Known As: Talen, The Bun Kid or Bun (in Underwood after 'A Sticky Situation'), Bed Wetter (by Jensen Ambrose), or The White Shadow (when undercover).

Physiology
Talen is a shadow elemental. In order to join the material plane he crafted a body made of condensed shadow energy, but perfectly mimicking a normal human body. Within the body he planted a gate of sorts that allowed energy to flow into Talen slowly, effectively allowing him to grow like a normal child. Once he transferred his conciousness over, Talen lost his memory. What little he knows of before he entered the material plane of Althanas has come as second hand knowledge, and he still doesn't know why he did it.

All Talen's abilities involve manipulating the same shadow energy he is comprised of in one of three ways. By directly manipulating the energy of his body (eg. Shadow Step and Burn Baby Burn), by brining in more energy through the gate within himself (eg. Dance of Shadows and Shadow Hold) or by using latent energy that seeps in through shadows (eg. Shadow Play).

Talen's cloths are also made up of the same energy as his body, so the youth can effectively wear any type of clothing he wants and change at a whim. He is limited to black clothing however.

Blessings
Talen has currently two blessings from the Thaynes.

N'Jal: N'Jal blessed Talen during a rite with Lorenor. The bessing granted Talen additional power, some of his memories back and increased speed. The Mark of the Spider Queen in on Talen's left shoulder blade.

Hromagh: After a dream-time fight with Hromagh as well as Sei Orlouge, Jensen Ambrose and Dan Lagh'ratham, Hromagh granted Talen increased strength. On Talen's left forearm is the mark of Hromagh.


Personality
Talen is the sort of person to weigh up his decisions on their consequences rather than merits. His neutral attitude has formed thanks to a number of near-death situations. In most situations Talen keeps his cool and will normally take a chilled easy going attitude.


Appearance
Talen is a thirteen year old boy. Given his small size, old faded cloths and unkempt appearance, Talen looks like a street kid. He is an alright looking kid all things considered, with pale skin and short black hair.

Base Statistics
Each base statistic is assumed to be a multiplier of the average person. So if its a 2, Talen is twice as fast as average and so on. (STR= Strength, SPD= Speed, AGL= Agility, END= Endurance, SGHT= Sight, HEAR= Hearing)

Shadowmancy

Shadow Play
Talen is able to create a illusions out of shadows. He can create human sized illusions/shapes for about 15 minutes (3 posts). At the moment he can use the spell five times a day.

Shadow Step
Talen turns into a shadow and is able to travel a large distance in a short amount of time. The amount of time he spends preparing the spell is relative to the distance he travel. The amount of time needed decreases exponentially as he meditates, so it takes half a minute to travel ten metres or two and a half minutes to travel 100 metres. The time levels out at three hours, where he can travel extremely far. At the moment he can only use this skill three times a day.
Quest Only: Talen can travel with someone else using his Shadow Step if it is a willing participant.

Liquid Ooze
Talen condenses specific shadow energies into a very slippery (like a high quality lubricant) or sticky black liquid. Depending on the particular mix of energies Talen uses, it can either be highly flammable or not at all (similar to water). The flammable version can catch alight with exposed to an igniter (such as a spark, flame or other intense heat). When on fire it burns quickly, doing moderate damage (second degree burns) to anything it is touching. Can be used 4 times a day with about three litres of liquid created each time.

Dance of the Shadows
Talen can create some sort of object which fire projectiles and slowly grows more powerful the longer it is left before firing. Whatever is created can fire palm-size discs towards a target and have the strength of iron and disappear a minute after firing. The object starts with two discs and adds two per post until a maximum of nine. The discs can be shot at a target as soon as it is formed, but any non-ready discs are lost. The spell can be used three times a day. (removed until review at next level.)

