Personality and history: Kyla is both incredibly complicated and incredibly simple at the same time. (Just like a woman huh?) She’s usually wrapped up in some silly drama or another and tends to get herself into trouble. She’s a lover and a fighter, a best friend and a fearsome enemy. Most of all, she’s just a young woman hoping that one day all her dreams will come true.
History: Kyla was born in Orlouge Drantrak, one of the two mystic towns. She was the youngest of three children. One day her village was attacked by a group of extremists. Kyla ended up alone and afraid in the forest by herself. A group of bandits traveling through the area found the small six year old alone and afraid and took her in. The leader of the group took a special interest in Kyla as she seemed to be the only person who was able to reach his little brother.
Zander took good care of Kyla, but even as she was a part of the ‘family’, she couldn’t justify their lifestyle. One day after eleven years with the bandits, Kyla was present when a girl was killed by one of their group. Kyla ran away, Sophia’s face forever painted in her mind. She began researching her past, which led her to the tomb of Sei Orlouge. He helped her discover her past, and the two found that they were connected. Kyla’s father was Sei’s oldest brother. Niche Orlouge has had a difficult time accepting that his little girl has come back to him, now fully grown and so different than he’d ever imagined. Kyla chose to stay with Sei, and to train under him.
She quickly bonded with Sei’s daughter Anita, and the two are now inseparable. Kyla completed both the shadow and light trials of the mystic race, becoming the first mystic to wield both powers. The combination of the two powers would kill the girl if it weren’t for a ring built by her uncle to hold each at bay. While the ring protects Kyla, it also holds back her powers. Kyla was quickly caught up in a whirlwind when Sei began to put together an army destined to protect Radasanth. Sei’s army moved into the family’s home, allowing the girl to train with some of the greatest warriors Althanas has to offer.
Kyla became romantically involved with one of Sei’s bodyguards, Jensen Ambrose. Though they have since decided to become just friends, Kyla remains completely in love with the immortal. After the breakup, Kyla left the tomb in an effort to learn magic. She was tricked by another mystic into saying a spell designed to only be able to be used by someone who controlled both magics. The spell destroyed two-thirds of the mystic race in a single moment. It also caused all mystics to become unable to reproduce. Kyla became a wanted woman, and she ran for her life to her uncle’s home. Once there, Kyla became increasingly ill, and eventually found out that she was pregnant. The child was implanted by the spell, the son of a dead mystic who had created the spell. Kyla gave birth to a son named Akiv shortly after being appointed a general of the Ixian Knight’s army.
Recently, Kyla has been under the tutelage of the rest of the Orlouge family. All of girl's uncles vowed to help her become stronger with her abilities of light and shadow magic, as well as her grandmother and grandfather.
Skills:
Kyla has basic training with both Throwing Knives and Butterfly Swords.
Short Range Combat- Kyla is above average at close range combat with swords and axes.
Abilities:
Mystic Protection- A birth rite spell for all mystics. If it is cast, any attack will cause a glass shield to surround Kyla and Explode outward. This spell may only be used once per battle. Furthermore, Kyla has recently discovered the 'True Nature' of her Mystic Protection that most Mystics discover around her age. Now, when the glass shield explodes outwards, the glass shards are set ablaze with fire as well as their original damaging ways.
Shadow magic- Kyla can use her shadow magic to create any weapon she can envision. This is limited to swords, axes, and spears. She cannot create any sort of long-range weapon. The weapons she creates are the strength of Delyn. Received in Where Memories Hide Since the magic is a part of Kyla.
Shadow Magic Technique: Shadow Step - Thanks to some training with her secret agent uuncle, Razak, Kyla is able to meld into any shadow in the room, and come out in the same way. If her opponent manages to fill the room completely with Light, Kyla is instantly exposed. This technique also takes a minute to perform, and thus is only really practical for a pre-emptive strike. Levitation- Kyla can lift small items with her mind, though it takes her entire focus leaving her weak against any attacks. She cannot move anything that is in another person’s possession. Used in Condemnation
Light Magic- Thus far Kyla’s light magic is only capable of producing a distraction; she is able to create balls of light the size and strength of tennis balls.
Light Magic Technique: Firework - After training with her Uncle Steppenwolf, Kyla has developed the ability to create a kind of explosion of light from her magic abilities. The 'firework' does no damage, and mostly serves as a way to temporarily blind her foes. Learned here. Mystic Bomb: Kyla combines her light magic and shadow magic together (In the Mystic world, a big no-no) to create an orb of energy, this orb of contradictions causes a small explosion the scale of a gernade. This technique completely drains Kyla, and leaves her needing some serious sleep once used. Used with the Focus Ring, Kyla can produce 2 Mystic Bombs before the draining effect takes place. The Limiter Necklace: A necklace made of two silver clasps, N'Jalian spider silk, and a single small diamond in the middle. When Kyla wears this necklace, it doubles her natural weight. Due to training with Ciato, she has learned to wear this and go about her every day activities normally. When she takes the necklace off, however, Kyla receives double strength, speed, and defense for three posts. After that, she becomes extremely tired and weary until she can put the necklace back on. Magic balancing Anklet- Removal of this anklet would cause Kyla to die in a matter of minutes. It controls the magics within her body but serves no other purpose.
