prince of their nation. Like the other three, he had had doubts about the war and the government in general, and soon enough he found out the truth:

There entire "world" was a lie.

The war was just a distraction, so the two kings, who were brothers, would be able to rule over their island country as almost literal gods. They'd been using their magic to extend their lifespans so that they could rule for lifetimes on end. To keep the war going, they would have bands of their own soldiers dressed in uniforms of the other nation go and kill a village a two, here and there. It kept people from being curious about what was outside the waters around the island.

Furious at being decieved, Eric and his companions went and stormed the nation capital, with a little help of course. Through persistency and cunning, they managed to slay the king, reveal the truth and restore the Prince to his throne, thus dethroning the other king through public rebellions and fighting.

Eric, however, did not want to stay in a country that reminded him his father had died for a lie, and requested that he be able to be sent away. From the country, from the world, from it all. He was surprised, however, when the Prince found a spellcaster with a talent for dimension traveling, and opened a portal to Althanas for him. Without a second thought, Eric entered the realm of Althanas and started the rest of his life.

Here on Althanas, he was suprised to find that he hadn't been born without power after all: The passage to this realm must have awakened his formerly dormant abilities, and now he spends his time finding out just what he can do.

You have too many updates. As it stands now, you have 7 updates/new abilities, and that's not counting the Sword/Bowmanship. You need to drop that to 3 (or four if you remove "Anything But Ordinary" since it's basically two updates rolled into one, what with the increase in two separate attributes). Now onto specific abilities.

Hiraishin - too much of a jump here. You can get three times the natural abilities, paralyzation up to twenty seconds, duration of four minutes, twice a day is fine as long as there's a cooldown period between activation.

Shuurai - it should remain at 3x the power from your last profile, since you already get double the strength, and then three times that from Hiraishin. 3x damage to creatures of air and water affinity is OK, and creatures encased in metal armor. Also, you can use it twice per battle, maybe three times per quest.

Rakurainiau - moderate cuts and bruises, three times per day, twice per battle.

Lorenor's Blessing - From the judgment: "...at the cost of losing his self control over his rage", not slowly losing control. There's a difference between activating the ability and losing control and activating the ability and losing control in like an hour or a day. So I want you to make it that he loses control when he activates it.

Bond of Blood - I'd like you to be able to pull one additional weapon aside from the stuff from your inventory.

Mortalitas - I don't recall this blade having the ability to drain the life force and transfer it to the user. I might've missed it, but I was bidding for that weapon as well and I don't remember that particular trait.

Irastella - Can't be used to nullify the rage from Lorenor's Blessing. Lessen it a bit, maybe, but I figure you probably meant that anyways.

EDIT: I apologize. I missed that Lorenor's Blessing is a passive ability. In that case I'd like you to make it so you can double the usage of one of your abilities/spells per day/battle. You can change which one as you see fit every day/battle, but only one at a time.

Sheesh, I should have changed the title of this update to "Weaker Than I Thought". :P
Nah, it's all good. This is all a formality anyways, seeing as once my third battle gets judged I'll be hitting level 3 and we'll be doing this dance all over again. I went a little crazy with the updates anyways; it's been a while.
Now, onto my profile.

I completely eliminated Electromancy and Bowmanship entirely; the former can wait, and the latter, well, Eric hardly uses anyways. As a result, I'll also be getting rid of his bow and arrows. Or sell them at the Bazaar. Yeah, I'll do that. I can't take out Lorenor's Blessing, and I'd really like to keep Bond of Blood and Anything But Ordinary.

Hiraishin - too much of a jump here. You can get three times the natural abilities, paralyzation up to twenty seconds, duration of four minutes, twice a day is fine as long as there's a cooldown period between activation.
Dones, done, done, and done. I try to imply the latter in my description, seeing as he gets tired and wearied afterwards, but if you need me to actually write it in physically I will.

Shuurai - it should remain at 3x the power from your last profile, since you already get double the strength, and then three times that from Hiraishin. 3x damage to creatures of air and water affinity is OK, and creatures encased in metal armor. Also, you can use it twice per battle, maybe three times per quest.
Fixed, despite the fact I'd like it higher. But again, level 3, here I come. The metal part is assumed, seeing as magical lightning still follows the same rules and limitations of normal electricity.

Rakurainiau - moderate cuts and bruises, three times per day, twice per battle.
Done. No issues with this.

Lorenor's Blessing - From the judgment: "...at the cost of losing his self control over his rage", not slowly losing control. There's a difference between activating the ability and losing control and activating the ability and losing control in like an hour or a day. So I want you to make it that he loses control when he activates it.
Actually, I kind of like it being something he activates instead of being constantly there, so this works perfectly. Fixed, and I'll have it be an active action rather than a passive ability as stated initially. If that's okay with you, of course.

Bond of Blood - I'd like you to be able to pull one additional weapon aside from the stuff from your inventory.
Took out Dan's prevalida kodachi. I plan on doing some neat stuff with that axe.

Mortalitas - I don't recall this blade having the ability to drain the life force and transfer it to the user. I might've missed it, but I was bidding for that weapon as well and I don't remember that particular trait.
No, you were right, it doesn't. Maybe in the future, but right now it's just wishful thinking. Also, it was nice to see you actually RPing again, if only in an auction thread. Let's do it again some time.
Fixed.

Irastella - Can't be used to nullify the rage from Lorenor's Blessing. Lessen it a bit, maybe, but I figure you probably meant that anyways.
Yep. But I put it in anyways, so for better clarification.

EDIT: I apologize. I missed that Lorenor's Blessing is a passive ability. In that case I'd like you to make it so you can double the usage of one of your abilities/spells per day/battle. You can change which one as you see fit every day/battle, but only one at a time.
I added this in as well, and like I said before, I'm changing it to an active ability.

With that, that should be everything. Look through my profile and see if I missed anything or if you see anything else you'd like changed, and if not I guess I'm set to go.

Also, it was nice to see you actually RPing again, if only in an auction thread. Let's do it again some time.Yes, let's. Next time I can snatch an item you really want right under your nose. ;)

Anyways, onto more serious business. As I mentioned, I didn't count Bowmanship because it's a skill, and the upcoming system won't regulate skills, so it doesn't count towards the number of updates. So right now you have 3 new abilities (Anything But Ordinary, Lorenor's Blessing and Bond of Blood) and you've updated 3 of the existing one, which makes six updates, which is sadly still too much.

I can allow four total updates, and even that's stretching it a bit since Anything But Ordinary is technically two updates to two separate attributes. If you dropped the stats a bit in Anything But Ordinary (1.5x perhaps), I would let you have five updates. Bond of Blood is currently little more than a fancy bottomless bag from which you can access your inventory, so I think I could live with five.

Lord Anglekos
12-23-10, 05:06 AM
Ooh, I forgot about that. Alright, how's this; how about I put that "Anything But Ordinary" is locked until say, Level 3? Would that be essentially saying the same thing as it's a level 3 update instead of level 2? Reason being is that I just don't want to go through the math again, and I'm probably not going to be doing my RPing anyways until that point.

Letho
12-23-10, 05:13 AM
If you lock it until level 3, it would be a level 3 update, only a bit less of an issue since it's technically acquired at level 3.

Lord Anglekos
12-23-10, 05:24 AM
That's fine. I'll put it as locked then, until level 3, whereupon I'll get it re-approved then, and have it technically taken out of this profile so it can get approved.
EDIT: And done.

Letho
12-23-10, 05:28 AM
Awesome. You are approved. Thank you for your cooperation and welcome to the next level.
