Hi all! It's good to be here. I've had my eye on Althanas for a few weeks of indecision, but finally decided it couldn't hurt to give it a shot.

Though, from what I can tell your compendium is broken? I'm a little confused about the world here, especially after perusing a few character profiles, which seem to suggest that anything goes. I've found the links to the FAQ and character registration, but is there somewhere I can find more information about the setting?

Yeah... the compendium is useful when it's not broken... -_- someone should get on that *cough*Dirks*cough*.

Either way, welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy your stay. Feel free to ask about. Duffy is good at knowing everything written in the compendium because he knows ALLTHANAS! (see what I did there) but characters are pretty good at least telling you about their own regions that they RP in. AKA Salvar for myself.

Or, hey, there's always Google cache. ;) (now why didn't I think of that before?) Reading what I assume to be an older version of the compendium now -- but I'm quite sure I'll have a pick at a few players' brains before long.

Edit: Ok, I've skimmed the history of Althanas, which proves quite useful! So the technology seems to be comparative to early Renaissance, magic is relatively scarce but its existence and use is common knowledge, and the different races are mostly on peaceful (if strained) terms. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and if there's anything important to know I'd very much like to know it! :D

depending on the area, the technology level is higher/lower, but in general, pretty much just give something a spin and whirl and see what happens. If something goes a bit too much astray, someone in the registration process well poke you and tell you so.
