Boots of Triton: These magical boots are made of sea serpent scale and appear black. They are incredibly light and given the material, provide excellent resistance to cold as well as slashing damage. The enchantment that was placed upon these boots allows the wearer to manipulate the material in countless ways, turning the boots into the most versatile traveling footwear. If willed to by the wearer, the boots can morph to accomodate the individual's needs. However, they do not fundamentally alter in form - that is to say, the boots remain in the form of boots, they just slightly alter their function as boots.
For example, if looking to maintain some stability on ice, the boots can grow small spikes upon the bottom of the surface, or cover with an adhesive material. Perhaps this adhesive material could allow one to climb a steep slope. The boots could develop a cushion that allows the wearer to move in utter silence if they so choose, or provide a layer of durable metal that would allow the wearer to walk upon glass or spikes. The versatility is limitless and is designed specifically for getting around. The boots cannot conjure items that can be detached from boots and are not intended to be used as weapons, though it is possible for the boot to grow a blade or something of the sort, or even to use the spikes as a weapon.
I'm willing to substitute the sea serpent scale for something such as arctic hide, but to be honest, the material matters little to me. It's the enchantment that matters.
