Personality: Dmitri like most pirates is naturally loud mouthed and boisterous. A man of simple pleasures he doesn't require much to make him happy and he generally just does what feels good at the time. Also while a chimpanzee is probably more book smart than he is, he knows how to live the life that he leads well enough to survive easily. As far as a moral compass goes he doesn’t really have one. He's not a sadist or anything but when you're raised as a pirate you can't be expected to act like a priest. He is somewhat superstitious.
Appearance: Dimitri is a rough looking individual. He his is long and messy, as is his beard. His arms, legs, chest and back are all hairy and despite is reality short height he is well built. His skin is tanned from long days in the sun and has a rough appearance to it. There is a skull and crossbones tattoo on the the right side of his neck.
History:
The son of an alcoholic fisherman and a young gypsy whore in Salvar, the fact that Dmitri had a rough childhood should come as no surprise to anyone. His mother being only 14 at the time of his birth died during labor and his father only kept him alive out of some strange sense of obligation. Dmitri was basically left to raise himself on the docks of one of many small towns along the Salvar's great river. He quickly got involved with bad people and ended up as a pirate.
Skills:
Swordsmanship: Dmitri is decent with a sword though he's by no means an expert. He knows some basic offensive and defensive maneuvers and seems to be able to read an opponent surprisingly well despite his lack of any real formal training.
Hand to hand fighting: This was kind of inevitable. If you're a pirate or you spend time around pirates one way or another you're going to learn to throw your fists. He's not an expert martial artists but Dmitri can hold his on in a brawl with the best of them.
Boatsmenship: Simply put Dmitri knows his way around a boat. He knows how to tie a number of knots, steer the damn thing clear of obstacles and preform basic maintenance and repairs. Being the navigator of his crew he is exceptionally skilled in just that, oceanic navigation and knows how to read things such as wind, current, star patterns and other things to get the rest of the crew where they need to go.
Languages: One of the advantages of sailing around Althanas Dmitri has picked up on a number of languages. He currently he can speak Salvic, Trade and Common fluently and gets the gist of Alaren.
Abilities:
Sixth Sense: An ability inherited from his gypsy mother this is so subtle that Dmitri doesn't he know it actually exists. He has an innate sense of direction and the of future. This means in no way means actually knows what the future holds but he can often tell if something is a generally good or generally bad idea, roughly where he is or in what direction something is and has a generally good sense on how somebody is going to act. This is obviously effected by things such as his ability to think clearly or somebody's ability to mask their intentions on a magical level.