Shadow Hold
Talen solidifies shadows to form a solid shape used as some sort of inhibiting object. The smallest of these would be shackles and the largest covering a area of four metres square (eg a cage). Once the spell is formed it needs to be shot towards the opponent in some form, or physically placed on them. If the spell is not formed near Talen (eg a cage formed above a target) it cannot be created closer than ten metres from the target (so they can escape). At the moment the spell creates a dark metal as strong as steel and can be used 3 times a day (additional uses can be used if the weakest form of the spell used or a softer metal).

Burn Baby Burn
Talen has learnt how to control the dark matter in his arms. Specificity, he can cause the matter to slow down its movement, or increase it. The result allows the youth to speed up and create heat, or slow down and create extreme cold along his forearms and hands. Three times a day for ten minutes (or 3 posts, whatever first), Talen can create extreme heat or cold to radiate from his forearms and hands. Should they come in contact with another person it could cause second degree burns.

Adult Sized Serve
Talen has the ability to change his form into that of an adult. The change takes a night to either change into or out from. Talen doesn't gain an increase to any abilities, its just a change to his appearance.

Skills

From the Shadows
Talen has learnt how to change intimate objects into shadows and back. Items that have been in his possession for a long time (ie, in his character sheet, or granted as spoils in other threads) can be summoned from the shadow realm, or sent back. Can't be used in a fight, but could be used before a fight so Talen has what he needs.

Dress for Success
Talen change change his clothing at will, as long as the clothing is black, and doesn't give him an advantage in a fight.

Swordsmanship:
Talen is great with a sword. He utilises his own style of combat in which he will use his blades and often their sheaths one handed. If he is pressed, he might switch to a formal style.

Brawler:
Talen has some experience fighting hand-to-hand and knows how to use his gauntlets.

Secretes of Shadows:
Talen knows a lot about Shadowmancy or other forms of magic utilising dark energy.

Shadow Speak
Talen knows how to communicate with Shadow Elementals or other Shadow Creatures, assuming they are sentient enough to understand.

N'Jal Initiate:
Talen had decent knowledge of the Dark Goddess and those who follow her.

Basic Magic Knowledge:
Being around a lot of magic day in and day out means that Talen has picked up a few things here and there about how other types (non-shadow/dark) of magic work.

Observant:
Talen spent his life on the streets and had to learn to pay attention to what was going around him, or suffer the consequences. He will normally be paying attention to whats going on around him and generally looking out for trouble.

During a surge of Talen's power, the manifestation of his destiny, Ophiuchus, changed dramatically. The blades have now become inert pieces of metal in the shape of pistols. While not actually firing like a normal gun, Talen can send a blast of dark energy through them six times a day. Each blast can travel around a 100 metres, and strike like a strong blow with an iron hammer. Talen can also sacrifice uses for an increase in range, combining two shots increases the range to 250 metres or three shots to 400. The current limit is three shots into one.

Black Cloths Set: Talen has a woollen black cloak, black linen shirt and pants and black shoes.

The Bright Spark is a small wrist contraption that sits under the forearm with straps around it much like a bracer. When the device is pulled in a certain direction thanks to a pull with the wrist, the device emits a small bright spark for the distance to a foot (unless something stops it). The spark has little to no offensive ability but is useful for starting fires.

This small nondescript black book allows anyone to read the thoughts of any women in the world. The book works as a receiver, picking up the thoughts and turning them to print on the pages. Can be resisted by people with mind protection abilities/spells or those of a higher level than the wielder.

Elruiand's Light is a small wand that can give off a fifty foot radius of pure light around it. It could blind people, but its primary used because undead must stay on the borders of the light. Talen’s doesn’t like the wand very much, but does like what it can do. (removed until review at next level.)

This enchanted cigarette pack produces one special cigarette per day. The cigarette is a mixture of peculiar herbs which, when smoked, doubles Talen's (base) speed for roughly fifteen minutes (four posts).

A small kit with a few basic medical implements in it. It contains tweezers, a scalpel, scissors and a bandage.

Trophies:
Talen has collected a number of items from his adventures, they had little if any use other than decratoive.

