Style Contest Voting

About a month too late, I finally got enough non-participating moderators together to come up with the finalists for the style contest. Please vote for your favorite. The top three will become Althanas styles!

I'll leave the poll up until I notice most active players have voted.

This is lazy. You didn't actually put the names of the styles as options, just links. Some of them are unvisitable in preview unless you have a vB account, and most of the other previews are very small images. An actual attempt to make this legible would be to stop using links that go outside the site and re-post the larger preview images here with a short description with maybe what's so different about them besides just the color, and just leave the names of the styles in the poll.

That said, the first appears to be the easiest on the eyes.

Yes, that's the definition of a simple solution: Forcing everybody to do something instead of one person doing something that takes less effort.

I really think naming the styles in the poll and providing on-site examples is a better idea. As it is, it's a little annoying to access and not uniform (and thus likely to decrease the number of people who vote and skew the vote.) The vague way the links are posted is only going to hinder discussion. Plus one of your links is broken and one of the preview links is as well.

That said, I like the second one (I guess it's called Take Five?) the best minus the annoying banner at the top. The first one (Darkness) is definitely easier on the eyes, but the second one reminds me of Althanas back on AllRPG. I like it mostly for sentimental reasons, but it also seems more thematically in line with Althanas than the others.

I used bronzecastle for years because dark hurt my eyes.

i hate dark one. they mess with my eyes so bad. bronzecastle wasn't as bad, but it was still too dark for my eyes to be comfy for very long.

On another note, i had no problem seeing what the styles looked like. Do you people seriously need to complain about everything? jeez! (that's rhetorical btw)

Not home yet, but took a look see and...

...I still miss evoforest... only because I'm used to high gamma burning my eyes and stuff and I like bright bright things.... so the way it is now works but is a little bland.

I did vote though! But I might still be using the default one so I can have a really bright background~

Evonature was my fave. it was bright enough not to hurt my eyes, but not so dark as to make my eyes have to work overtime. and it wasn't the boring vB default

I'm really glad that site design is being debated upon. Has no one considered making a custom template for Althanas?

I can't remember whether or not anyone offered to do so during this process, but I'm sure Max would be willing to discuss the possibility with someone who had the know-how. Well, any of us would be happy to discuss it, he's just the one who would actually know what needs to be done. :p I'd encourage you to send him a PM if you or someone you know has some ideas for such a thing. :)
