Luned

Name: Luned Bleddyn
Age: 24
Race: Human
Hair Color: Chestnut
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 135#
Occupation: Scribe

Personality: She's over-ambitious and an adventure seeker, hence her choice to travel instead of find quiet, steady work in her homeland. She's resourceful and well-studied which compensates for her lack of experience, especially as she visits unknown lands and deals with unfamiliar cultures, inevitably getting in over her head at various points. She's not necessarily naive, but may be easier to manipulate than most as she tries to find footing in the world away from home.

Appearance: She blends easily into a crowd with brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin lightly sprinkled with freckles. She might be cute if she tried harder, but is too preoccupied with her work and ambitions to worry about appearance. She usually wears a simple gown and worn traveling boots, her long hair braided and pinned out of the way.

Skills:

Languages: Luned is practiced in the spoken and written forms of Common/Tradespeak (native), High Elven (fluent), Drow (advanced), and Salvic (still studying).

Scribe Training: She has both technical and creative skills, able to prepare her own inks and writing surfaces, as well as create fine works from concise, legible documents to full-fledged illuminated manuscripts.

Abilities:

Basic Magic: She's starting to learn how to enchant her work so it may function like her journal (a gift from her mentor) and perhaps even apply the spells to other situations/objects, but for now, her abilities are quite limited.
• Disappearing Ink: A favorite of potential clients, she can create an ink that magically disappears after a set period of time.
• Invisible Ink: Another popular seller, the message is only visible when one knows how to reveal it, usually unlocked via password or applying something to the surface.

Above Average Agility: Though woefully unprepared for any form of combat, she does have the physical means to worm her way out of some situations.

Equipment:

Scribe Tools: Kept in a medium-sized wooden briefcase of sorts that has been outfitted to strap to her back for travel, it contains quills, brushes, remnants of inks and writing surfaces she has on hand at the moment, binding needles, threads, and glues.

Steel Dagger: She has one obligatory weapon for protection, but doesn't necessarily know how to use it very well.

Journal: A well-worn, pocket-sized, leather-bound book, it has been enchanted to give her a means of communication with her mentor back home. Everything she writes on its pages bleed into the leaves of its twin back in Radasanth and vice versa. Very small/light objects (limited to pieces of paper/parchment or single coins) may be placed between the pages and be transported between.

History:

Luned is the product of a happy, healthy family, her father being a successful merchant. She grew up in one of Corone's port towns and, when her talent for languages was discovered as a teenager, she was sent to the capital to apprentice under Bleddyn, an elderly scholar and scribe. There she was given his well-known surname, trained in various forms of written and verbal communication, and groomed to work as a scribe or diplomat.

At this point Luned has studied under Bleddyn for eight years and was given two options: establish her own career, or assist Bleddyn with his archives and explore the world, relaying news and discoveries back through an enchanted tome.

Of course, she chose the second.

At this point her path is open; she has grand dreams of raiding the libraries of Raiaera and learning about technology in Alerar. But to get to these places she must find work along the way to fund her travels, giving plenty of opportunity for her path to twist and turn in unexpected ways.

There is opportunity for Bleddyn to have a secondary (likely sketchy and political) purpose in sending her out into the world, to be developed later on if I can find conspirators. Who knows, Luned could end up an unknowing spy in the courts of potential enemies, or other such intrigue!

Note: If the journal is too fancy for a low-level character, let me know and I'll remove abilities (starting with transportation of small objects). It's mostly just included as a plot device, something that could be abused for political purposes or some such.

The journal is fine, just don't try to sell it (though I suspect you wouldn't want to anyways). Agility is 2x normal human, just for reference sakes.

You are approved. Welcome to Althanas.
