I used to play here a couple years back (and just browsing the active usernames, I see some familiar ones. I notice there's still a sh33p and his flock, which makes me happy), and left after a while. I doubt that anyone will remember me, and I'm content to leave it at that.

Anyway, a lot has changed since I've last been here, both in the forum itself and for me. I dunno if I'm back to stay yet, but I've missed writing in paragraph form, missed the fantasy genre, and I've got a book I'm editing and I'm realizing just how rusty I am. So bring on the constructive criticism!

I remember you, I think. Congrats on being modded. Crap, now I'm having trouble remembering if you were ~Poseidon~ originally or the one that was related to another off and on Althanean who liked to tap dance. But I'm thinking it's the latter, not the former.

What I'm wondering is... what happened to the iconic black background? I find myself missing it.

...wow, that caught me by surprise. You're correct in thinking it's the latter, not the former. And thank you.
And there are some new templates, but in the change to 3.0, that background is gone. Yes, I miss it too.

And I remember Orphans and Duffy a little tiny bit! I remember you being on and off, Orphans, and you were coming in as I was starting to wane, Duffy.

And I will get writing... just as soon as my character is approved. :-p I remember how that goes.

That said, anyone interested in introducing Sil to Althanas?

No problem, I can wait patiently. I remember how RoG goes, and there are only so many profiles that anyone can get to in a day. I also know that long profiles like mine tend to be draining on RoG staff, so there's no sense in holding my breath too much.

I am eternally 'up for it', and have a stupid amount of active characters to offer in that regard.

What did you have in mind?

Something in Corone, probably. Maybe where we get on a boat; Sil only knows ONE boat, and that could prove interesting.

She needs something to get her bearings, and she's not going to be feeling very well. This is a strange new world for her...and hell, last I knew, Xem'zund was making a mess of Raiaera, so I need a re-introduction, too.

I would like to make the first couple of posts, one to take my character out of her original setting and one to have her waking up on Althanas, but I can get started on those now, even before I'm approved.

Actually, I just read through your profile and it looks just fine to me. Normally I would say just not to powergame the combat reflexes/awareness, but obviously you've seen your fair share of balanced roleplaying both on and off of Althanas, so it looks like you're good to go. Like I said, if someone comes along and grants me the permissions to move/approve profiles pretty soon, you'll be set.

I would like to do maybe something longer with multiple people, but for my first thread back, I'm hoping for something really simple, basic, and short, with just one other person. I'd prefer that someone to be an individual who could give me some pointers while we're writing, things like "hey, you're good at [something], but I've noticed you have trouble [here]. Maybe you could try [suggestion] and see if it helps."

Of course, you don't have to be that gentle. You could also say things like "Sil, your setting SUCKS, put in some detail, we do not live in a void, damn it."

You were around, and I remember you a bit. Mostly for your romance with Jasmine, but didn't you also have a stint at the Dajas Pagoda? And you were a halberdier, yes?

And I'm content to not be remembered, if I wanted to pick up where I left off, I'd have logged in my old character. But it's a long time since then, I've grown and changed and returned. :)
