So, registered a few days ago, but suddenly found myself at a loss as to what character concept to use. Went with a general account name as a consequence instead of the more practical character name, but how was I to know that I would use so many days to decide?

Anyway: Hi :)

A longer "hi": Totally new to this site, but has roleplayed both in real life and online for several years now (respectively 12-13 and 8 ish...). Been away from online gaming for a while now, and thought it would be cool to experience something new. I also love to write (duh, why else would I do pbp?), and probably have just as many ideas for the next great fantasy or sci-fi epic as the next guy here...

So, been working over the weekend on a character concept (of course it was the first one I thought of - but you always have to weight your options, don't you?). It transformed a little over the days, and I still need to get the finishing touches done when it comes to his history, but getting there. I was just eager to meet the community :D been seeing some good writing here, although I haven't taken the time to read anything yet - I mean, the timeline almost killed me! ;) been sticking to what's important to get going for now. Lore can always be learned later.

welcome to althanas! it's always good to see new faces. *holds out a plate of homemade cookies* want one? they are guaranteed to be trick or poison free, cause unlike some of the other so called cooks around here, i'm nice and won't try to kill you or put you under a spell or anything else like that. enjoy! :D

Welcome! It is past my bedtime..... but yess.... Welcome! There is a lot of lore, but that's part of the fun, trying to navigate it. Or Don't... either way it'll be fun!

And it's really windy outside.

Hey, welcome to the site. I really recommend picking a character you can grow into. Keep their histories short, simple, and with enough wiggle room to fill out in the future. The same goes with their abilities. After you've found something you like, just get right into it. I am sure if you create a thread in the Recruiting form somebody will be up to play.

Anyway, welcome again.

Thanks everyone! :)

*holds out a plate of homemade cookies* want one?I'd love to! *happy* This is up to an awfully good start, I'd say :D

I'll eventually navigate the lore. But for the moment I'll mostly learn by doing, I think. Wind or snow shouldn't be a problem in that apartment.

Thanks for the advice, Yari. The concept, while simple at first glance (actually, I originally decided against it, looking too straight-forward), has been given some thought and I tried to give it an extra dimension or two. The guy below may look like a simple grunt, but he's given considerable thought when it comes to story, personality and interaction. Fear not! But, uhm, yeah... admittedly, he might still be the love-or-hate kinda guy...

Charming, ey? His profession should be obvious.

Riiight, so there should've been another post here by me here. Either it must be approved by a mod (for all I know, this might have to be as well), or it's lost in the great wwwoid... Anyways, thanks, guys :) Still enjoying those cookies, fictional as they might be. And good advice, Yari. I know I have an uncanny knack to get stories entangled at times. But trying to improve. Don't we all? :)
