So I want my character to be the bodyguard for Princess Akashima, is that against the rules for me to integrate myself into the actual history of Althanas?

This question is fine where it is, really.

As far as letting your character be a bodyguard for the Akashima Princess, that is absolutely fine. Just remember that your character is a level 0, a relative weakling in the whole of Althanas. It would more likely to be prudent to make him a new recruit, or an retiree making a comeback, or something that would fit the billing as to why he's so weak despite having such a high honor.

There is alwsys right of family. Your dad held the position before you, now you are next. But you have little world experience hence a level 0
