Hello, everyone!
It is a pleasure to meet you all, I'm sure. Commence with the typical introduction thread type shenanigans.

Welcome to the site.
...so... uh... what do we call you?

I'mma gonna love her, and pet her, and name her George!
Welcome to Althanas, George.

I'll stick with Runechick.
She reminds me of Karuka.
Thanks, Mr. Abominable Snowman. I'm not Bugs Bunny, though. Probably.
Who's Karuka?

Karuka was a character. I don't believe her writer frequents the site anymore. Not that I'm aware at least.
Welcome to Althanas!
For the record, I'm going to refer to you as "Squiggles".
Double double post post. Sorry about that, the site got confused and wasn't letting me post properly. It seems to have thought that I'm a bot--probably because of my username. So everything got all weird. Whoops.

I like it. Welcome to the site, Squiggles.
Haha, well, that works, I suppose. Thanks for the welcomes!
Also, posting a link to my character sheet here might not be a bad idea, so here it is (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?22379-Fr%F8lich-Tyrsdottir&p=180045#post180045).

Vintage Squiggles.
That name will haunt you like Fumbles.
Thanks, orphans.
And uh, Vintage? Fumbles? What?
Heir Frolich works for me :p.
Welcome to Althanas :)

cept that "heir" refers to a man and the postbit says the chara is female. therefore, if you are going to assign gender in accordance with the chara name, the correct term is "Frau" :p
at any rate, Welcome! Enjoy your stay! :D

Welcome, Squiggles!
I must say that I quite like your character, though it's a shame you can't tolerate heat since I think you and Josef (one of my alts, see sig) would make a nice combi and could have some fun in Fallien. But since that's basically the hottest region of Althanas I doubt you'll ever go there :P.
Ja, das ist richtig, Frau Jasmine. And thanks for the welcomes again.
As for the heat weakness, I'm not sure, that's something I hope to get rid of at a later level. She might develop more of a resistance as she travels around, or find some way to protect herself from hotter temperatures. It is awfully inconvenient for the time being. I thought it only fair that I balance out her tolerance for cold with an equal weakness for heat, though.
Oh, I seem to have been approved! Hmmm. Now what do I do?

Grats on your approval!
What do you do? Anything you want! The entire world is at your feet and yours to take, or whatever rocks your boat. You can look through the battle/quest recruitment forum and/or post your own thread there. Check Underwood and the Peaceful Promenade for open quests; its a great place to start your adventure. Another option is to start with a solo so you can peacefully get the hang of writing with your character.
Instead of the training forums you can also go straight to one of the other regions. Concerning temperature I would recommend Raiaera, Alerar and especially Salvar. You can read up on the respective forums for more info about those regions or scan the Alty Almanac (http://www.althanas.com/world/faq.php?faq=althanasalmanac) for some general info.
If you are more interested in just fighting then you should visit the Citadel.
As long as you give cookies to the admins and don't get your head cut of then you'll be quite alright! Enjoy!
Thanks for the advice, TSE. I think I'll probably start thinking up a solo.
Things are a little bit complicated because my friend made a character at the same time as me, and our two characters are pretty dependent on each-other (they're sisters). So I can't precisely start a thread without him. I mean, he's the one who suggested I join the site. But, he won't be able to start writing until Monday, so until then I will have to figure something out. So a solo seems to be my best bet for now...
In any case, thanks!
If you're ever in Salvar, Cydnar or Nihjar would love to banter with you, or indeed, if you want to do a thread with another shaman/pathfinder, then Jennifer Oakley might suffice.
I am at your beck and nordic call :).
Thanks Duffy, I'll keep that in mind. ☺

Just out of curiosity, how does one go about making this line of characters on their keyboard? It is easy enough to copy and paste, but that is tedious and time-consuming. Ctrl+c'ing and Ctrl+v'ing every time I want to say ₪₪₪₪₪ will get old fast. There must be a better way!

Oooh Another wintery character!
I want to write with you!
If you have a numeric keyboard, the alt-code to make the symbol is ALT + 8362. If not, copying and pasting is the way to go. :Þ
And hello! Glad to see that I'm not the only person with a character adapted to colder climes.

Alt + 8362 = ¬ for me...odd...
Welcome anyways, interesting to see another runic character.
I can't decide whether I should call you 'Squiggles' or 'Bowtie'.
Squigtie it is. Welcome to Althanas!
EDIT: I could waste an hour holding 'Alt' and punching in random numbers to see what character comes up.

¬ is what I get as well. Alt+8361 is ⌐

At squiggles' request I removed spoilers for the sake of confusion ;).
Shush, TSE! I was more amused when they were confused!
