All Bunnies are approved throughout the thread. Thank you~

Rarely did Azza ever enjoy the hot sun, never mind bask in it. In fact, the summer sun overhead was in one last burst of its might as the beginning days of autumn crept ever closer. Azza, by all means, would have normally been content to roll about on the cool stone floor of the Ixian Castle family rooms or even the wooden floors of the Underwood Orphanage. Maybe even perhaps the shallows of a small brook with the other children from the orphanage.

But today, today was different! Sort of…

It started as another one of those weeks when Jensen and Stephanie, Azza’s adoptive parents, were busy on missions. Her usually caretaker, Kyla, was also on errands of her own. That left the last and most reliable choice of Mother Holly, the den mother of the orphanage where Azza was raised for the majority of her life.

Only this time, when Azza arrived in Underwood, Mother Holly had already taken the children out to one of the many forest glades of Concordia. The sudden change to plans left the young teenager with nothing to do as Azza had been expecting to help out at the orphanage, like she always did when she stayed.

With the whole day to herself, her immediate thought went to the Summer End’s festival that was currently taking place in Underwood. Even during wartime, there was a need to celebrate and to take the edge off the tension of everyday life. For Azza, it meant conjured ice cones, flavored snow baskets, and other ice related treats.

With an assortment of treats helping to chill her, she didn’t mind sitting in the sun to soak up the heat. It was an entirely different sensation for the girl: to be frozen from the inside and baked on the outside.

An odd sort of content washed over Azza as she swung her legs from a bench in the center of Underwood. As she picked at a watermelon snow cone, her eyes roved around to look at the other patrons, majority of them parents with their children or young couples out on a date. Soldiers too, took a break from their grueling day to day grind in the shade provided by some of the awnings of storefronts, holding iced drinks.

Today was a day where nothing was going to go wrong for Azza. Those thoughts mingled with the cooling melt of the flavored snow on her tongue and spread throughout her body. Putting aside her treat, she opened a small leather pouch at her side to check her coins. A hundred total, after what she spent on the frozen delights. Closing it and securing it to her side once more, she took one last look around before picking up the small cup and carefully hollowed wheat stalk to sip at her melting treat.
