Hey you guys wanna talk about television? Come on, I'm dying to talk about television here people, I'm going nuts about it, I'm losing my mind. Besides, this whole OOC discussion forum is as dead as the hour-long drama series.

Here's the deal. Everyone knows that having a single favorite thing is dumb, because of the MASSIVE amount of things that doing so excludes. So just pick three television programs which you feel are indicative of the best the medium currently has to offer. Try not to repeat what others post, if possible. There are so many good shows on TV right now, why limit yourself in that way! Agreeing with them is okay though, because they will probably be right. Disagreeing is okay too! What the fuck kind of planet would we have if disagreement and slander were met with resistance and hostility? A fucking shitty planet, that's for sure. So, without further ado...

IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA (FX)
Screaming! (http://img35.imageshack.us/i/alwayssunnyscreamingcou.jpg/)

Expected to begin airing its seventh season this year, Always Sunny is a consistently hilarious television program concerning the lives and times of the worlds five worst people ever to own a bar together. Embracing the raw reality of the documentary-style sitcom, Always Sunny brings you in and makes you care about these terrible people as they screw over each other and everyone else on a daily basis. Best episode to start with, to see if you like the show? "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby", or possibly "Mac is a Serial Killer".

ADVENTURE TIME WITH FINN AND JAKE (Cartoon Network)
Baby Pigs! (http://img11.imageshack.us/i/adventuretime.jpg/)

Let any who declare that animation is intended primarily for children be stricken from the kingdom's histories and roasted over a slow pit. This show, midway through its second season, is distressing, amazing, funny, and a little bit dark all at once. Finn the (quite possibly last remaining) Human and his best friend Jake the Dog just kind of do stuff for eleven minutes at a time in the most entertaining way possible. Sometimes these things are adventurous in nature; other times they are not, but it's all good. Best episode to start with? At the beginning with "Slumber Party Panic/Trouble in Lumpy Space".

TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB! (adult swim)
Chrimbus! (http://img547.imageshack.us/i/chrimbus.jpg/)

Is there any better eleven-minute sketch comedy show? No, there simply isn't and never will be. Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim pull back a twitching, fleshy curtain and open a window to "the nightmare version of television". Every pustulant, throbbing, hairy, retching moment of the show's five seasons and, most recently, their holiday Chrimbus special, is a nugget of comedy in its truest, most abstracted form. Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! is the platonic ideal of comedy. Best episode to start with? "Cats", from season 1.

Okay enough of my bullshit. Although that was a pretty cool format up there, huh? Yeah, try and stick to that format if you can, 'cause it communicates the point you're trying to make with your little write-up and visual representation. But even if you can't, please, share what you like about TV in this, quite possibly the most variable and successful age of the medium!
