I'm just curious if I'm a weirdo in this sense or not.

Has anyone here actually watched an ongoing series/movie and decided to either try something they previously didn't like, or completely wish to chow down on food the characters mainly eat?

Example: I liked Ramen, but I find myself eating it a lot more since I started watching/reading Naruto. Similarly, I started eating more apples after both the Pirates of the Carribean series, as well as Death Note.

Popeye got me putting spinach on Pizza, which I believe in and of itself I developed my love for via Ninja Turtles.

And after V for Vendetta, I insisted on eating eggs in a basket for a few weeks straight.

Anywho, just wondering, anybody else do this?

I'm very prone to this...really, really, really prone.

Wine is more the thing I see and want to try, though, so I often find myself googling drinks from tv shows (culinary or drama etc) and trying them.

Not to the same extreme as you Ed but when I was younger Ninja Turtles convinced me to try anchovy pizza.

Thats more extreme than me, Paladin, Anchovie was the one pizza I wouldn't try.

And Duffster, Mad Men has made me want to go to my local liquor store and purchase some scotch.

Haha! Yeah, I haven't seen it yet but imagine from what I've heard liquor sales go up when it's aired.

I must confess I do get a hankering for Martini whenever I watch a James Bond film...

Anchovy pizza is the bomb, and in my case the Ninja Turtles have nothing to do with it. Never really liked those turtles a whole lot. But anchovies are fucking awesome.

I sometimes do this. Like, there was this one episode of Johnny Bravo where he makes peanut butter and banana fried sandwich, and for a week straight I ate one every day. Then I realized I don't even like peanut butter that much. :P

I used to be a big whiskey drinker (scotch and rye mostly) but switched to rum for a few years (Captain Morgan's Tattoo ftw). Watching Mad Men reminded me of how much I like whiskey so I'm back onto that.

Other than that though, my taste's aren't really terribly dictated by media. Though when I get a really strong hankering for oranges I can't help but think of Raymond E. Feist.
