Alright everyone, the Adventurer's Crown gambling hall is open. The house is matching wagers at this time for the following:

Round 1 Winners - Groups 3, 4, 5, 6
Highest Scoring Group - Group 6
Lowest Scoring Group - Group 7
First Dropout Closed - Slayer of the Rot
Number of Round 1 Dropouts - 5
and ...

Tournament Winner (if you guess correctly you will get x10 GP back on your wager!) - Ongoing

All you need to do is wager GP or an item that you're willing to part with. If your wager is correct, you'll gain that much back (or a coupon for a bazaar equivalent in the case of an item), but if you lose you lose it all.

Best of luck everyone!

All my wagers are 200GP unless stated otherwise.

Round 1 winners: Group 1, Group 3, Group 5, and Group 8. (800GP total)
Highest Scoring Group: Group 1.

I'm not sure if I ever got paid for getting the tournament winner right in the Serenti.

I'm not sure if I ever got paid for getting the tournament winner right in the Serenti.

I wasn't around during the Serenti, so I'm not sure about that but I'll make sure that these ones get their due.

Betting gold is a fool's game.

Nasr Moghadam

winners round 1: 1, 3, 5, 8; 50 gp

If we do not have an item of any true value, can I put up myself? A month of indentured servitude (say 3-5 threads) where I am at the beck and call of whoever is accepting the bets? Or, perhaps, someone will allow me to put that down in place of, say, 1000 gold and I have to work off (IC, via threads) to return all of that to whoever would place a gold bet on my behalf?

If you want to make a deal with someone to that effect (posts for GP) then that's between you and whomever.

Any takers?

To be fair, he could just write a decent solo and use that GP in the wagers. He has time.

True, but if Mr. Nasr Abdul-Aziz Moghadam wishes to trade his time directly for GP then that's his business.

I prefer to earn gold illegitimately through IC work, instead of having it rewarded for writing something that does not pertain to working for it. That's the reason, plus as a herbalist, poison-maker, cook, and warrior I'm sure there is plenty of things I can do for a wide array of people that almost anyone (probably not a non-human race) would be able to think up. =)

Christoph

600 GP on round 1 winners: 2, 3, 5, and 8.

400 GP on highest score: Group 3 (may as well bet on the home team)

500 GP on Christoph (that's me, :p ) to win the tournament. That's mostly to keep me motivated. Lol.

Nasr Moghadam
08-19-12, 04:28 AM
If it makes anyone feel better about the bet I'm asking for: I want to put what I can on group 1 to win the whole thing. Preferably would like to trade 500 gold towards a month or 5 IC threads (whichever is preferred), add a month and/or 5 threads for every 500 gold added up to 1500 gold.

Letho
08-19-12, 08:15 AM
I don't think you can bet on any specific group to win the whole thing because the groups are randomized each round.

Nasr Moghadam
08-19-12, 12:56 PM
Oh, so the winner is a specific person? I thought it was a group effort from beginning to end? The only other AC I saw I was part of for the first two rounds, but had to drop off the internet for 5 months after.... so I didn't get to finish.

Revenant
08-19-12, 01:44 PM
There will be a single winner for this one.

Nasr Moghadam
08-19-12, 02:45 PM
Ohhhh, well in that case my offer stands. Though, I'll put it down on one of the people that take up the offer, depending on who's up for the wager. Sorry I've turned your wager thread into a mess..

TheOnlyGhost

oic....

Although it will suck immensely if I get poor posters. I guess it's hard to place a bet because it depends on everyones' availability at the exact same time within the time frame. For example, even though my rping skills are immensely massive and flawless (immense sarcasm) my other teammates might or might not be bringing me down with them, simply because they hav'nt posted nearly enough.

EDIT:

So far that's true ... we have the least amounta posts atm. :( We shall see though.

Revenant
08-20-12, 05:25 PM
Post count doesn't mean as much as post quality. And I understand there's difficulty in trying to figure out who will advance because of the randomness involved with team design. That's why you win so much back if you guess the winner correctly at this juncture.

Hysteria
08-20-12, 09:53 PM
@the only ghost, I'm in team 7 too, Harbinger. I might be a bit pesamistic with so many drop outs, but we shall see!

Also, I am in the forerunning to get first drop out. 42 more hours and the moneh is mine :D

Nasr Moghadam
08-20-12, 10:06 PM
Ah, that's the way to look at it. Someone else's shame at not posting is another person's gain. Lol. Does it suck, yeah, but does it also mean that someone is going to gain something, for damn sure. :p

Round 1 Winners (make four predictions and get 1x extra payback for each group guessed correctly)

a. Group 4 --- Talen Shadowwalker - Hysteria {Highest score solo in the group}
b. Group 6 --- Inwuhou - Inwuhou {Highest score solo in the group}
c. Group 5 --- Erissa Tarsul-Caedron - Sagequeen {Highest score solo in the group}
d. Group 3 --- Letho Ravenheart - Letho {Highest score solo in the group}

Highest Scoring Group --- Group 4

Lowest Scoring Group --- Group 7

Number of Round 1 Dropouts (This will payout x3 if you can guess correctly)

If you mean people, I'd say 8 (eight) people.

Tournament Winner: Hysteria

Thanks for sticking up for me guys but it isn't a big deal. People who read the thread can make their own decisions. I let the mods know when my computer crashed and Sei did his best to help me keep up when he had time at work but I couldn't. It happens and if Hoytti thinks having computer issues makes me a bad partner then so be it. I promise I won't be hurt by it :)

hoytti

I wasn't talking about style it was the actual time of posting. Three days in between posts is too long for a timed tournament. She also started out fine but then suddenly dropped and I had my hands tied. We couldn't really move forward much at all. If she knew that she wasn't going to be on much, at least send your partner a PM to let them know so they can move it along quickly, as well as post a full day after them.

Silence Sei
09-23-12, 06:48 AM
You were more than capable of moving your thread along as she was. But when all one has to go off of is 'invisible man chases group around with a candle holder', that doesn't provide your partner a lot of room for creativity.

saying such things publicly can be very hurtful. I do not believe you intended for it to be hurtful, but adding the angry smiley at the end made the opinion come off as mean-spirited.
