Sahale

Sahale Fhadraea "The Wild One"
Age: 83
Race: Elven
Hair Colour: Dark Brown
Eye Colour: Dark Brown
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 155 lbs.
Appearance: Upon first glance, Sahale has the look of a weathered traveller. His brown over shirt is dirty, simple and worn at the edges. A tough travelling belt holds up his pants which match his shirt with vagabond like aesthetics. Several pouches hang from the sides of the belt.
Thick brown leather shoulder pads and a matching leather bracer set are all Sahale uses for protection. Most of the leather is a mess of scuff marks and scratches from use.
With his equipment in such shambles one would expect to see an aged grizzled face. While he is not as fair as his Elven brethren, Sahale still possesses a natural beauty. His dark brown hair will vary in length with the seasons. Long for added insulation in the winter and short in the summer. Symmetrical facial features including muscular jaw and cheek bone structures are soft yet serious.
Equipment:
Armour:
two leather bracers
leather shoulder pads
Weapons:
large oak walking/beating stick
one yew longbow
cyper arrows
Other:
two simple linen shirts
one thick wool shirt
leather traveller's pack
utility belt with two well sized satchels
small change pouch
leather bound survival kit
leather bound healing kit
one thick leather falconer's glove
one signalling whistle
Companion: During Sahale's travels he encountered a young female Peregrine Falcon that had not yet reached maturity. He noticed that after the encounter the young bird began to follow and observe him, not unlike a curious child. Sahale left behind some food for the Peregrine and eventually befriended the creature. He named her Onora, meaning honourable one.
Onora is not domesticated but has chosen Sahale as a companion. She is not trained to perform feats like domesticated animals. She and Sahale communicate through a simple language the two have developed. Sahale either talks, focusing mostly on tone of voice rather than words, or uses a whistle he made. Onora will chirp, coo and squawk in combination with body language. Sahale's whistle is too high a frequency for most humanoid creatures to notice.
Skills:
Wilderness Lore: What others call the wild, Sahale calls home. He lives outdoors and has most of his life. His understanding of the natural world seems mystical to civilized beings.
Sahale can predict weather, track, find water, build traps, waterproof gear, understand animal behaviours, pacify aggressive animals, build shelter, support additional travellers, make salves/antidotes/ointments/infusion/etc, build simple tools, nurse wounded plants/animals, conceal himself/his tracks/or others, identify hazards, and so on and so forth.
Marksmanship: Sahale is an exceptional marksman with his longbow. Unaware or prone targets well within range of his weapon do not stand much chance. Of course, long range, severe weather, target awareness and available time for aiming all affect him normally.
Hand-to-hand: Sahale is not trained in any martial art or style of combat. When he finds himself face-to-face with violence, he uses innate awareness to recognize opportunity and danger.
Abilities:
Perception (2x Average Human): A single unified awareness derived from sensory processes while stimulus is present. Until Sahale is dead, stimulus is always present.
Endurance (2x Average Human): The ability to continue or last, especially despite fatigue, stress, or other adverse conditions.
Agility (2x Average Human): The power of moving quickly and easily; the performing of tasks that demand nimbleness.
I created this account three years ago but never used it. This is an update for Althanas 3.0 and to have fresher character ideas in mind when writing.
