Name: Genevieve “Gen” Lazar
Age: 19
Race: Human
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5’4”
Weight: 100 lb.
Occupation: Former clothier.

Personality: Reserved and quiet, but with a taste for adventure. She dislikes confrontation, but has a friend who usually takes care of most confrontations for her, so she is somewhat sheltered and not always the most tactful. Even though Gen may seem unassuming, she is always sticking her nose into places it has no(se) business being. Dislikes: routine, mud, heroes; Likes: adventure, travel, cute stuffed animals.

Appearance: Besides the critical details above; she’s mousy, not ugly, but not pretty. Her skin is perpetually too pale. Her hair is straight and shoulder length, she takes special pride in caring for it and maintaining its shimmering silkiness.

Skills: Genevieve is a skilled weaver, clothier, and doll-maker. She also is a master gossip. She is no stranger to travel and is quite observant of small details. She is a capable cook and has knowledge of medicinal herbs.

She has no combat skills to speak of and is not terribly athletic.

Abilities:

Animation: Genevieve can grant sentience and motor skills/locomotion to inanimate objects which are sustained by her willpower. These animated beings are subordinate to Gen’s orders and only act to protect her or further her goals. They share a telepathic connection with her and can communicate without speech. Gen’s power strengthens them and can make them harder to destroy than an ordinary object of their type. Currently, she can only sustain one large object, two medium sized objects, or three small objects at once (see the familiar section for her current guardian and more details). This ability only works on objects she is familiar with.

Equipment: She has a pair of iron scissors for cutting thread. They could double as a weapon, but not a very effective one. She also carries sewing and knitting needles and a small loom that fits in her bag.

Familiars:

Taro – a sentient stuffed bear. Dull pink and appropriately cartoonish, Taro towers over Gen at 7 feet tall, carrying a silly grin on his face. He is a homunculus, or artificial life, and is sustained entirely through Gen’s willpower. Taro follows her orders and protects her from danger. Despite his cute and fluffy appearance, Taro can be quite dangerous, especially when Gen is threatened. Taro can gain strength or speed up to twice that of an ordinary person and durability up to the strength of steel if Genevieve is threatened, angry, or particularly resolved.

Taro’s personality and emotions very often mirror those of Gen although Taro is excessively protective and often seeks to dissuade her from doing anything dangerous.

For the purposes of her ability: a medium object would be 3-4 feet, while a small object would be 1 foot or less.

History:

Gen grew up in Gisela, the daughter of a weaver in the bustling capital. Her father worked with many different textiles, manufacturing clothing, toys, rugs, and tapestries. She learned the trade and took to it very rapidly, helping out her father with the business while her mother taught her how to cook, clean, and tend to the injuries which so often plagued the male half. Gen’s talent did not emerge until her teenage years, when she first began by accidentally animating a few household objects and then moved on to more deliberate animation, creating imaginary friends from her dolls. Her father did not take kindly to this behavior, finding her gift both strange and unbecoming for the daughter of a simple weaver. He would find any excuse to punish her and began to distance his work more and more from her.

Finally, Gen was fed up with this treatment. She packed up some clothes, her sewing gear, and a few meals worth of food and fled. Before she left, she used her talent on her father’s most treasured creation, a giant stuffed bear that sat quietly in the window outside of the shop. Without much money to her name and with a taste for adventure, Gen set out to explore the world and find something different. Her new friend, Taro, was never far behind.

Sweet profile. I like the idea and really can't wait to see what you have in-store for althanas in the future.

One thing I would like you to change is her ability to grant animation to practically any object. I would like you to limit this to only objects she is familiar with for the time being.

" This ability works better on objects which Gen is familiar with or attached to than on other types of object."

Probably just change it around to: "This ability only works on objects which Gen is familiar with."

This can be changed in a future level update, but at your current level I can see this ability being abused (not saying you would though). Don't want you going around granting life to every inanimate object she sees quite yet. Make that change and we can finish this up.