The Mask of the Oni was worn by a summoner to tormented a small town in Akashima with his giant summon, the Oni of Waukasha. Upon his defeat, Talen took the mask.

I know it says I need another 200xp, but the thread here (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?22637-Team-of-Fellows-Workshop-Judgment) will give me 300xp, and I've been wanting to update to 3.0 for a long time.

Change Log: All abilities, skills and weapons are located under the headings, but some are referenced in the other parts of the character sheet (ie. Blessings).
Updated Physiology
Added Blessings (effects of which are under Abilities).
Removed History (to be updated properly later).
Separated Skills and Abilities and added a 'body statistics area' under abilities.
Added in two new weapons, which I just opened a bazaar thread to buy. I would normally wait till after I have bought them to put them in, but with so long passing between character updates, I feel it would be a long wait. Let me know if you want them removed.

Ability/Weapon related changed:
Removed Dagger of Life and abilities from Mask of the Oni.
Increased Strength and Speed (1x to 2x) as a replacement.
New Ability, Burn Baby Burn.
Changed the Ophiuchus blades into a new manifestation. While not granted in a thread, it is a mixture of things that happened in a few threads, as well as the changes of the character system that made me change them. I can change this into a skill too if necessary.

I haven't detailed all the changes to skills, let me know if you want it. I think most are correct, but I wasn't sure about 'Dress for Success' and 'From the Shadows'. If Talen is too strong, or too weak, let me know. If I have some wiggle room, I'd like to increase the damage of Liquid Ooze.

Uh...3 posts in a battle is a little shorter than ten minutes. But three posts sounds about right for how long it can last. So make that edit and while your at it you have a lot of items and abilities. Combined they equal to about seven plus. I'll need you to remove some of them before officially you can be approved. In 3.0 we count Items that grant abilities or augment abilities as part of your characters progression up and counts towards your total character level. As you stand your a bit to powerful with all those items and abilities.

I generally write a post and a time limit, then do whichever comes first. :D I edited that in.

I removed Dance of the Shadows and gayelfname's wand. I would probably want to get those two back at a later stage, perhaps the next level, so rather than delete them I thought I'd strike them so I can easily refer to them at the next update.

How's that look?

Those changes so far are in the right direction! Next up are these discrepancies.

Your Cig Case: So is it your case or the cig itself that doubles the str and other abilities when you smoke a long one? As I see it, that's pretty nifty to have unlimited, but I figured I would ask you so I know for reference. A little clarity on that and I'll be moving you along.

Uh, as i understand it, when you turn your arms to extreme cold or heat, your gauntlets are gonna fry up or freeze over with em. Sounds like it wouldn't be a problem, but as i see it, that would either melt the armor and make it malleable and thus, well, useless, or freeze it so bad that a powerful hit can actually shatter pieces of it. Was this intentional, which if so, you're fine and no changes need to be made to the gauntlets, or was this unintentional, and thus you need to change the properties of the gauntlets?

I am going to ask that diary of Jane not always work on higher leveled characters or those with the ability to block out telepathy or things of that nature. It would be too powerful to just read any 'ol woman's mind. That apparently is a turn on for chicks, and you're to young. :p I understand you got this in the auction, but I'm reserving the right to limit those as I see fit as we have had...SEVERAL little problems with that.

(The ability to ignore intense heat/cold is cool, but i'm not just thinking for you. What if Revenant grabbed hold of your arms and breathed liquid hot MAG-ma on you and you were all like 'Pssh, whatever dumbass, I got super silicon arms!' See what I am getting at?)

Everything else however, looks like a dainty dream. So...smoke if you got em?

The ability of the gauntlet wouldn't be to ignore heat/cold, it'd be to not be weakened by them. I suppose though that might might lead to complications....

Maybe then it could be enchanted to not be weakened by Talen's specific heat... or perhaps easier would be to just buy something stronger with steel, then it would have higher heat resistance.

This sounds like something I can sort out in the shop thread, I've removed the item for now (and will link in sig when I get it), can I go play with my new toy now? :p
