Ok, I admit it has probably been over three years since I've written anything outside of academia, so I am quite excited to take up the RPer's gauntlet once again. I am very rusty, however, and for this reason I am shying away from jumping straight into a solo. I would welcome a Citadel battle, as long as it is realised that my character is rather old-fashioned with no defense against magic whatsoever, and would likely fall within the first few pages if his opponent was to be intensely magical. Might not be much fun...

What I am really interested in is perhaps a short little quest with one person. At the moment I am still fleshing out Holly's history, which, unfortunately due to my unpracticed hand, means I need to find it through actively writing him. I thought it might go more smoothly if we could plan the possible story a bit first through PMs or IM, or even in this thread, and I am honestly open to any ideas so we can make this work well for both characters. Nothing epic.

Holly's basics...well, he's a very rough 'round the edges, bitter, middle-aged ex-Knight, crude and prone to a variety of vexing behaviour, and therefore probably won't make for pleasant company. Highly original concept, as you can see. :) All he knows is violence, and all he has ever been valued for is his strength and his blade. Right now, he's basically little more than a breathing sword, and trying to eke out a living in his exile doing the only thing he's ever known. This means he could be a hired protector for your character or a caravan, or serve in some other merc capacity. Or perhaps he and another can run into each other somehow and (fill in the blank).

I promise to post at least 1-2x week, and my only request is the same out of any prospective joiners. I may also add that he tends to despise magicians, wizards, people with supernatural powers, non-humans, et al....so someone with these qualities might make for some interesting juxtaposition.

I'd be happy to help Holly along. I think you'll enjoy the basic principle of this one: A 1-foot-tall fairy, who mainly goes around giving (and stealing) luck, probably Holly's. And will not leave Holly alone no matter how much he tries because it is very, very difficult to get rid of Idièth. Obviously magical, sticky, troublesome, and oblivious to unpleasantness. Poor Holly.

It'll be very simple to meet during his travels because Idièth really needs no excuse at all to try to loanshark Holly. Perhaps together we can try to do something basic, like walk from a shipwreck to the nearest bit of civilization.

Ha, I was actually hoping you would volunteer one of your fairies! He would be a perfect target for her. Very cool.

Do you have any preferences as to what region this will be set in? I could have him traveling down through the deep wilderness of Salvar or something, headed toward a major city, when they coincidentally meet up.

Salvar works just fine for me. I don't think I've actually ever established where I landed.

Sounds good, then. I'll have it up by tomorrow afternoon and link it here.

Here you go, my apologies for the brevity and slight delay. Please make of the appearance of orange growly thing what you will.

Gable Rose, you can join the above quest...or would you be up for a separate one?
