There's a First Time for Everything

Forgive me while I toot my own horn a bit, but I've just successfully completed my first story -- ever. And because I love you, Althanas, you get to be the recipient of my first ever work of extended prose. You may celebrate with me (or laugh at how horrendous of a noob I am).

Also: I believe I may have done so within the time frame necessary to get 200 free experience points. I don't think I could be any giddier right now.

Looks good. I haven't done a word count, but I know there are only six posts. Is it at least 10,000 words? I think that's the minimum for a full Judgment

I think that understanding the purpose of this story might help explain its brevity. I'm using this as Jack's effective "background", or "history" - his revelation to the world of Althanas, IC. I wanted to accomplish a few, very specific things with this story:

1.) Bring Jack into Althanas in a way that felt organic to both Althanas' setting and his character.
2.) Give him some purpose, something to fight for.
3.) Show that Althanas, while fantasy, is real (as far as Jack is concerned); and as such is not a place to tread lightly.

I hope I did such.
