This Thread is Closed to Moonberrycat and myself (BlueGhostofSeaside)
Ashla and Iris were inside a cave. Iris was huming a song, while Ashla was trying to sleep. Ashla couldn't sleep though, but what else was there to do? Yeah, she was bored.
"Hey, Iris," she called from across the cave, "Wanna do something? Like ... sparing?" Sparing! That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that before?

She jumped, she thought Ashla was asleep. "Sure, it'll be a nice change!" She grinned. "But next time, warn me before you act like your coming back from the dead!" She pulled her sword out and started out the cave.
Meooow?
"No Deer, I'm sorry, you can't come with me right now, i'll be right back ok?" She petted his fur as he rubbed against her ankles. She set her kitten on the rock she was sitting on, and then walked out. She whipped around, her eyes shinning brighter.
"I'm ready when you are."
Ashla grinned, Iris didn't know what was coming to her! To be fair though, Ashla decided she would only use her steel sword. "I'm ready!" And raised her sword.

Iris rasied her own sword and swung, she knew that she wa going to be underestimated, everyone did. That was a secret of hers. But she also wished she could be just treated like a fair swordswoman instead of just a little girl looking like its her first time using a sword. It was an easy swing, just something to start things off with, she didn't want to go too fierce, too soon; she wanted to wait things out to see Asha's level of strengh and determination. She heard the clink, and felt the viabration of a sword against hers, pushing with some great strenth.
Not so easy after all....
She gave an easy smile, just seeing what Ashla could start out with was enough to plan a couple more moves. With a flick of her wrist, she pulled the sword in and aimed for the legs, another easy move. She attempted to slash at them 3 times, not trying to hurt Ashla, but give an edge to this.
"So, how long have you been doing this?" Grunted. It sounded angry to Iris, but she wasn't trying to be mean or angry, she was just into it and the fire in her spirit was rising. The battle was starting. This was it.
Snap out of it or you will get hit!
Ashla jumped avoiding the slash Iris aimed towards her legs. She landed, and replied Iris's question, "Ever since my Uncle was killed." She aimed towards the head- not to hard though!
Iris easily ducked, and aimed another hit towards Ashla. Ashla blocked, then attempted to un-arm her.

Iris blinked when Ashla spoke of her Uncle dying. She was suprised, she lost her attention for a few seconds. She felt her sword being loosened from her grip. Oh no! It hit the ground a short distance away. She ran and grabbed it, just barely hitting Ashla's sword in defense.
"I'm...sorry..." She managed out. Taking a deep breath she quickly slashed her close to the head. "I was doing this since...since I was on my own." Iris said, not wanting Ashla to wonder abour where she came out. She made eye contact, she could feel her tempature rising. Calm down, this isn't an enemy, just a friendly spar with a friend she tried to tell herself.
Ashla was startled at how angry Iris had become! Woah... We're just sparing, girl! She let Iris hit at her a couple more times, Ashla blocking of course. Ashla began to hit at Iris now, What's next?

She blushed, noticing how startled Ashla became. "Sorry, I get angry easily when I spar, no offense to you, but i've been through a lot of bullying when I was in school, and it just made me more defensive when I fight, because I don't want to be ever taken advantage of again, I guess." She ducked then swung her sword to meet Ashla's.
Ok, now what?
Ashla went to hit at Iris again, Iris blocked, but their swords were a little to the sides of them, so Ashla asked the questions Would it be wise too... Well... Her ice powers weren't to advanced, so using them at their weakest, they would barely phase her!
So Ashla reached for her arm and touched it, giving it a small chill... Hopefully... She didn't quite know how to control her powers as well- but she was working on it! She let go of Iris's arm only a second after she first touched it, hoping her control was better this time...

Iris felt her arm go cold, nearly starting to go numb, almost comforably numb. She grinned, not because of her arm going nearly numb, but, because she would be able to flex her fire element now, oh no, she couldn't do much, let alone BURN anyone, but she could burn fabric and hair and other flamable objects. She lightly brushed Ashla's shirt with her fingertips, it would be enough to set the bit of her shirt on fire, but it would go out in a few moments, though, Ashla didn't know that. That was her purpose. She could feel her arm tingling, letting her know that her arm was ready to go back to use real soon.
Ashla looked down, her shirt was slightly on fire! It burned out a second later. Ashla looked up at Iris and yelled, "Hey! Not nice!" Iris just laughed, Ashla playfully attacked her, and they began to duel again.

((Sorry, I had to leave without warning to go on vacation, and I couldn't let anyone know, but I'm back now))
Iris grinned, plan successful. "Hey, you weren't very nice either!" She mock-pouted. She raised her sword and swung close to her stomach. Oh crap, bad aim!
Ashla jumped away from the sword, "Who's side are you on?" she asked in a mocking tone. She tried swinging her sword towards Iris's head. She knew Iris would duck, she did.
Wow, this is really fun! she laughed, "Why don't we do this more often, Iris? This is really fun!"
Iris tried to hit Ashla again, Ashla blocked it and threw it off, then she stepped back, waiting for Iris's reply while she took a stance.

She smirked slightly. "While we spar, certaintly not your side!" She managed not to laugh though. She took a step backwards and nodded. "Yes, this is fun, and we should do this more often!" Her smile faded as she finished speaking, for some reason sparing reminded her of someone.....someone she hoped to forget at last.
