Okay much better, I can't believe I forgot to make an account first.
The skills/abilities sections will be sub-divided by Path. For any further questions about Wanderers, please refer to Caden Law's marvelous write-up.
Name: Arandur (Ah-Ron-Dour) Falassil (Fah-Lah-Seal)
Age: 41
Race: Raiaeran Elf
Hair Color: Auburn
Eye Color: Hazel
Height: 5'9
Weight: 140lbs
*Occupation: Wanderer
*Personality: Generally aloof, Arandur always seeks answers to unknown questions. He has a natural interest in magic and can befriend those easily that share the same thoughts. He doesn't much care for the non-elven races, and will always put his elven brethren ahead of them.
Appearance: With medium-length hair down to his chin, Arandur has sharp eyes and the classic pointy elven ears. He wears a dark green heavy silk sleeveless robe that splits at the waist. Attached to the robe is a dark green hood that obscures his eyes. Underneath that is a brown long-sleeve linen shirt. Black cotton pants, and brown leather boots. Black fingerless gloves with metal grommets on the knuckles. A brown leather belt that also serves as a sash with pouches and potion canisters attached to it. Above it, obscuring the top half of the belt, is the blackish-brown upper body brace that tightens the robe and has notches for the attachment of various weapon sheaths.
~~~~~~~~~Path of the Warrior~~~~~~~~~
[LOCKED AWAY WITH ZERO STEP]
~~~~~~~~~Path of the Ranger~~~~~~~~~
Skills-
Tracking: Much like a hound, Arandur is able to acquire the scent of his prey. He can also follow his prey's movements via more conventional means of following clues.
Hiding: Arandur is able to mask his presence by making soundless steps (only while walking slow and carefully) and blending into the environment.
Magical Item Expertise: Arandur can pick up things like wands, spellstones, and magical staves and use them for their intended purpose with relative ease.
Crossbow Expertise: Arandur is skilled with a crossbow.
Short Sword Expertise: Arandur is above-average with a short sword.
Abilities-
The Tongue of Plants: He is able to communicate with plants in a subtle way. No words are actually spoken, but he gains the knowledge that the plants know, what they've seen and experienced. More experienced rangers are able to manipulate plants, but he can only speak to them so far.
Arcane Senses: Much like a wizard or warlock, Arandur can see auras indicating the magical strength of a magical person or object, and feel the imprints of lingering or old magic. Although currently, his danger sense and magical-reading (scrolls, Sideways writing and symbols) abilities are negligible or non-existent.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
History: Born into the Wanderers, Arandur first chose the path of Warrior and served it faithfully. At the young elven age of 35, he became a prodigy when he mastered the Warrior Path and changed to the Path of the Ranger. Shortly thereafter, the Corpse War of Raiaera broke out. He was still a new Ranger at this point, so he was forced to recount his Warrior training to survive.
However, something went wrong, and instead of merely bringing back the basics, he managed to revert the Zero Step entirely and become a full Warrior once more, as well as a new Ranger. He allowed this to continue for the sake of ending the war, and afterward the Zero Step was done once more on him, but he was changed by the event.
In the moment he become a Warrior again, he remembered very distinctly the choice to become a Ranger. In that moment he felt an intense sensation of deja vu that made him question his choice. Usually, a Wanderer chooses a new Path only after years of knowing the next choice, and if their mind falters for a moment then they restart the process of waiting years with their mind set before performing the Zero Step. It is not a decision to be taken lightly, and afterward there is no doubt or regret over the action. Arandur was the same way until that event, now he feels as though he was wrong in some way, but doesn't understand why.
He currently seeks to explore the problem more fully in Beinost, where he will become a mage apprentice, a rare choice for a Wanderer, not because of any perceived bias or tradition, but because generally Wanderer magic is more powerful in the long run. However, Arandur feels as though the answers lie in the College Arcana.
Although he had many magical items, armor, and weapons, all of it has been lost in the war and he has had to start from scratch.
Equipment-
-Yew crossbow with two dozen iron bolts attached to his upper back.
-Iron short sword.
-Brown mask with hateful expression, a grate over the mouth, and and red-colored lenses in the eye slots. The mask is kept hidden on the right side of his hood.
