View Full Version : Not really a recruitment

Well, maybe a potential recruitment, I don't know. For a while now I've been toying with the idea of making Letho a monster hunter. He has all the predispositions for it and frankly he's tired of fighting other people. The thing is, being a solo monster hunter is boring, recruiting people for every monster hunt is tedious and writing with different people every time makes it really hard to develop any real relationships with those you write with.

So I was wondering if there was maybe someone who would be interested in forming a more lasting partnership? Letho will be starting this monster hunting agency thingamajig, probably near the Raiaera's Red Forest (not sold on that yet, though), and he needs someone to work with. Well, he would never admit it, but I sure as hell need someone to write with because I hate flying solo. The threads wouldn't necessarily be exclusive to just us, though. In fact, as monster hunters we can be hired by other members for a fee to do a thread with them, maybe tackling some big monster they couldn't handle alone or whatever. So it also has a potential of growing into a power group, though that's far in the future.

The prime prerequisite here would be dedication. I would need someone who plans to stick with the job for a while. Also, having some knowledge about monsters is desirable, but not absolutely necessary. That's about it. So would there actually be any takers for a series of monster-hunting threads? Keep in mind that we wouldn't just be running off my ideas and proposed hunts. Everybody would have the right to propose the next job.

And now this sounds like an actual recruitment drive. :P

I'm not sure how interesting or readable a Marcus/Letho partnership would be (they both seem to be the stoic type until the shit hits the fan), but Marcus was originally designed to hunt and kill things that go bump in the night, and I'm always up for a thread.

This may not be of help but Rhiannon's NPC known as Roland for the Underwood Patrol actually is trained secretly to kill, hunt, and track down bazar and rather large monsters :p

After I get a few things in life straightened out, I'd be interested! But since my character stands at about Letho's waist (maybe) and weighs less than one of his swords ... I could be bait? Or serve as an improvised weapon!

I'd throw my hat into the ring as well.

I'd like to throw Sol into this; he has good survivalist/tracking skills PLUS he's survived one expedition through the Red Forest already. And if the group isn't situated there it would be a good excuse for me to get Sol to the different parts of Althanas.

Right now my schedule's pretty open, I could see myself being as active as the group found necessary.... I've also become fairly bored with my day job and am looking for more distractions!

Thanks for showing interest in this, guys. I really didn't expect that many people to post here, which only makes me want to start this even more. I'll mull it over during the weekend and try to come up with something. I'll probably start off with one or two people at first and see how it goes.

My idea, if this starts to have potential as a PG, is not to really have just one large group of people writing together, but rather a number of small teams that work together on regular basis (maybe one per region?). And then once every couple of months we'd organize a major hunt which would involve all hunter teams. But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

If anybody has any questions or suggestions, feel free to fire away.

As long as they're real monsters, similar to...

...then I might be interested in popping in for a cameo quest. No way I'd be consistent enough to be the partner you're looking for, but I could probably get my head together long enough for a thread here or there.

Yeah, I definitely plan to go for some of the big fish, especially if I partner up with Sei. Because together we have like enough levels to break Althanas. ;) And cameos quests are also fine. As I mentioned, we'd be up for hire so you can tag along for the hunt if you hire us.

As the Ghostbusters neatly put it: "No job is too big. No fee is too big." :P But also, no job is too small either, so if you need us to hunt down a pack of wolves that ate your goat/horse/capybara, we can do that too.

Please, Sei and Letho have enough levels combined to become undisputed co-viceroys of Althanas. :p
