Eathanos
06-11-11, 11:12 PM
Name: Eathanos Fartura
Age: 80
Race: Wood Elf
Hair Color: Light Brown
Eye Color: Golden
Height: 5'10
Weight: 150 lbs
Occupation: Scout

Personality: Eathanos is fickle about who he chooses to associate with. He doesn’t trust any except for his own kind easily. If you are honest and straight forward with him, even if its not something he would like to hear or know, he will appreciate the honesty and know you are a good person at heart.

Appearance: Eathanos is very tall for a Wood Elf. His ears come to a long tapered point and help hold back his long hair. Eathanos is extremely fit and has a good muscular structure. Eathanos has small braids down with colored ribbons the left side of his head, each representing one of his children.

Equipment: Eathanos carries a longbow made of yew, a double sided steel short sword 36" long and a balanced throwing knife that's suitable for sturdy work as well. Eathanos wears leather armor that has steel plates sewn in behind it hidden beneath the leather. The steel shapes over 80% under the leather leaving gaps for flexibility. Eathanos also carries a Quiver of thirty regular arrows, steel bodkin tipped, fletched in pheasant feather as well as ten poisoned arrows, steel broad head tipped, fletched with eagle feathers. He also carries with him a small stick of flint and a whet stone to sharpen his blades.

Skills:
Silence of the Woods: Being a creature of the woods means living like a creature of the woods. Eathanos can run, jump and perform just about any action without making a single noise.

Word of an Elf: Eathanos comes from a tribe who lives their lives according to an honor code. Never tell a lie is one of these codes. The magic of his people has made this rule a permanent structure of their daily lives. Ever member of Eathanos's tribe cannot tell a lie. Everything Eathanos ever says is the truth.

Years of an Archer: Eathanos has grown up using a bow since before he could walk. He is a Master of the Bow. Eathanos can hit a man sized target through wind, rain or any other hindrance at 100 yards.

A good old fight: Eathanos has lived long enough to of gotten himself into plenty of knife and sword fights through challenges and what not. His skill with these close range weapons is average. However, his speed has helped him overcome most others. Experience has also taught him how to throw his knife at close range.

Abilities:
Speed of Life: As someone who often has to be able to outrun the creatures of the forest, Eathanos has trained his body to move at twice the speed of other creatures. His speed and reflexes are twice that of a normal person. This has a direct impact on all his skills and abilities allowing him twice the fire rate of an average archer as well as his other movements.

Power Shot: In battle when Eathanos becomes enraged he can summon the power of his people. This can only be done when Eathanos is angry. The arrow fired deals extensive blunt damage as well as traveling faster and has more piercing damage. The arrow doesn’t need to strike you to deal the blunt damage but simply come within three feet of you in its flight path. [this is similar to a shock wave coming off of the arrow] This attack is denoted by a red aura around the arrow as it flies.

Multi-Shot: Summoning magic from deep within himself Eathanos can fire three arrows of pure magic at opponents aiming each arrow wherever he wants however the accuracy is decreased to half his regular accuracy. These arrows have a high piercing quality as they are made of pure magic but the true benifit to them is after they land they will either completly fly through the target or if they dont the magic simply disipates leaving an open and bleeding wound. Piercing is increased to 1.5x a regular broadhead arrow. This ability is moderatly exaustive to him making it abailable once every three battle posts.

History:
Eathanos was born to a relatively small tribe of Wood Elves. His mother was a highly respected hunter and always managed to come back from hunting trips with enough food to feed the entire tribe. His father was a crafter who made things for the tribe from spears, arrows and bows to baskets, houses and shoes. Where Eathanos grew up there was no concept of ownership or money. You did your job and gave away to others in need what you did not need for yourself.

As a boy his mother taught him the art of the arrow and he showed talent for being able to use one. He would often fish in small streams for fish with his bow never going far from his village. When he was nine years old a neighboring tribe had fallen on hard times and while his tribe did what they could to help them his tribe was just to small to support them and keep enough for themselves. The neighboring tribe grew angry that their neighbors would not support them more and came one day in an attack. Eathanos was out fishing when he heard the screams come from his village. Eathanos came upon a sight that terrified him. His village was burning to the ground. His father had a sword in hand and was fighting a purple haired warrior who had sword and shield. His father was struck through the neck by the warrior. His mother came upon the sight and immediately drew her bow, death in her eyes. The man used his shield to block the arrow. Eathanos had been to stunned to act but seeing his mothers arrow stopped like that he drew his own bow and fired at him. The arrow pierced the mans shield and went through his hand pinning it to the shield. The man paid little attention to Eathanos and instead charged his mother. And though she ran for her life he chased her through the entire village slaughtering everyone in his way. As he caught her he let out a gleeful cheer as he brought down his sword to cleave her in half.

When Eathanos finally caught up and saw what the purple haired warrior had done he released his first bit of true magic. Eathanos was out of arrows but still drew his bow and a single magic arrow flew from the string. The purple haired warrior dodged the attack and fled in fear.

Eathanos returned to his village burned and nearly destroyed. Along with the many lives lost during that fight the winter was harsh to them for they had no supplies to hold their own. Many lives were lost due to greed. Because of that winter people were encouraged to have many children from then on and it became a point of pride among the women to bear as many babies as possible.

