Enigmatic Immortal

There was something bothering the immortal, something he couldn't place his finger on quite yet, but was so close to doing so. He didn't know what it was, or how to go about obtaining it. His only reservation was that it pertained to Stephanie and the idea he had forming, that single leap she wanted him to make wasn't something that made him at all comfortable.
Stepping into a small weapons shop he gazed upon the metal blades and sighed, looking out the door and finding a small bookstore across the way. He exited the shop he was in and headed for the tomes of knowledge, smiling as he found a few nice sets.
he looked upon the children's books, shaking his head until he found a particularly interesting series about a hero during the demon wars. What intrigued him most was that it was a female lead, not a male, and it seemed like suitable reading for his little girl Azza.
First thought done. Azza would be pleased.
He grazed by a stack of old pamphlets on medical procedures of varying afflictions, and with a peak of curiosity he looked inside findng the information rather interesting. He grabbed them all and placed them in a small cart next to the table, lifting the basket up and holding it as he ventured deeper inside.
Second thought done. Aislinn would be amused.
His eyes stopped as he saw a large, rather ratty tome with the pictures of skeletons upon it. He opened the book, finding a rather gruesome picture of a man upon a torture rack. He shut the book, looked to the price, and shrugged dropping it back on the table. When he turned he found a rather large child's book about ponies and unicorns. With a sly smile he scooped it up and placed it in the basket.
Third thought done. Cassandra Remi would be annoyed.
He stopped looking at different volumes of magic and artifacts, finding several interesting books about unusual objects and trinkets as well as convoluted spells. He jiggled his coin purse, shrugged, and started grabbing various volumes. First, he grabbed a book on record keeping and several pre organized stacks of papers to aid one in keeping track of supplies. Anita would like that, he ventured. There was a particualr interesting book on an artifact called the Canine's of Cerberus, and opening it he learned about the ice manipulation the necklace would grant his weilder. Though he knew nothing about Rethul Orlouge, he figured he'd get a kick out of it.
Three Orlouges down...
Jensen looked to the book about the Gisela tournaments, seeing stat lines and other various details about all the participants of the great battles, and placed the book inside for Sei figuring he would enjoy it.
Faggot Fairy king was now taken care of.
He made his way to the romance section, finding a few books about lost loves and forbidden fruit. While it would be a major tease to the girl he loved, he was positive she would enjoy it very much. Though he was also sure his previous romance book he gave her would be better than these.
Kyla now had the perfect gift.
He saw a stack of manuscripts and plays and without bothering to look at any of them he dumped them into his basket, smiling with a devil's grin. He already knew Duffy and Ruby would like them, even if they sucked. He prayed they did suck, though. It was a great excuse to throw apples at him on stage.
Duffy and the tantalum down, and he pondered what else he would find.
He placed his basket ont he counter, turning and grabbing another as he shopped around, having fun finding all sorts of informational tomes, scrolls, books, and little knickknacks for his friends and family. For William Arcus, hated foe, he found a particularly large volume about the myths of beasts and where they can be found. For Zerith he found a book of similar nature, but it was focused on legendary warriors of old. There favortie past time lately was calling upon these heroes in the citadel and challenging them.
For Jasmine, who did love her books so, he found a few baby books for her daughter, and one rather in depth mystery novel to keep her in suspense. He was positive she would love it. For Adolph, he found the perfect book and purchased two copies. One for himself, and one for his friend. Temen Ni Gru was a great story about demons, heroes, and magic. It was perfect for the chaplain, and the book had sentimental value as being Xavier Sigma's, his father figure's, favorite book.
For Talen he found him a book about how not to wet the bed, and how to manipulate the shadows in several scrolls to give him a bit more clarity on his growing skills. He hoped he liked it.
For Dorian, the boy who spoke to dragons, he found a simple book about different types of dragons, and along with it one legendary item in history associated with the dragon next to it. Somehow, he knew the boy would find it intriguing.
He placed the second basket on the counter, smiled brightly and turned to find a third. When he lifted it up he began to grab several scrolls on fighting and sword styles ofr Hotouri and Ta'gaz as well as Taka. They would teach them new kata's and aid everyone in their endeavor to train the newest recruits.
For Tobias he got a book about lesbians, and then a book about home wreckers. It was all in jest, of course, but he still held his reservations the morning he found Stephanie and Tobias together in his bed when he returned from a mission. He also got her a new bandanna, a purple one, and a little elven cap to keep her head warm in the winter.
He stopped when he realized he hadn't got a gift for Stephanie, and with a sigh he turned to the piles of books and scrolls and swallowed hard. All these people he shopped for had in some way, somehow shaped this defining moment. He had no clue what to expect from the future, but thanks to Kyla and these people he had the courage to do what was right and follow his heart.
He grabbed a book for Stephanie and himself to read together, tossing it on top of the pile with a weary smile. He fingered the one item he had grabbed at the last shop he entered before the weapon store and this excursion, and pulled out the tiny jewel case, looking one more time to see if magically it disappeared.
Nope.
With a heavy heart he pushed the baskets forwards and smiled looking at the book on top. Maybe this would give him the little experience he needed.
"I want all this stuff," Jensen said to the shopkeeper. "And could you maybe, wrap this one separately and place it to the side?" Jensen said placing the jewel case on top of a book titled Marriage. An Idiot's Guide.
((Note to the Mod: All these books are going to be gifted to the members of who were mentioned so when they see this thread they can place the item in their inventory. If they wish to gain skills from the books and what not, that's fine with me, charge me more, in the end it's up to the ROG mod to approve.))
