Althies General Info

Hey everyone! So I realized that the Althies hadn't been done yet and decided to pick up the slack on this neat little deal.

Here are a few ground rules for Nominations

1. With the exception of "Most missed Olbie" ALL nominees MUST have been at least somewhat active in 2011. I will be checking this.
2. Feel free to nominate people that have already been nominated. I will be taking the top 3-4 nominees in each category. So the more often you nominate someone, the better their chances of being on the voting ticket.
3. Unless otherwise noted, nominations need only consist of a username. Those categories that require a little bit more will have a note about it in the nomination thread.
4. Yes, you CAN nominate yourself. There's no shame in it. :)


If you need clarification for any of the categories, put your question here as I will be using this as a Q/A as needed.


Nominations will be open until the end of the month, February 29th at midnight ALASKA time. Over the first weekend of March I will be putting together the voting threads.


That should cover everything, so get to nominating!

What about a "Best Newcomer" category? (not that I'm trying to get a 2012 campaign together or anything >.> .....)
And also some type of category for "Best Overall Writer"? I saw that each element has its own award, just figured there should be one for the collective whole (unless that's supposed to be implied by the "Mr./Mrs. Althanas" category)

perhaps next year. We trimmed a lot of categories out because of the small (and active) population. I will keep those in mind though. "Best Newcomer" is really good though.

EDIT: On second thought, i really like the "Best Newcomer" idea, so I added it. Thanks for the suggestion!

February is over so Nominations are CLOSED! I will get the polls up ASAP over the weekend. Voting will hopefully commence at 12:01am Monday, March 5 and will continue until midnight Alaska time March 31.

Only one vote will be counted. I can't really stop you from using all your alts to vote, but I will be checking them and getting help matching those that I do not know. Multiple votes in the same category by the same author will NOT be counted.

The polls are all up! You have 15 days to get your votes in. Please do not vote with more than one account. Multiple votes by one author using different accounts will only be counted as one. I don't expect it to be necessary to check that no one is using an alt, please don't prove me wrong. Be honest guys and only vote once in each category.