When he came of age Eathanos was a hunter who surpassed the skill of even his own mother for he had magic on his side. Because of his fame within the village many females sought him as a mate but only one caught his eye. Kaleen was her name and she was the most beautiful woman in the village. He vowed to her that if she would take his hand in marriage he would search the world for a prize worth of her honor. Kaleen accepted this proposal so long as he brought the said prize back before the new moon.

Eathanos Set out immediately on a search for a prize he had heard rumors of rumors about but had never seen for himself. A white river otter that was said to live deep in the places not traveled. Eathanos borrowed a boat and traveled. He faced many perils including once having his boat tipped by a rather hungry alligator. But soon he came upon a river bank where an otter had taken up residence. There was white fur left on the branches and Eathanos knew he had the right place.

There were three days left until the new moon and Eathanos thought himself he had plenty of time. He laid himself down where he could see the bank as well as anything that would come close to it. Eathanos went without food water or sleep for two days as he lay in wait for the famed otter to make its appearance. Finally on the third day the water rippled as it broke the surface of the water. Eathanos held his breath and took aim upon the creature. As it landed on the shore it looked straight into Eathanos’s eyes and nodded to him as if it knew its purpose. The arrow was loosed and pinned the creature through the heart. Eathanos quickly cleaned the animal before any blood stained the fur.

Eathanos ate the meat stored the pelt and quickly traveled down river back to his beloved Kaleen. It was just before nightfall as he walked into the village carrying the pelt above his head. He walked to the center of the villages with many cheering for him and patting him on his back. As he approached Kaleen he knelt before her offering her the pelt. She picked up the pelt and examined it closely then kissed Eathanos and spoke, “I accept.”

Eathanos lived for many years as thus and had five children with his wife. Tack, Carina, Selene, Fotul and Bastogne. Each of them all skilled as their father were in the art of hunting though through different methods. Tack preferred to spear hunt boars. Carina would use a sling to take down small game. Selene used throwing knives. Fotul and Bastogne both took after their father the most working on mastering their skills with a bow. When each were born a new braid was tied in his hair with a ribbon to denote each of his children.

There came a time when the need for meat had grown quite strong and Eathanos knew he would have to bring down some large game to feed the village. He set out for the meadows just outside the forest to hunt for rhino. It was a days hike through the woods to the meadows. When he arrived there was much game but all of it to small to satisfy the needs of his village. He scanned the horizon looking for prey large enough if not rhino then something else. As luck had it he came across a male rhino grazing not to far to the south.

With great stealth he approached the rhino so as to penetrate the hide of the rhino as much as possible. Eathanos stood and fired the arrow as quickly as he could and it found its mark. However, it didn’t kill the rhino and as it charged at him Eathanos drew back for his magic shot to split his arrows and sink more arrows into its skin. Two of the arrows found their mark and as the magic arrows dissipated the wounds bleed freely. But still the creature charged. Eathanos fled for his life but it did him no good. As the creature closed it in bucked its horn and gored Eathanos through the back of the thigh as it fell dead.

Eathanos did his best to clean and care for the wound but knew little in the ways of healing. Wounded as he was he could only carry 150 lbs of the meat and the horn of the creature. It took him two days to get back to his village only to find machines of war had marched through his village and destroyed everything there.

His people were dead and the village gone. Eathanos wept for his loss and as he sat there sobbing he wished for nothing but his own death. As Eathanos picked up his dagger to join his wife and children in the next world he saw something that enraged him. The purple haired warrior stood where his house once was. It seemed as if this purple haired Wood Elf had joined the destroyers who marched through his village. Eathanos bellowed in rage and threw his knife at the man piercing him where he had done as a child right through the hand. As the same warrior had done when he was a child he fled. Wounded as he was Eathanos could not follow.

Nature took pity upon Eathanos and he healed quickly. Returned to health he set out on a mission to slay the purple haired warrior and any who stood with him.

Hey how's it going, welcome to the site.

I'd like to point your attention at the Registration Faq (if you haven't read it yet). As it stands, right now, you have overloaded your profile with too many abilities. You're allowed to have three at level 0. Look at my profile (I have 2x strength, 2x speed, and 2x something else and that's it for abilities).

If you could remove a few of your abilities, that'd be great and will help to approve this profile faster. If you have any questions contact me via AiM (Rainbowp fools) or PM me on the site.

Thank you.

I read the FAQ closely and I have three abilities. But as for the double strength or whatever. In my skills because of the experiance my charicter has from living 80 years (roughly 30 years old in elven) he has double strength, doubled eyesight and double speed, thats it for doubled attributes. Then he has his 3 magical abilites, Dead aim, Multi shot and power shot. umm tell me if im wrong there but thats what I've seen in other profiles.

I'm stepping in since SandStorm is away, and it's obvious you're confused about some things.
On Althanas, we don't list physical "attributes" as "skills" - we label them as "abilities".

As such, these are your following listed abilities:
Speed of Life (Speed - 2x)
Night Eye (Perception/Nightvision)
Strength of the Beast (Strength - 2x)
Sharp Eye (Perception/Sight - 2x)
Dead Aim (Dexterity Boost +5x, Speed of Weapon +2x)
Power Shot (3' Shockwave, Increased piercing damage)
Multi Shot (Summons ethereal arrows, 1/2 accuracy/dexterity modifier)

According to Althanas rules, that's 7 abilities - which is way too many for a level zero. Limit those down to 3, and either SandStorm or I will look at your profile again.

Multi-shot: How strong are the arrows conjured forth, in terms of durability? And how much stamina does it require for him to use this ability? Edit these in and you'll be all set.
