The sun was out, yet the city of Radasanth was bathed in complete darkness. Every couple of years, the moon of Althanas would slowly rotate around the world, eventually blocking off the life-giving rays of the star. While a select group of individuals saw this as a scientific inevitability (the moon was closer to Althanas than its sun, so eventually it would overlap it in rotation), less educated people saw this as a sign of the end of times. Nevermind that every half of a decade would see this strange phenomena begin anew. Zealots would preach on about penance, people would go screaming as if they'd lost a child, and the looting.

Oh, so much looting.

While the 'eclipse' as some called it was an absolutely magnificent sight to behold, it caused such discourse within the lower-income districts of Radasanth. It always took the Mystic to remember his own privileged life, and realize that not everyone could afford luxuries such as a daily classroom, or any form of education at all. Every time this strange event took place, Sei would try to quell the more sinister forces at work. The muggers, the lynch mobs, the rapists, they would all be foiled by the harbinger of sanity. However, Sei could not be everywhere at once, and many a thief would pilfer an entire house, a vandal would cause massive property damage. He always had to choose which crimes were more important, more severe than others. Material items could be replaced, but stolen ideals could cripple a person forever.

This year, however, was the first year Sei had been able to bring in reinforcements. All through the city, panicked mothers were being calmed, would-be muggers taken in under a guard's watchful eye, and the populace as a whole reached a lower level of alert. That was not to say that people were not still running around making declarations about their soon-to-be destruction, but it was a lot less stressful thanks to the full support of the Ixian Knights. The more severe crimes would be stopped faster, and people would rather report problems rather than let whoever go crazy in any way they saw fit. It was the first year Sei did not feel like ripping his hair out between crime after crime after crime.

The mute ran the busy streets of the bazaar, his eyes darting back and forth as he did so. There would still be criminals who crept around well enough to elude his personal army. With the Knights with a decent hold over the district, Sei could finally focus today on the looters. A broken window here and there would cause the mute pause, and a quick investigation. Most of the time his search turned out to be just the work of anarchists trying to hurt something. However, Sei soon came upon a house with a door left wide open, swinging softly on its hinges as it did so. The strategist raised an eyebrow, slowly climbing the two steps leading into the complex, and deciding to take a look for himself...

Uzriel was an opportunist, of sorts. He knew when he could take his chances, and he knew when to play it safe. When he discovered that this "Eclipse" he had heard of so many times before caused so much chaos and anarchy, he knew he could take action. He looted the richer first, of course. The poor not only had very little, but Uzriel pitied them, and figured they could use as much as they could. He stole their trinkets, their gold they left behind, and whatever jewelry he found. Over the course of a day, he had accumulated a rather large amount of wealth, with only one casualty. He laughed and dodged past knights and "peace-bringers" that some fool had employed to keep things orderly, keeping to the shadows. This was too easy.

After his first batch of loot, put away for safe keeping in his own personal cashe, Uzriel took to going about the city again. Such foolishness. He never understood why humans, and those of their kin, were so prone to panic. He contemplated briefly the morality of his actions, before being interrupted by a gleam in a nearby window. He ground to a halt, and turned, looking into the window, discovering that it was much to grimy to check accurately for goods. With a sigh, he put his hands to the locked door, and transmuting the lock, and sucking out the tumblers and such. The door simply swung inside, and Uzriel stepped in. He was slightly upset to find the house nearly barren, but to his joy, he found a sword mounted on the wall. It was a Longsword of some kind, with a straight blade and a fine golden hilt, and red ribbon trailing from the bottom. He stepped up to it, and checked for the blade for impurities and craftsmanship. It was certainly a good blade. Uzriel wondered why anyone would leave it behind. No matter. It was his no--

What was that? Uzriel turned, to see a man in the doorway. He smirked. "Shhhh." he said, putting a finger to his lips. "Don't tell a soul".

Sei crossed his arms at the would-be thief. Did he seriously think the Mystic was going to let him get away with defiling somebody’s home? This bandit had some guts, that was for sure. Even in the crazy time that was the ‘eclipse’, most people knew what seeing ‘Silence’ Sei Orlouge meant, at least before they got a fist to their face for their criminal activities.

Yet here was a guy who was either so arrogant in his own abilities, or so disillusioned as to his importance that he thought he could silence the Hero of Radasanth with just as ‘shush’ motion. Sei quirked an eyebrow and took a step towards this person. Judging by the color of his gray skin, he was some form of drow, or ‘Dark Elf’. That did not seem to add up though, because even in Alerar, Sei had gained the nickname as that continent’s avatar.

Now, he was obviously an elf from his ears, but he did not seem to be one of Alerar descent. Sei took another step to make sure, allowing the lights in the home, as well as what lights glimmered through from the blocked out sun to highlight his features a bit more. Perhaps this looter simply did not see him clearly enough? Yes, it had to be something along those lines.

“I would suggest that you leave the belongings here for the people that originally owned them.” Sei spoke to the man, his ‘voice’ echoing with the elf’s head. If the features did not strike this burglar as familiar, perhaps the fact that Sei was one of the few powerful telepath’s on Althanas would.

Although, in the back of Sei’s mind, he had to admit there was something amusing about telling a mute person to ‘not tell anybody’.
